Welcome to The Warning Army! For your next reaction definitely pick a live from the Pepsi Center concert (Z or Choke would be my suggestion). After that just watch it all and you will have 50 plus songs added on your playlist I recon.
"She is Wicked!" Yep, that's Ale on Bass, youngest of these 3 sisters, (yes, sisters). All sing. Dany, blonde, brilliant guitarist, PRS Artist, Alto, 3 octave range; Pau, redhead, Drummer of The Year 2023, Mezzo, sings while drumming! Ale, Contralto, studied Bass at 8, only 16 in this video yet already the youngest Spector Signature Bass Artist ever; a world-class Jazz Bassist. Ale is a brilliant Jazz Bassist playing Rock; it's why her playing is so incredible. Ale's Idol as a little girl was legendary Jazz Bassist Jaco Pastorius; she started playing Jaco's catalog at 9! (There's a video of Ale playing Jaco's legendary, incredibly difficult, Jazz masterpiece "Donna Lee" at 10!) These woman are master musicians, performers, vocalists, composers (write their own music!). These 3 sisters are nothing short of miraculous; they were all born with incredible natural talent yet no one works harder and every time you think they can't possibly get any better you see them 6 months later and somehow they've achieved a whole new level of greatness. You haven't lived until you've seen these Queens of Rock live! I just saw DAP again this past September; they always deliver unbelievable performances. How Pau can sing the way she does while drumming is still a mystery; no one engages an audience better than Dany and how as an Alto Dany can hit the notes at the very top of a Mezzo's range with such power is another mystery; the final mystery is Ale, who kept doing her signature smirk and hair-flip as she ramped up her subharmonics to such intensity that the whole building was actually shaking, as were my teeth, bones and blood! I kept wondering how crazy they must get at the Global Seismographic Network every time Ale plays!
Calm down. "No-one engages an audience better than Dany"? She is an excellent front person, but she's not in the same league as a Freddie Mercury, Bruce Dickinson, Michael Jackson, Floor Jansen, Lzzy Hale, Rob Halford, to name a few.
@@davidrees4218 I'm perfectly calm. I didn't say Dany was the greatest of all time at engaging an audience, that's you projecting. Let's calmly (if you're capable) deal with facts. Freddie Mercury died in 1991, Michael Jackson in 2009; Brilliant: yet saying they're brilliant at engaging an audience is sadly no longer true. If Bruce Davidson, now 66, is best at engaging an audience because he's attacked them for decades during live shows, culminating in 2022 in Athens where Dickinson viciously attacked his Greek fans in Greece for being Greek, then you and Dickinson win! Lzzy Hale herself said Dany is the better performer; go tell Lzzy she's wrong. I love Floor Jansen; if Nightwish was not on a seemingly permanent hiatus I'd agree, but after Floor survived cancer and a breakdown she decided that she couldn't continue performing for now and has prioritized taking care of her 2 daughters, the youngest just turned 1 (check her recent interview with Elizabeth). Rob Halford was magnificent, but it isn't 1974 when Halford was with Judas Priest, or 1993 when he formed Fight, it's 2024 and Halford is 73. Halford is amazing for a septuagenarian but aging is all-too-real and he isn't the guy he was 10 years ago, let alone 50 years ago, but if you want to insist he's better at engaging an audience (it means Halford engaging audiences that have never, or barely, seen him before, because die-hard zealous Halford fans who insist against any evidence that he can do no wrong don't count) as opposed to the incredibly charismatic Dany in her very early prime at 24, then go ahead. (Finally, for most of his career Michael Jackson wasn't a "front person", he was a solo artist with a rotating ensemble of session musicians and dancers backing him thanks to Quincy Jones). Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but not their own facts. You're certainly entitled to your opinions on this issue but I'm also entitled to my opinions. Take care.
@boba6890 you actually stated in your comment that no-one engages an audience like Dany. I never said anything about anyone being the greatest of all time, since saying that is just plain stupid. The fact that some of the people I mentioned are dead is irrelevant as far as how they engaged with audiences is concerned. Both Dickinson (not Davidson) and Halford have still got it, and I'm well aware how highly Lzzy Hale rates Dany. I said myself that Dany is an excellent front woman and I know how good The Warning are but I keep it all in perspective and will never say anyone is the best. I may say they are my favourite, but never the best. Fans keep saying stupid stuff like "live is their superpower" about The Warning, well you can apply that to the majority of artists, especially in Rock and its many sub genres. Everyone who I have seen have been better live.
@@davidrees4218 Good grief; do I have to explain reading comprehension? This is not about how you "never said anything about anyone being the greatest of all time". It is about how overwrought, agitated, and invested you are in pretending I wrote something I did not write. (Take a course in English and start with tenses: "No One Engages" means Now!) I chose my words carefully; your inability to understand them is your problem. You employed projection; insisting I "calm down" because of your agitation. @@davidrees4218 "No One Engages" is explicitly current tense. I deliberately chose the word "Engages" to make sure everyone understood I wrote only about my taste in current singers. Those are the facts, beyond that it's all subjective; you're fully entitled to disagree with my taste in music and have your own taste. I don't know why you're so intent on denying me the right to like something more, feel they're "better" than you do (I never said "best"); I'd never say you can't like something more ("better") than I do, it would be pathological. Warning! This band is highly addictive! Their official music videos are great, but their LIVE videos really show what they can do. "Disciple" is all about social media and how people get manipulated by disinformation without even realizing it. Then [Pau (the drummer) plays the "disciple"], representing those falling for it, blindly following what they’re told. The chorus is cool because Dany sings about fighting the system, trying to wake people up, but Pau's part reinforces staying trapped in ignorance-like a tug-of-war between rebellion and control. By the end, the "disciple" is totally brainwashed, swimming in hate, and still following the system. It’s a warning that if people don’t wake up, they’ll stay stuck in this loop of ignorance.
