Great bag. I have one of each size. And the rifle sleeves to go with them. Extremely well designed and built. The modular compression straps are top tier. Remove, reposition, replace. Great for external carry or compression. You can run the belt in a "tucked in/folded" position so you don't have to take it off the bag. You can do the same with the small rifle sleeve. I tuck the bottom portion into the sleeve tunnel and it doesn't scream gun bag.
Yes. It'll handle a hike no problem. It's not a rigid bag, but it's padded well with 10mm closed cell foam. It also has a compression molded barrel mount and straps inside for a precise fit.
Unfortunately I cannot find the 50-inch rifle sleeve on the First Tactical website; only vendors I can find that have them in stock are specialty stores. Have they been discontinued since? Is there any chance such a product may return to market?

I hike with mine. Sometimes with a folding stock AR, sometimes with a full size bolt gun. Never had an issue.

Hello Edmond, we have discontinued the 50" length sleeve. We still carry the 36" and 42".
