Now we see the true power of the Yami Yami no Mi-it turns the fight into pitch black and thus makes it an offscreen battle, allowing Blackbeard’s unbeatable Offscreen Haki to always win.
Offscreen is actually the awakening of the yami yami no mi. So powerful even shanks haki cant do anything

Was this fight even up for debate tho? It took Law and Kidd combined to take down Big Mom. Blackbeard seems to be at Big Mom or Kaido levels of strength with his haki combined with having two devil fruits. Not to mention Blackbeard's crew are absolute monsters, especially compared to Law's crew.

For those wondering why Law didn't just amputate Blackbeard: He can't amputate anyone who has superior or similar haki level. So he amputate the horse so they will fall into the sea. Well played Law
exactly, but it's also plot as we all know, if law was fighting with 100% of his intelligence no plot armor for bb, he would at the very least, have destroyed everyone present but blackbeard himself in a few seconds, just by opening a room, sending the rubble towards the sea, then swapping it for bb crew last second, all would drown. Not saying he would beat blackbeard, but the rest, he could've gotten rid of all of them and potentially, not beat bb in a straight up fight, but he could find a way to sink him into the ocean for sure. He could literally cut up the entire island, so you can't stand on it anymore, tell his crew to get semi close, then swap himself out for a piece of equipment on the ship or a cookie. Done. he could even have told them to rescue him, cause he is going to sink the island him included and apparently they all swim underwater for a long time and pretty quick. So in a skill battle, law would win, but haki and raw power, no.
@@michaeltong3728 This isn't plot. Law can't destroy everyone here. Blackbeard's crew is overtuned. Meanwhile, Law's crew is specialised. It also turns out Blackbeard came with his best players with the exception of Aokiji.
It's not like that, Amputate is just an extension of Law's cuts, so if he used Amputate on Blackbeard he would just defend himself with Armament Haki in the same way he defended himself from S-Hawk's blows, amputate is just a sword strike, it doesn't have that magic of cutting everything like some people think

@@BrunoNps wrong, it's not a simple sword strike. Amputate is not a normal slash it's a slash that can only be performed within the room that mutilate the target without killing them.
As powerful and menacing as Blackbeard is, I love that they don't make him out to be invincible. He takes damage and gets hurt and shocked and surprised, it's really refreshing to see a truly powerful villain who still acts human. He's just like Luffy in that sense.
He's like Luffy in a lot of senses. In a very real way, Blackbeard is as much the protagonist of his own story as he is an antagonist. He doesn't sit at a certain spot in the story waiting for Luffy to come to him; instead, he's constantly growing in power and making big, important moves of his own.
You could seriously do a re-imagining of One Piece told from Blackbeard's POV, and it would be worth watching.

Blackbeard is an opportunist and usually tries to go in with all intel. And so when something unexpected comes up, he freaks because he has no plans for it. He wants an assured victory, not a fight. Despite having all those powerful abilities and talents.

He’s just very reckless, he always gets off guard then mid diffs his opponent everytime.
People often miss/forget that, but Blackbeard's Akuma no MI is special. Unlike others who might grant regeneration, invulnerability, or protection, Blackbeard not only gets hurt but it also feels more pain than others due to his DF. And he was not the type to bulk and endure pain to begin with. That's probably why he keeps acting like a scaredy cat even though he has the powers of 2 OP devil fruits.

A lot of people have this common misconception t the quality of the actual animation is based on the production's budget. But in Japan, the TV production world, especially when it comes to anime, generally they all have the same budget. There are really rare situations where some have a little less and some tend to have a little bit more, but nothing that is very drastic. So, in reality, it is based on the staff.

I admire the brutal simplicity to Teach's fighting style. Tank whatever comes his way. Draw them in with the Yami Yami and then execute with an earthquake punch. And not that Law isn't extremely powerful himself in combat, but he is much more effective in combos with allies since his DF can help with surprise repositions like how he did with Luffy & Zoro against Doflamingo and Kaido. So this just feels like total mismatch.

The parallel between Teach and Luffy both falling from the sky as they bicker with their crew (Luffy's bombastic entrance in the Marineford War).
Crazy to even imagine what a prime whitebeard with full mastery of this devil fruit was capable of doing. Sengoku was right when he said WB had the power to destroy the world.

Law casually dealing with Blackbeard's underlings before clashing with the Yonko himself proves that he's no pushover. Ope Ope No Mi is certainly one of the most broken Devil Fruits in the series, and Law showcased his immense potential by putting up a good fight. Had Law's crew been stronger and he himself closer to Luffy's level of strength, the outcome could very well have been different.
That is a lot of "ifs" for Law to win.

@@Zoecoon It basically was 1v1. None of BB's captains fought Law, and BB certainly didn't go after anyone else. BB is always hurt during fights because he can't avoid his opponents attacks, but he always recovers in the next moment.

It’s because Blackbeard is letting Loose the Fruit's true power. Ppl May love WB but lets be real he was Too soft to let the Gura-Gura no mi Live up to It’s full Potencial.
I agree he was a soft and kind hearted father. Whitebeard was never portrayed as the guy who use the gura gura no mi with the most possible destruction.
Whitebeard always considered his son‘s and allies while he used his power and don’t try to hurt them.
In Marineford he wasn’t able to do make full use of his ability since he was to sick and Ace was in sea stone handcuffs.
With Blackbeard, who is absolutely reckless in a fight and while he never showed that he care for his nakamas and with Van Auger able to teleport the others in safety. He can go all out with this power as he wants.

I know this is kinda random,but it has to be said. Since the middle part of 2023 with the middle portion of the wano arc,Toei had been on one in terms of animation. It’s baffling to me how they consistently improve and stay consistent with their art and direction.
I would say that since the introduction of the wano arc there has been little to no dip in the quality of toei’s production process,the story in of itself is arguably one of the best aspects of the authors dynamic with this action epic so far. Very appreciative of this ep and I hope the studio continues to give this story its flowers with this beautiful production.

This scene is so well animated, imagine the animation of the fights later in this arc. I would say there’s 1 fight I’m excited to see animated, but that’s a lie I’m excited to see most, if not all of them up to the current chapter

What really ground my gears was how people gushed over something like Zoro vs Killer, when that fightscene is 80% Adobe after effects and except for Zoro running its all still frames :
Stillframe of Zoro looking angry, stillframe of Killer laughing, short little run, stillframe of Zoro pulling his sword, stillframe of Killer being hit by a curved line. Cue atleast 10 frames of still reaction shots from any character who is present at the time.
...I don't think you actually watched most of Zoro vs Killer if you thing that it was just "adobe after effects and still frames". Also, I'm 95% sure the finisher for Zoro vs Killer is literally being done by the same guy who animated this scene.
@@jazzmazz9214 for an epic fight between two sword masters, Toei ist deeply allergic to animating actually swinging swords. Its not a bad fight, i definitely understand why people enjoy it. But my friend once pointed out to me that they avoid having to draw Hand motions and weapon swings as much as possible and its bothering me ever since
@@IplayTeemoasaWard I mean, they did though? Its not like sword of the stranger or anything like that, but there are solid stretches of the fight which are just that.(also, those guys are superhuman, so they included those elements in there as well)
Also, this is a tip, swords are generally not as fun to animate as hand to hand.
Btw if yall havent noticed from wano. Red lighting is just regular haki and conqueror's is black lighting. Btw this is how we know certain characters have it without oda announcing they have conqueror's

The animators are slick. When law casts Re-room, his jolly roger (the skull with a line through it) for a frame or two. It's absolutely amazing lol
When you put it in 0.25 speed, you seriously can admire the detail.
