Great demo! I correctly guessed all 3! You’re right, they are all stunning guitars visually. For my dollar, I like the Tele tones the best, but they are all fantastic!
Wow, I got the strat and the tele reversed (that strat was surprisingly better than the tele). SG and Sheraton say "hi", glad you're feeling better, but a little sad they were left out.
Glad you're almost back on your game. I think i had the same flu. Nasty. It not only gets in your body but in your head as well. But i do have to say that I love my 1735 Gibson Telecaster! it's a 9 string with 17 humpbuckers. I prefer the unlocking tuning pegs though. I'm not entirely sure if I'm actually over my flu yet. Always enjoy your videos!
Glad you're feeling better, dude! I have one of each of those(different models and colors because blue guitars are factually dumb)but I go through cycles of which one is the main one I want to play. I'm on an LP kick these days. Last year was entirely Tele.
Obviously being a Les Paul fanboy, I got it right. I was confused between the 2 fenders. But the high gain gave it away that X is the Tele and Z is the Strat
Hey Landon, been following your videos since fall, I’ve really come to enjoy the relaxed nature of your channel Bought my first guitar a few weeks ago, went for a Fender Vintera II Nocaster after trying it out in our local music shop I’ll have my first electric guitar lesson this Monday, looking forward to it, having tons of fun
+Yes +I guessed everything from the first clean example. +Difference between single coils and humbuckers is very clear, and become clearer with saturation. Between the two fender, it was not so easy, and I was surprise that these microphones are so identical... maybe it's because it's a modern tele, mine is very different from my stratocaster... but, on the clean examples, I can hear the resonance of the springs of the stratocaster tremolo/vibrato bridge, and the more "focus" sound of the telecaster bridge.
I had the pedal and amp correct. Kinda guessed on the songs. I love Telecasters but that strat and flamed neck sure is purty. I look forward to your videos. Thank you

I confused the Telly and LP, but the Strat was obvious. I liked the Ultra Telly best... and I think it looks the best too. But I'm biased, I was already going to buy one just like it this month.
Glad you're feeling better. I'm old, so have some experience with old guitars. Nothing sounds better for rock in my opinion than mahogany. Gibsons were made of made of mahogany. New ones have some mahogany, but are chunks with veneers. The humbucker pickups have their advantages as well, even if I personally like the tones a P90 offers with a simple twist of a volume knob. That said, Les Pauls don't sing or cry like a Strat can with the tremolo (whammy) bar. Each has it's advantage. I probably play my Tele more than either. I dunno, it's the simplicity. Yeah, the pickups hum, and aren't as "warm" as a humbucker on mahogany. But the neck is great, and amp settings color tone these days as much as anything. It's best for rockabilly as well, if a Gretch is out of reach. As for these three.... Y even ask Y on guitar Y. It's the different tone. I guess with a coil splitter it might sound like a Fender, even with the different wood. Hey, just my opinion, as a guy who doesn't play out any more. ....after watching the end, I was tripped up a bit more with the Fenders, but it's the single coils. Thanks for the fun.
Nailed it! I guess I shouldn’t be TOO proud of the fact that I got them right, considering how different they are. I’m a Fender guy, and as pretty as that LP is, blue just doesn’t seem right on that model. I certainly wouldn’t kick that LP out of bed, though. Probably break the headstock.
I agree with you 100% on these being the 3 most popular guitars of all time although I feel a SG is almost as popular so i consider these 3 and a SG the 4 most popular guitars, and by Strat to me that includes all strat style guitars like Jackson Dinky's and such even though superstrats have at least 1 humbucker in the bridge, however if everything is like it is here I believe the Tele is the goldilocks between the Strat and Les Paul and the one I prefer although it was the last one I ever gave a chance because I played only Les Paul's for 2 decades then got into Strats and enjoyed the comfort and great thungs about them as I played them for about 4 years but something was always missing a bit coming to Strats from Les Paul's finally tried a Tele and realized at least for me it is the guitar I should had started in decades ago as I always avoided them because I thought they were just country guitars and I am more of a hard rock guy but the Tele single coil bridge can hang with the Les Paul bridge humbucker for hard rock and stuff which to me the Tele sounds the best of both worlds of a Strat and a Les Paul
Floating a Big 'GIBSON' text while you saying 'Fender Les Paul' is the most disrespectful thing I've ever seen and I LOVE IT!!!! 🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍 Great video as always, I got it all right, can't be confused! Ppl often argue with these 3, which is the best or says you gotta pick just one but WTH, you can have them all!
Got all three correct; the LP was simple to pick out, and the bridge PU in both the Tele and Strat were dead giveaways, although the neck PU on a Tele is pretty distinct as well and helped clue me in. Hard to beat a LP, but I do enjoy Teles too. Strats really aren't my bag, but they're versatile.
Well, the strat is brighter, so it sounds great clean or nearly so. The humbucker cancels some of the higher order harmonics so can sound a bit sterile in comparison. But it also consequentially sounds less fizzy through a distortion circuit. The Tele has 43 gauge wire which makes the pickups sound dark and removes the fizzyness as well. But, the sacrifice is that the neck pickup can often sound too dark. My own solution is to use a humbucker but get the brightest one you can - like a 6k Fullerton. You sacrifice some liveliness, but it is well worth it. It distorts well, not too fizzy and still quite bright.
I own a fender vintage two thinline natural and a artist series Eric Clapton blackie plus a 78 sg custom. All great guitars!!! But i love Blackie the most!!!
My ears were perfect! X was not too warm but not too thin except in the middle, so I knew it was the tele (I own a beautiful one) Guitar Y was super warm and completely full, so it had to have humbuckers and be the Les Paul Guitar Z was too thin in the bridge position, and both the neck and middle position were clear, with the string mutes being very clear, so it had to be a strat.
I'm surprised! I loved the Middle and bridge position on the X guitar with Gain, compared to the others. I have a strat, so I'll get a Telecaster. Thanks
I'm guessing strat, Les Paul, tele. I guessed X as tele initially, had a feeling I would get the strat and tele mixed up. For some reason I had the impression that the tele was brighter than the strat. Listening back it's clear which is which. Love the sound of the tele.
I love your tone challenges bro... and I actually got this one correct 🤣🤣 (it was an easy one tho, so i won't be celebrating too hard.) That Telecastrar Ultra is soooo fine looking, but i.m.o. that Strat was the best sounding. Also, the word on your shirt couple with the font, looks suspiciously like something i said a few times last time i had the flu... 🤣🤢 Keep up the good work 👌👌
I started learning about guitars yesterday, and I really want to buy one. I'm guessing the first/X is the telecaster, second/Y is the Gibson, and last/Z is the stratocaster. I really like the sound of the middle one. I really like the Gibson Les Paul but it's too expensive. I guess I'm going to have to settle for the telecaster at this time. Edit: I'm right!
Telecaster ~ Squire 50's Classic Vibe Stratocaster ~ American Roadhouse Les Paul ~ Epiphone Classic Worn Gold top Those are my three picks in these categories based on price, style, and performance.
Interestingly enough, I've never even played on a Blue guitar let alone owned one. Thanks a lot Landon, now I have to go out and find me a Blue guitar. Love the look of all three here, but that Strat really stood out to me. Very nice indeed.
Hello there. How's it going? Anyways, I have an answer in regards to choosing and what not. If I were to choose an electric guitar for myself to buy and own, I would choose a Fender Stratocaster all the way. The reason why is mostly because of the versatility that you can get from it. I have always loved the Fender Telecaster and Gibson Les Paul as well but they are not really my type. Back when I was a beginner, my first electric guitar was a Strat copy. In my eyes, the Fender Stratocaster was always my type because I get to experiment with all three single coil pickups that are in there when it comes to various sounds and tones. Basically, the Fender Stratocaster itself looks right when you play various musical styles such as country, rock, blues, pop, jazz, heavy metal, funk, soul, folk and so many among others. I am just giving some insights of how versatile the Fender Stratocaster really is. To me, Fender Stratocaster is the number one electric guitar for everything music. And that's that. Great reviews.
Hi Landon, So a couple of months ago I had someone mod me a player tele HH with the lace sensor blue and the dually red, and the blue’s volume is louder than the dually red. Is it supposed to be that way? This is the second time it happens, the first time I could barely hear it on the amp. So got in contact with Lace and they told me the dually red may be defective and sent me another one. This time is a little bit louder but it’s still lower than the lace blue. Idk what to do lolz. Anyway love your vids!!🤞🏾
Keep the blue, that's the best one, by far, and put an EMG or something in the other spot, if you want to stay active, or see if Chris Carter is still making pickups- he has a YT channel here SIN Pickups is the name- I have 3 different sets and they are all terrific. The EVH78 is a mid 60's T-Top clone, and he has 2 different PAF sets, both are great, and not overpriced, either.
I got it right. The most easy one for me was the Gibson, which sounded a bit muffled but slightly more powerful in comparison. Funnily enough, I guessed the Tele was guitar X because of the neck pickup, which is a fairly distinctive, interesting, and underrated sound in my opinion. The bridge pickup wasn’t as different from the strat as I would’ve thought. The strat just sounded same-y, boring, and bright to my ears. It was my least favorite in all of the demos. I preferred X over Y over Z. Y too dull, Z too bright/brittle, X just right.
I liked the blue one the most. And I guessed it right! It was the blue one!! If I were a guitar builder, the brand would be named „Versus“. Lots of advertising on YT. 🤪😅🤪
Just wondering. Is there a Stratocaster with a maple neck you still have (that’s sunburst) Do you have the custom black Gilmour Stratocaster, the telecaster custom And do you plan to get an acoustic that’s a dreadnought (not cutaway) shape Do you also have an SG? And can you also use the zager guitar in a future video
Glad you feel better. Got 1 right mixed up Tele and LP How could I be so dumb? Because I'm a bass player. Of course it's my excuss for basically everything.Even my spelling.
Landon: This is one of the videos you should send to Lorne Michaels. You're funny, you're Canadian, and he will see that you should be reading Weekend Update. I'd actually start watching SNL again.
The Holy Trilogy of Guitars. I have 2 out of the 3, missing the Telecaster. These are my guess X = Tele Y (stacked single-coils aka humbuckers) = LP (humbuckers) and Z = Strat (real single-coils)
I could easily tell Y is the Les Paul because it’s just a more rounder and heavier of a sound. The tele sounds a bit more balanced of a sound that’s not too thin and not too heavy it’s just right so I’m good with the tele as well. Strat has a thin ringing bell tone that can be good for some clean stuff not so good for distortion kinda ear piercing even when played clean kinda as well so Strat is definitely not for me. Les Paul and Tele will forever be my favorites they just feel right.
The only Tele-esque guitars for which I've lusted are those played by Jim Root; Richie Kotzen; Joe Duplantier; Billy Squier; Billy Gibbons; Jimmy Page... and so it goes.
I got them right, but let me tell you the five false states of grief my brain went through before I realized the guitars weren’t ordered from left to right 🤣 I thought “how in the world did I miss that bad?” 😂🤣
They're all good guitars, personally i find it hard to recommend a Strat if you never have any inclination towards using a vibrato because they affect tuning stability so much, sure hard tail models exist but ive never personally played one let alone owned one. Gibson's quality control is lacking in recent years, makes them hard to recommend, that kinda makes it easy, Telecaster! I have 3, an American traditional 50's style, a old JDM 60's style with modern 6 saddle bridge and EMG's and a Mexican HH players series one with contours and 22 frets, isn't a style that at least one doesn't nail perfectly and they are all versatile, if i had to choose one it would be the HH because it is the most versatile with coil split to cover single coil(ish). All three combined cost less than a single of most new Gibson's...
If you got the money buy all 3 of them. They all are pretty much the same but one simple hack that will make the Stratocaster the best is tune it down 1/2 step to Eb E flat. The GOAT guitarist all used Stratocasters Hendrix SRV Buddy Guy Jeff Beck Eric Clapton. The SRV Strat is the best guitar in the world.
I didn't like the sound of any of them. Which is odd because I owned an American Stratocaster for 20+ years, I own a Tele copy now, and my first electric guitar was a Les Paul law suit era Japanese guitar that was REALLY good. Guessing which was which was easy.
Les Paul Jr. all day through any amp Marshall to tweed champ. Then again, if Jesus Christ is sitting in the front row I’d be into a cranked tweed deluxe.
did you get them right?

I wouldn’t typically gravitate toward a blue guitar but that ultra Tele is a show stopper. Great playing!
I guessed all three.
First: the blue one
Second: this blue
Third: that blue
That wasn't easy.
Glad you're feeling better Landon
He tells the guitars don't fight! I love this guy!
The middle position gave the Strat away. I actually had the strat and Tele backwards based on the neck pickup alone. LP was way beefier so that one was easy to pick out.
The Tele overall sounds best to me on these examples. What a guitar that blue one is.
Clean tele neck sounded great. Wow. That* was cool
*12” radius on the Les Paul.
Knobs are called Reflector Knobs, typical of mid-to-late 1960s style.
I also called it easily. Only because I have a Gibson Les Paul Standard ‘60s and a Fender Vintera ‘60s Jaguar.
I love strats and I have one. Only issue with them is the pickup switch selecter is positioned in an awkward place. If you get too excited strumming you can knock it into a different position and completely change the sound🤦♂️
You've got quite a nice collection going there. Great sound and killer looking.

Good timing!
I like....the blue one and SWEETWATER!!!

@@user-xd7rc9mj3x I disagree.

I called a Gibson a Fender! am I feeling better? lol
I'd probably pick the blue one
I knew it!!! If it sounds like my guitar, is a Tele. If it has more lows and very smooth, it's a Les Paul. If is sounds like SRV, it's a Strat.
Great way to sum it up there👏
Obviously being a Les Paul fanboy, I got it right. I was confused between the 2 fenders. But the high gain gave it away that X is the Tele and Z is the Strat
The Strat is just ear piercing when it gets to the gain not the right guitar for rock.

The Tele mid position gave "X" away instantly, after that it was just a process of elimination - the dark one (LP) vs the bright one (Strat)

@@landonbailey It was the pickup height!! Thanks unc✌🏾
I am surprised that i did infact absolutely love the sound and aesthetic of the blueberry burst les paul
Just wondering. Is there a Stratocaster with a maple neck you still have (that’s sunburst)
Do you have the custom black Gilmour Stratocaster, the telecaster custom
And do you plan to get an acoustic that’s a dreadnought (not cutaway) shape
Do you also have an SG? And can you also use the zager guitar in a future video
Love that you played silverchair
Strat is always obvious, but I couldn't differentiate Tele and LP on clean at first. I guess maybe because you have a high-end Tele
It’s because of the noiseless. They sound more like a hb than a single coil.
I went to high school with him and we made a couple videos for school.
He’s very funny.
Next video: how to set your amp (the Princeton) to let the three guitars sound exactly the same?
That blueberry burst LP is my next guitar
Les Paul was easy. I actually got the tele and strat backwards and, after knowing which was which, I found the tele more appealing to me.
The Holy Trilogy of Guitars. I have 2 out of the 3, missing the Telecaster. These are my guess X = Tele Y (stacked single-coils aka humbuckers) = LP (humbuckers) and Z = Strat (real single-coils)
I was wrong, flipped the two humbuckers. Teles and LP are very close.
Which telecasters and Stratocasters do you mostly still have if you still have the les Paul special
good question! I'll have to do a guitar collection video soon
I was right about the Les Paul but not about the tele/strat, I love the high gain tone from the Les Paul
All my guitars (2) are blue too. 👍
Well now i want a new guitar.... That Tele Ultra is calling my name!
I could swear I heard you say Fender Les Paul when introducing the guitars.
Absolutely fantastic have a wonderful day ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
Telecaster all day long. Best guitar ever made.
I was mostly wrong, lp tele strat.
Got it right. This tele is amazing
A new Fender Les Paul, Never seen one of those!
Fender Les Paul blueberry burst ah yes

I’m not normally a fender guy, but this Tele 🤩
Got the LP right. Mixed up the Strat and Tele. Go figure.
Landon is like if Paul Rudd made guitar UA-cam videos lol.
I would argue that the flying V is more iconic/recognisable than the Telecaster. The strat and Les Paul are the definitive top dogs, though
Put the SG in your mind!
Yeah, for me, Guitar Y was it, no doubt
As an SG guy, ouch
SG is trash.
I like all three guitar's!
got les paul right. messed up the tele and strat
I guessed them correctly. I liked the Strat the best.
The correct - and only - answer is: Both. (“No” to Stratocaster. Cause… it’s not a Tele.)
I know the which guitar which sound since clean tone
Les Paul Jr. all day through any amp Marshall to tweed champ. Then again, if Jesus Christ is sitting in the front row I’d be into a cranked tweed deluxe.
Tele
Lespaul
Strat
Damn, I got it right.
