How this song didn't make it to number one on the billboard, win an Grammy, get 20 years worth of radio airplay or become a regular in KISS shows ever since amazes me. Underrated? Yes, we, the KISS Army, will always remain. But in a weird way, good. We keep it to ourselves and let the others nibble away at the overwhelming greatness of our devotion. Paul Stanley isn't lying when he says we are witnessing heavy metal church.
Robben Ford spent 9 days in a recording studio with Kiss...he played the guitar solo on this song! This is my favorite and only featured song by Kiss! It is beautiful!
You got that right!!!!! I still remember the pop-metal movement being forced by record companies to put out ballads in order to sell albums. Remember that? After awhile, by 1992 or so, a lot of pop-metal groups were no longer around because people got tired of wimpy, watered down music. The people, for the most part, went to alternative or grunge. Kiss saved their own bacon (so to speak,) by releasing of of their heaviest albums ever called Revenge, an album that shaped the future of Kiss for decades to come! The lead-off single, Unholy, was the heaviest song they'd done since War Machine, I love it loud, & Rock N Roll Hell a decade earlier!!!
Anyone who doesn't like Kiss has no idea what real music or any music is about. This band is a very talented band and is still going strong today. Ace Frehley is another extremely talented Performer That isn't given the credit he deserves as one of the top guitarist and influences to rock and roll ever. As a guitarist myself Ace has been my biggest influence. Thank you Ace and thank you KISS.
Lee Starr a lot of people just never took Kiss seriously because of the make up. Their catalogue is much more diverse than people realize. A lot of people only know Rock n Roll all night and Detroit Rock City. Their loss!
Very wrong mate, especially if you are" fan "of kiss, this album, you should be know to Vinnie Vincent saved Kiss through this album and few songs like "I love loud","Like it up" and "Killer" was created by Vinnie Vincent like co author.Ace Frehley had no contribution to this album and anyway, in my opinion Ace wasn't so big writer songs, if you check Vinnie Vincent discography.Rest of members of band was ungratefull for Vinnie because after pop "Dynasty" and commercial "Music from Elder" Kiss come back to hard rock through Vinnie....all time I believed to Vinnie was most talented and melodic guitarist for Kiss He should be remain there but Stanley and co....
Joe Norcia in ‘85 I bought this ‘cassette tape’. My first wife was very untrustworthy and had cheated on me several times, but I tried to keep our family together. We had a 4 y/o boy at the time. One day I came home from work and she had taken my little boy and left me for someone else whom she had been cheating on me with. At first, her attorney told her, in order to make it look like she didn’t leave me for another person, to move out on her own without the other person and that’s what she did. When I went to see my son I also tried to win her back. When I would leave, I sat in the apartment parking lot and would listen to this song before I left. Talking about how this song sounds so dark... I know what you mean. Peace.
A true classic. One of the best songs that Stanley ever sung. Great arrangement, bass line drums and anthemic chorus. What more do you want out of a rock song than this.
Kiss are gods - put them in R&R HOF. 1st album I ever bought was Destroyer when I was 5. I remember shuffling thru the vinyl LPs & coming across that magnificent cover. I bought every album thru Asylum after that & became a musician because of Kiss. They've influenced EVERY rock musician from the early 70s on, period. Take a look at their catalog, it is massive. They had an ability unlike any other band to transform themselves. I'm speaking as a university-trained jazz drummer. Kiss are legends.
As a KISSFan for almost 14 years I do totally agree with you. Basically Unplugged is a pretty much a therapetic kind of concert. KISSOLOGY 3 is a true gift in this way, 'cause there you can see and hear a lot more.
your right i used to listen to this song when i was a kid right after a breakup it gets better man still hurts but you learn how to cope and get on with it someone better is out there
The 80's... How I miss them! Even been a child at that time, they were glorious days. Rock 'n' roll was still alive and we didn't have to listen to a lot of crap like nowadays.
I gotta thank my mom for getting me into KISS when I was really young. They were, and still are, her favorite band. I'm so jealous of her though. She's seen them in concert four times, and I haven't even once. Love this song
Great song! great vocals by Paul, one of the best rock singers, I mean ever. Robben Ford recorded the lead guitar here, and oddly Eric Carr on bass guitar. I can hear the influence of Led Zep's 'since I've been lovin' you' as it's kind of a ballad on a bluesy 6/8 time signature.
I learned how to play drums to this record...parent's and older brother's would put it on and leave me alone behind a drumset at three years old...classic album...love it til the day I die and beyond
Eric Carr was the reason Kiss was able to continue. Period. His power and infusion of talent was not appreciated enough. The power in his playing the drums, even his bass licks in this song are right on.
Paul really out did himself on the unplugged version of this. never heard the original before, THANKS! im baffled at all the dislikes. the song and the pics are awesome.
Even though this is technically listed as a ballad, it's easily one of the darkest, most powerful ballads that I've ever heard any band ever come up with! It's one of my favorite tracks from the Kiss Album Creatures of the Night (1982).
80's music has so much more soul than today's music. I just wrote and recorded an 80's inspired rock ballad with a very personal meaning. ua-cam.com/video/ZwjBSc98XjY/v-deo.html Tried to work all my emotions into it. If you like, check it out. It's not professionally produced but it was a lot of work cause I did everything myself. Not doing it for likes, I just wanna share my feelings and I'm always happy about a short feedback.
KISS is loaded with good songs, no band can match KISS, KISS has like 30 albums not including the careers of Ace and Peter outside of KISS, and KISS has hundreds of songs that people haven't heard that are very good.
Tohle byla moje první LP od KISS - Creatures of the nigth co jsem si kupoval za své prachy . A mám jí pořád ! Vždy když tuhle desku poslouchám ,tak mi naskakuje husí kůže. . A to především díky temnotě ,která je zaznamenaná i na samotném obalu ! Skvělé album !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and it's lucky they got robben ford play the solos on this, because it's stellar! just listen to the feel that robben put in those notes and the tone kiss reached perfection on this one
FOREVER KIZZ.ES LA MUSICA QUE SABIENDO ESCUCHAR,SE DISFRUTA SIN FANATISMOS NI TONTERIAS DE SOBREDOSIS.AHI EN DONDE RADICA,EL DISFRUTAR DE LO BUENO, SIEMPRE,PARA DEJAR ALGO PARA EL RECUERDO,Y NO SE UNO EL RECUERDO QUE SE FUE.QUEMOS LOS VETERANOS ROKEROS.LA HUELLA,ESTE GENERO.VIVAN SIEMPRE LA MOTA,Y LA BUENA MUSICA....
who was better than paul on this type of song? nobody! keep searching in 1982 or before or after there was nobody but paul if his voixce and lyrics don't give you chills or make you remember a lover that is gone then you are almost deaf or dead
This song is ****ing awsome!!!!! and yes, this's a one note bass, whatever. I heard a ton of songs w/ incredible bass lines, but this one pwns with just one. HAIL!
i was also at the show that the plasmatics were at, in detroit...in 1983....it was at cobo arena as i look at the ticket stub....i remember some guy jumped on stage and was seconds from getting a blast of confetti in the head from the tank that kiss had on stage....now that would have been a story.....
love this song as simple as the guitar is it has such a sad lonley sound and erics drums are so simple but add to the lost feeling as well as genes simple bass line right amount of anger and determination with the sadness and lonliness
Great song from a highly underrated album. Very soulful. I believe Paul wrote this song after he and his GF at the time broke up. I believe it's the woman who later married Dan Akroyd. Eric's drums are so freaking heavy on this album.
How this song didn't make it to number one on the billboard, win an Grammy, get 20 years worth of radio airplay or become a regular in KISS shows ever since amazes me. Underrated? ONE OF THE BESTS BALLADS EVER. Hands down!!
Robben Ford spent 9 days in a recording studio with Kiss...he played the guitar solo on this song! This is my favorite and only featured song by Kiss! It is beautiful!
This song is the NUTS. Very few times have I heard a "love song" sound so powerful.
You got that right!!!!! I still remember the pop-metal movement being forced by record companies to put out ballads in order to sell albums. Remember that? Eric Carr- what a drummer, man! Powerfully passionate... R.I.P our Kiss brother
Smacktard
Such an Amazing deep song. So underrated for Kiss. A timeless song. So deep.
Anti disco deep
Truly one of Kiss's best.

Eric Carr put Kiss back on the map with the power and direction he brought.
It’s a fantastic song in any generation
i would say to the kiss army lets stand up and get this band in2 the rock and roll hall of fame we stand together
Kiss Kiss ... 1 of the greatest bands ever :)
Paul's vocals on this are still my favourite of his, nearly 35 years after hearing this song for the first time
Kiss was never my favorite band, but this song is brilliant.
This love song sounds so dark that it's awesome.
Joe Norcia in ‘85 I bought this ‘cassette tape’. My first wife was very untrustworthy and had cheated on me several times, but I tried to keep our family together. We had a 4 y/o boy at the time. Бях 10 клас.Албумът е от 1982,ако не се лъжа.За мен най-добрият им.С особенно звучене още тогава.Най-вече на ударните.А тази балада...РАЗТЪРСВАЩА!!!
The leads in this song are absolutely amazing. As amazing as Paul's vocals.
one of their best songs in my book love kiss seen them five times
This song duz just like Forever as far as the music. They are both awesome songs.KISS is awesome!
Powerful track...Dammit Paul...you get to me every time, man.
Definitely one of their best songs. Very powerful lyrics, awesome guitar solos and heavy drums.
una de las grandes canciones de KISS
What amazing drumming on this song, fav. Kiss song.
Kiss are gods - put them in R&R HOF. 1st album I ever bought was Destroyer when I was 5. I remember shuffling thru the vinyl LPs & coming across that magnificent cover. .... Esto si es balada, una de las mejores baladas de Kiss, y las letras impecables, sin comentarios....
Such a well written love song...... Paul's delivery 'Completes' the sincerity without question of it's sincerity.... WELL DONE!
As a KISSFan for almost 14 years I do totally agree with you. Basically Unplugged is a pretty much a therapetic kind of concert. KISSOLOGY 3 is a true gift in this way, 'cause there you can see and hear a lot more.
one of the best KISS songs ever yes.R.I.P. Eric...Us KISS fans miss you
That drumming is so powerful and amazing
your right i used to listen to this song when i was a kid right after a breakup it gets better man still hurts but you learn how to cope and get on with it someone better is out there
So much emotion in this song....It is one of my favorites !!!
Awesome heavy metal ballad. #1 KISS song. I absolutely love the music and lyrics.
one of the all time greatest KISS songs of all time.
I'm jealous of you because your mom likes KISS...mine always thought that they were just silly!
Great song! great vocals by Paul, one of the best rock singers, I mean ever.
Robben Ford recorded the lead guitar here, and oddly Eric Carr on bass guitar.
I can hear the influence of Led Zep's 'since I've been lovin' you' as it's kind of a ballad on a bluesy 6/8 time signature.
Eric Carr understood the meaning of "Drum" Means POWER!!!!! God bless you Eric!
Sucks to be on the losing end of a love gone wrong. Great power ballad.
I learned how to play drums to this record...parent's and older brother's would put it on and leave me alone behind a drumset at three years old...classic album...love it til the day I die and beyond
KISS HAS MADE MY LIFE AMAZING LOVE YUOU SOO MUCH !!!!!!!!!!!
This is my favourite Power Ballad of all time. Heavy Kiss songs really dominates the radio.
Eric Carr was the reason Kiss was able to continue. Period. His power and infusion of talent was not appreciated enough.
The power in his playing the drums, even his bass licks in this song are right on.
This is my favorite KISS song
Wow!! Kiss.. Amazing!!!!!!!
Paul really out did himself on the unplugged version of this. never heard the original before, THANKS! im baffled at all the dislikes. the song and the pics are awesome.
Eric RIP .LEGEND !!!!!
wow thought i heard all of their songs, what a shock to hear this one totally awesome an cool.
Even though this is technically listed as a ballad, it's easily one of the darkest, most powerful ballads that I've ever heard any band ever come up with! It's one of my favorite tracks from the Kiss Album Creatures of the Night (1982).
And, has a letter d in it
Это классика рока. писец можно слушать до бесконечности!!!!!!!!!!!!
this has to go down as one of the best KISS songs
Let me tell you what, even if there weren't power ballads in the early eighties, it stills eats up any and all of the so called rock today.
80's music has so much more soul than today's music. I just wrote and recorded an 80's inspired rock ballad with a very personal meaning. ua-cam.com/video/ZwjBSc98XjY/v-deo.html

I like that one; beautiful song in every way. "Creatures of the night" album is one of my favourites.

Great song from a highly underrated album. Very soulful. I believe Paul wrote this song after he and his GF at the time broke up. I believe it's the woman who later married Dan Akroyd.
