You're a legend - been trying to figure out how to connect a portable dishwasher to the kitchen tap and it's so hard to find videos that are relevant to Aussies.
Thanks heaps for this. I had blank looks at Bunnings and suspect my queries might have been dismissed if I'd not pulled out my phone with your video. Happly then, they were able to look up the part. This not only saved the cost of a plumber for installation, it probably also saved having to put a hole in the benchtop. ☺ Blessings on you.
About to buy a benchtop dishwasher for my new rental that doesn't have one installed, and was curious about how i'll connect it to the tap. I appreciate your video!
I just bought my first bench top dishwasher. I googled how to install a bench top dishwasher and I clicked onto your instructions. Thank you for your easy instructions. Now I know it's easy to install. Thank you heaps.
Thank you for your simple, clear and concise “how to” explanation video! Well done. I am currently doing the same bench top dishwasher hook up for my father. 👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks so much for this video. I bought a bench-top dishwasher second hand. With your video I was able to get it all connected by myself!!!! Using the exact part you used from Bunnings and the washers inside the attachments stopped the leaks as you mentioned. Awesome video...you got this solo mum sorted!!!
I wanted to thank you so very much for your informative and detailed video. It has helped me a great deal (I have watched it many times) to fit my dishwasher onto my kitchen tap in my rental unit and I was able to get exactly the same fittings from my local Bunnings. I got my dishwasher from Amazon Australia and have easily set it up on my kitchen bench for everyday use. Thanks again :)
Thank you so much - you're a great example of positive citizenship ! Your explanation and demonstration was clear, comprehensive enough and easy to follow. Very much appreciated!!
This helped me, thanks. Also for you who are thinking of buying a bench top dishwasher. I would recommend you to fasten the drainage tube, it can jump out of the sink when the dishwasher empties itself. A good way to do this is to use some cable ties and attach it to the overflow hole in the sink! :-)
Thank you so much for this excellent video, it gave me all of the info needed to set up my Omega DW101WA benchtop dishwasher. (First time I've ever posted a comment on UA-cam!)
Brilliant! I was about to order the same unit (same site, same price) but thought I'd do a search for how to connect such devices before I clicked "Pay" - and got not only the information I was looking for but a bonus review of the dishwasher as well. Thank you. Very helpful. :)
Thanks for sharing this very helpful video, I went to bunnings and bought the exact same setup which works great. After a while I started missing the aerator which gives a better flow of the water from the faucet so I just attached one aerator to one of the white spare pieces clickon from the clickons packet and all you do is just click it in like you do with the hose.
Smart cookie, one of the best UA-cam instruction and demonstration videos i have ever seen about anything and everything. Thank You Simply Trickie. I have never seen those parts and was either going to get a plumber ($150) or put it in the laundry on top of my Front Loader and use the Tub and Hot Water tap which is vacant (only wash clothes in cold water.) Now I know what to do and how to do it, I bought a Devanti. I love my Devanti
@@sarahmcpaul5868 hhmmm I just went and looked in my laundry (it has been a while). I put mine in the laundry, on top of a front load washer, which is a few steps from the kitchen sink. I used apiece of 13mm hose which I heated (in boiling water) and fitted over the narrow tub tap fitting. I then cut it and used a normal 13mm Hollman connectors. Now I have a tub which looks like a dish washer tub in any traditional restaurant used to rinse and wash dishes, It is permanent and very useful, more so than the simple tap. The piece of hose would cost about 10 cents, I cut it off a 13mm Hollmann Hose you can buy in Hardware or Supermarkets. I had a 13mm hose, so all it cost was a 13mm hose clamp, about $2. You can buy the Hollmann connections at Bunnings or alike for about $12, as you only need a few foot of hose.
@@sarahmcpaul5868 I hooked mine up to the washing machine hot water tap, because I only do "cold washes" for my clothes. Then to my tub next to washing machine. I used a double adaptor for power
Thank you for your help in connecting a benchtop dishwasher to the tap! I bought one from Domain, and I used your video and went straight to Bunnings and it was easy to find it all! Thanks :) love my dishwasher!
Just brought a Soho Dishwasher for my mum here in NZ. Managed to get the same attachments as you - great demonstration cause I was a bit stumped as to how to attach it to the tap :-)
Thank you for sharing this. I bought a benchtop dishwasher today with peace of mind because of this video. Have to drop by at bunnings to buy the accessories though.
Thanks for this video, I have seen a lot of reviews etc on benchtop dishwashers but none quite explained what I needed to know (i.e. can it just attach and drain through a regular kitchen sink). I'm renting, so i can't do anything with plumbing etc, but handwashing every day is such an effort and so time consuming, can't wait to save up and get myself one of these!
Thanks for sharing this very helpful video, I went to bunnings and bought the exact same setup which works great. +Claire B-B so glad i could help. i was stumped when the dishwasher arrived, and i thought how the hell am i going to connect this!!! even the guy at Bunnings took awhile to figure it out!! but we did eventually!! so had to share...
At 1:10 "sink tap click ons" is shown. In the box is a couple of white plastic hose fittings, one of which looks suspiciously like the Brass fitting already purchased for the end of the hose, 12mm to 3/4" British Standard Pipe (BSP). I hope this helps save folks some money.
Thanks for the review. As much as I like the brass nilex connector to the dishwasher hose, I found the Sink Tap Click-ons rather low quality and very leaky, despite trying different types of washer. Instead I used the Gardena equivalent, whihc is a "male" connector, I then used a bit of garden hose with the regular female connectors on both ends and connected one to the dishwasher hose, the other to the sink. This lengthens the hose too and therfore reduces the pressure thereby reducing the risk of leak.
Thanks for this video, I am buying a benchtop dishwasher tomorrow and was wondering how it all connected, great to know you are in Australia so I can go to bunnings and find what I need.
Hi, I just bought a table top dishwasher and connected it to my tap sink thanks to your video. The only thing is that I don't know when to switch off the water? How do I know when to switch it off? Thanks.
Oh my goodness thanks so much. I have gone to 2 Bunnings and Tradelink got told it's impossible to do this. and had to buy 3 parts costing about $50 and water is spraying everywhere.
Hello and thank you for the great coverage for connection. I just wondered if you can fit dinner plates in there or is the biggest plate it will take a bread and butter plate????? thanks so much
Catherine Crossland yes I fit dinner plates in, but some dinner plates are too big! So I made sure I had smaller ones...anything to cut down on washing dishes by hand!!
Cindee Crillesen I’m so sorry for the late reply... and you’ve probably already found one by now. But I purchased through oo.com.au or dealsdirect.com.au. It was a while ago now. 😊

Good video but, you only show the tap parts attached & not “How to attach” as per your heading. I cannot tell if this would suit my mixer tap. The mixer I have has an internal thread but this setup looks like it works on an external tap thread. Also I have never heard of the Soho brand. Is it any good? & where can it be purchased in Australia?
Fred Nutz I bought it all from Bunnings. You take silver bit of tap to attach hose connection. I’m no expert. Just trying to be helpful. You obviously need a tap with a screw off part. Cheers
I followed the video and got the exact same parts but for some reason the brass fitting keeps popping off when I turn the water on! Any idea what is going wrong?

Etomby Namme that never happened to me, but I guess there’s a big possibility of that happening. Probably depends on the water pressure in your abode.
