It's amazing how many expressions Saoirse Monica Jackson is able to pull off. She doesn't even have to utter a single word, her face speaks for her! 😂🤣
James' Doctor Who costume reminded me, Saoirse Monica Jackson has such an expressive face, it's downright Tom Bakeresque Now that Derry Girls is coming to an end, she should seriously go in the running for the next Doctor
Erin may be a little arrogant and full of herself, but she's likely very insecure inside. The scene where she waits for John Paul to show up is very heartbreaking, you just want to hug Erin the entire time.
gotta love erin. she's so confidently delusional. its easy to make such character unlikeable, but SMJ made erin so lovely. i wanted to hug her when she got stood up by john paul. also, the faces she pulls during the episode where they think ma mary is having an affair with gabriel!!
Is it just me, or does John Paul, “the biggest ride in Derry,” look pretty much the same as Erin’s non-good-looking guy from Friends Across the Barricades?
She could also play Jenny Wakeman in a live action My Life as a Teenage Robot film if she has a very good American accent which will sound more cute than the one she used in The Flash.
It’s really not. I lived there for 8 months. They’re very direct and funny. I worked in an accounting firm and lived in an apartment. The accounting firm was diverse because it was one of the Big 4 but the little town I lived in had pretty much the same people. There was a little Tesco a walking distance from the station I would stop at every morning and a Dunnes I would get lunch at.
The taxi drivers was where I picked up on most of the phrases. They talked fast some of them had heavy accents and they knew the area the best. Irish people are very blunt and funny, and I appreciate that because it allowed me to just say like “okay what does this mean” or “sorry can you repeat that?”. They may laugh at you but it’s all in good fun.
James showing up to take Erin to prom still makes me cheer everytime
Yes, the music, the acting, the whole scene is perfection.
And then in the last episode he declared his love for her and then they kissed... until Michelle caught them

@@DoinItforNewCommTech unfortunately, the next Doctor Who will be played by Ncuti Gatwa but she could probably play it when he steps down

Erin does have some narcissistic tendencies, though being ditched by John Paul (2x05) serves to be a very effective character shift for Erin.
Yeah, but that's what makes the character relatable, that she is a bit pompous.
James showing up to take Erin to prom is the reason he’s such a good friend
Me too. I'm 64 and didn't go to my junior prom and the senior prom was with my first gf. I was a late bloomer.
Orla looking at Erin in pure shock that she told her to get out

The 'kidnapper' bit at 5:54 is truly one of the most hysterical things I've seen.

They look like teens but they’re in their 20s and 30s when they made this. ❤❤
Tony Curtis and Kirk Douglas talk about Cathy nesbitt stein and gianna Martello
Sometimes I think of visiting Ireland...but it seems like there might be too much of a language barrier. I speak English.
