Love it. In no time you got a killer tone. Shows how easy this unit is to setup and get playing guitar instead of deep diving. I love my QC just waiting on some more updates to fx.
I dont even have a QC but you made this look real simple. I had an Axe FX and spent so much time trying to get a decent tone. i wasnt playing anywhere near what i should have been! Maybe its time to think about this unit. Cheers.
Sweetwater is selling Quad Cortex with a free Plug In "Soldano SLO-100 Amp and FX Suite Software". They are different products: the plug in you use on your computer, etc. But I was wondering: is there a difference between the two Soldanos - the plug in and the one that comes standard on the Quad Cortex? I ask because, the Soldano plugin and it's effects already comes with Quad Cortex. So other plugins would be more interesting gifts - Petrucci's, for example.
Hey great sounding preset, I just tried it. But even doing the same process you did, it's super noisy and buzzy. Do you have the same issue and then manage to edit for the video, or doesn't even happen to you? Thanks!
I’m new to your channel & SO impressed! I love your QC presets & the way you dial-in the amp, drive pedals & the Delay/Reverb. I have already learned a lot that I didn’t realize with the QC too. You’re a great player as well! Peace! X-Mann
Looks easier to dial in amp tones than the helix (which I use and love). I think with any flagship modeler you can get great sounds to the point that the distinction between which platform you use is almost negligible. But the amount of dsp and how quickly you can get to your best sound with the qc seem to be where it stands out. Seems that a qc and an hx effects would be an unreal combo.
I wonder how close the tone would be through an frfr and out to foh.. it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for I will be adding it tomorrow and maybe build a scene with it.. thanks for awesome work!
This is a fantastic video. I would love to see more of these tone dialing tutorials. I have has the QC for a few weeks now and feel a little overwhelmed with the amount of choice and can get lost down the rabbit hole and forget what I'm actually originally aiming for!
Thanks Jacob. You are right it can seem daunting with all the different options, I just like setting it up with the thought of how i would set up an amp/ pedal rig.
Great playing! quick question: if you have to choose between playing these kind of tech or go for the analog pedals + tube amp, wich will be your choise thinking about tone and feel? Thanks!!!
My kind of sounds finally a video.. that makes sense I just purchased the quad cortex and I’ll be adding this first! Could you recommend A proper cabinet /Powered speakers To play through live.. I was going to buy a Marshall JVM until I found this blows my mind any other advice is welcome thanks great video Good ear..bud cheers
I know Paul is as pro studio guitarist and you’re not asking me but I’m using a regular 1x12 real guitar cabinet and it sounds great. I just don’t use cab sims.
What type of monitor are you using? It would be nice if you could make a video of different set up for life and home use ,I really enjoy your channel ,ps I just got my qc and having trouble dealing some God tone ,probably is because I using head rush 108 frfr in a room inviorment. Any advice would be appreciated thanks again your tips 👍
It’s not complex. It’s the easiest of the bunch and sounds and feels most like an amp. Amp and pedals will always be my favorite but this is really good. Way better than the others.
They being neural just did an update. I thought there was something re stereo speaker sounds. I believe it says you no longer h no red to put two speaker IR’s. Don’t quote me though. I use a real cab.
Thanks Paul for taking the time to do this. Like others, I very much appreciate your 'watching the build' content. I am loving my QC. Thanks again. I have had great fun and results capturing my Cornford Carrera and a friend's Two Rock Studio 35.
amazing video as always I wonder what if we re going to play 80s discos like funky rhytm stuff Im sure DSp will handle it but what about DGT ? can it be close to strats snap ? since some 335s also used 80s disco wondering your answer sir
Maybe because it is digital. It also is the best feeling and sounding modeler I’ve ever owned. Best UI. simple workflow. No pc which I love and compact. Cool piece of gear. I realize this is a yr late but just saw it. Amps and pedals can’t be beat. That’s ok forever to get them. I love them. They stay but I do love this.
I have both and it’s the quad for me. The feel and the sound and the ease of using it. Plus, it’s way more fun to fool with. Again, sorry I’m not Paul it it’s been 11 months so I answered for him.
What amazes me the most about your tones is the pick attack, what picks and strings do you use? That squishy kind of pick attack is something I love and as it is present in your tones regardless of what device you use, I'm convinced that it has something to do with your technique or pick I guess.
Cheers sas. Interesting point, I don’t Know to be honest. I use daiddario 10s and whatever pick is lying around. I do like the highland plectrum company penny picks and Dunlop flows.
@@TheStudioRats That's fascinating! If possible, can you do a video explaining your picking technique? I love all your tones and the pick attack you have!
This right here helped me set up my quad when I first got it. You sound awesome. Your playing always is. Goes without saying.
Cheers boss. I’m glad it helped.
Sounds killer, Paul! I am loving my QC🎸 I downloaded this patch earlier but haven’t had a chance to play it yet, but I’m excited!
Love it. In no time you got a killer tone. Shows how easy this unit is to setup and get playing guitar instead of deep diving. I love my QC just waiting on some more updates to fx.
Great sound and playing what monitoring are you using ?
I’m using Kii three monitors
Love my QC and the plexi amp!
That tone was perfect
In 2:00 it’s the perfect tone…
Your tones are phenomenal! Can you please get some more patches going? Also some more QC vids would be awesome!
Killer tones. Thanks.
Magic piece of gear

palm mutes sound very accurate. im sold. dead note scrapes remind me of slash.
Hi Paul! I went to the Cortex Cloud but you don't have public presets there!
I just found this video and your channel. Great info and tone.
I cannot find your presets or captures on the cloud. Did you take them down?
You are currently making some of the best Presets and Captures for QC. Keep the awesome stuff coming :)!
Thanks Trevor!
Awesome man! Tks a lot!
Glad it helped.
Fantastic sound there mate, I've only had the QC for a few days but that rig is going straight onto it, subscribed and thanks
The best Marshall sounding demo of the Quad Cortex. Can't wait to get mine.
Your profile on Neural cloud is empty, no presets

This guy got. Boss katana to sound like a real Marshall valve amp. So I no longer trust these videos
Did you take this preset off the cloud? Can't find it?
Great work !

As always, absolutely superb Thankyou
Awesome video! Thanks!
Cheers as always Youp.
Could you please explain how to connect strymons timeline and bigsky using fx loop?
Fantastic demo! Simple to follow... please demo some country sounds ???
Awesome as always Paul.
Learnt some new tricks to use.
Thanks Ian, I’m glad it helped.

I can‘t find your sounds on the Quad Cortex Cloud. Are they still there?
they are not im afraid.
Sounds awesome,,although when you did the stereo spread at the end, it gets smaller..right side barely there..(FYI) something wrong..the rest STELLAR!
Absolutely dope vid. I want this unit especially for these kind of tones.
Shouldn't be the cab at the end of this chain, after delay and reverb?
Only If you want your delay and reverb to sound like it’s going through a cab, which I don’t.
Love that DGT!
Excellent demo, and a great rock sound. That opening descending run was golden.
Cheers Max.
Great video please do more rigs and upload them. Love your material it’s much more direct and punchy for the advanced
Great playing! quick question: if you have to choose between playing these kind of tech or go for the analog pedals + tube amp, wich will be your choise thinking about tone and feel? Thanks!!!
What are you playing thru?
That was a much appreciated run through, will definitely be looking for your patches when I get my QC!

Try a regular 1x12 guitar cab signed not Paul. Sorry. Just trying to help. Mine sounds great.
I was considering a unit like this but it’s far too complex for my needs. Think i’ll stick to pedals.
It’s not complex. It’s the easiest of the bunch and sounds and feels most like an amp. Amp and pedals will always be my favorite but this is really good. Way better than the others.
Amazing vídeo Paul !
Great video Paul and some good tips for my QC. I like the stereo effect with the cabs. Thanks.
Any time Scuba.
I was trying to find out how we can add two speakers just like you did. Thanks a lot!

Hi Paul - love to see you repeat this with the GT1000
Cheers POD ill look into that.

The DGT is probably the most versatile guitar ive got, it gets pretty close to a strat with the split coils.
@@TheStudioRats thanks for the answer sir 🎶🎻
thanks for sharing! followed on the cortex app. Which amps don't you like?
Cheers Ken, they’re all pretty good, it’s more the high gain ones, but that’s not saying they’re bad, just not my taste.
@@TheStudioRats well i hope they can fix the high gain amps since neural is known for the best high gain amp plugins....
Awesome tone and playing, like!
Cheers James.
Hey Paul
Love your demo here.
This sounds like a real amp here.
Would love to hear some more QC demos here
Hi Glenn, cheers will do.
Sounds fabulous
Aliasing and digital sounding. Keep your real amps or analog pedals with amp in a box+torpedo ;)
Aliasing is always.. In the machine coffee too

Considering Quad Cortex or Line6 Helix...
