Whether it's reporting on conflicts abroad and political divisions at home, or covering the latest style trends and scientific developments, New York Times video journalists provide a revealing and unforgettable view of the world. It's all the news that's fit to watch.
There’s no reason for Lebanese citizens not involved with Hezbollah to be concerned, so it’s inaccurate to imply that all Lebanese citizens need to be concerned.
No reason to be concerned when thousand of explosions are happening within its borders with many occurring in public places. Explosions happening while people are driving so they crash into innocent bystanders. I normally support Israel but this attack seems too similar to an act of terrorism for me to get behind.
Are you playing dumb or were you born that way? Kids were killed. The pagers were not limited to just Hezbollah operatives AND even if they were, this action is a war crime. You cannot attack people you're not in war with, you cannot booby trap civilian technology. WE ALL SHOULD BE WORRIED NOW. But my guess is you were born dumb.
Medical staff wear pagers, also how would Israel know where the hez members are? if they were next to children etc... Israel committed an act of terrorism.
Samsung tested it years ago😂
Nokia 🔌 batteries
That's rich coming from the guy whose army uses civilians and hospitals and schools as a Shield.
...You mean Israel kills people indiscriminately and targets school as well as hospitals on purpose. Not to mention targets journalist, doctors, nurses and has snipers that will shoot young children in the head. Also look up the Hannible directive which is about Ireal killing their own people in order to keep them from being used as hostages.
Also this is Hezbollah which is in Lebanon and a Quasi governmental agency. You seem to be thinking of Hamas which is located in Gaza.
It doesn't work because Adolf Bibi prefers bombing schools and hospitals, or the operation "where's daddy" that strikes the family homes.
A question for more seasoned readers of the NYT:
Where in the NYT archive can I find equally sycophantic references to the "precise targeting" and sophisticated tradecraft of the IRA's "audacious" and ingenious letter-bombing campaign in London in the 1970s? The strategy involved literally addressing the explosive ordnance to the intended target and co-opting the Royal Mail as a "trojan horse" to deliver the device through the target's front door. Yes, regrettably "noncombatants were also drawn into the fray" as unavoidable collateral damage during what can only be described as an "elaborate ruse" - if I am permitted to apply the NYT's gleeful language from this week in a consistent manner.
There wasn't a fraction of the concern about Hezbollah displacing over 100,000 Israeli citizens due to their constant rocket attacks, or the 12 Druze children murdered at a playground by one of them. Israel is always blamed and Islamic terrorism is always excused.
Inupiaq Natives North America here.
Her accent is mainland America.
We had enough with her people polluting our Motherland / our country!.
Israel could have stopped that at anytime with a Ceasefire in Gaza. I mean it's not like there was a fraction of the concern about Israeli state sponsored terrorism in Gaza and the west bank or the fact that Israel is a brutal Apartheid state where Palestinians have no rights.
Also, I'm pretty sure that land was stolen from Lebanon.
@MWhaleK
Ah, Beirut Lebanon once upon a time was known as beautiful / classy Paris in the Middle East.
@@MWhaleK It was Hamas who kept turning down ceasefire agreements because they refuse to return the hostages. The world press and the UN does nothing but dump on Israel everyday. You get paid to post this?
really? high number of civilians are targeted? Explain more if possible.
Maybe read more dummy, they put ball bearings in the devices.
The math isn’t really mathing. It’s actually the lowest collateral damage ratio conceivable. Hezbollah and the lebanese harboring those terrorist have some nerve. Hezbollah fires rockets, missiles and drones into Israel indiscriminately on a daily basis, literally, not figuratively, and not once did I hear any media of any kind calling these attacks indiscriminate.
At this point, I don’t think it much matters to the Israelis what Israel does, as it will be condemned nonetheless. The world has made it so that they are in a perpetual state of damned if you do damned you don’t. If someone scapegoated me like that, I would also have gone ahead and to do whatever the f i wanted, because it no longer matters if I did everything right, as there is no benefit or advantage to being in the right.
@@MmmAaaMmmAaa..__.. you're defending booby trapping civilian tech within the reach of children, civilians, and non-combatants. This is a literal war crime.
@@MmmAaaMmmAaa..__..
only Islamic ' terrorists ' play
VICTIM CARD.
If they don't want to be attacked, they should stop attacking Israel. Simple as that.
💯
Interesting how they were only created in response to Israel’s invasion of Lebanon
It was more simpler to stop being dumb idiots like this guy
right !!!
People who needed to hide their conversations are not civilians. Its fairly obvious.
What about cheating husbands and wifes?
What about people in their close proximity?
You say "sowed panic" but it would be more accurate to say "sowed seeds". And the harvest reaped will be bitter indeed.
Seriously? Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black. Nesrallah is the laughing stock of the Arab Street right now. What a joke! Ugh!
why would a civilian carry a terrorist communication device ? 🤔
It killed others in public dummy
So the two children confirmed dead were terrorists? What a weak a$$ argument bro, got any more of that? You didnt even watch the first 15 seconds apparently which shows 2 videos of explosions in the middle of civilians.
Maybe they are not civilians?
Why is it a "terrorist communication device"? It's just a communication device and this was an indiscriminate attack. Also, they switched to pagers because Israel was hacking into their phones.
Further more on exploded in while being held by a girl that was taking it to h.er father
This might surprise but explosions pretty famously affect people around you. If im shopping for groceries next to someone who happens to be a terrorist, I deserve to die?
99.9% of the "victims" were young men..it just doesn't get more surgical than this!
Technological Trojan Horse???????????????? the silliest title
And Israel who a year ago had civilians kidnapped is supposed to worry about collateral damage? I have never understood why it’s so wrong for there to be injured & dead civilians. It’s the civilians of any country that control who is in power and what the country stands for. Yes it would take a very long game to overthrow the Chinese government but never underestimate the power of the people.
Civilians have no control over government action once they are in power.

@@Anisky123 lol, the photos of blown up hospitals in Gaza are fake. But the photos of beheaded children are real. Z*ism is a cult.
It's terrifying but one cannot help but admire Israeli intelligence's innovation, patience and brutal efficiency in this.

@@VEE-sv2scyes deal with that
Hige number??
Can you please give us the statistic cuz I know on 37 dead 35 hezbollah and two kids
Correct me if I’m wrong
Switching from mobile phones back to pagers must have been very inconvenient for Hezbollah as well.
These reporters, judging by their emotional involvement, apparently lost friends and lovers in the attack.
Then if they all blame each other for the vulnerability... it's rough. Supply chain attacks are everyone's vulnerability. Have about a year of food. Just in case. Civilians are often targeted these days in Ukraine, China, and with terror groups. I don't know anything specific but it's just a good idea in general. Buy one things extra until you get there, then use the oldest one first. Then live right and pay attention to when something doesn’t feel right.
Our family survived 4 out of 5 mass shootings either as a near-miss and was warned by someone or a hunch or feeling on all of them. Sometimes we don't get that but live right so that if it is your time it isn’t so bad... so that it is okay, even if it isn’t okay.
LOL!!!!
Lebanon was Israel’s longtime enemy since PLO who also did Black September and expelled to Syria an Lebanon.
wait so, is it confirmed nitrite explosives were used? Or was it just a supercharged capacitor?

Good stuff NY TIMES!
I'm getting so much enjoyment from this story. 🥰🥰🤣🤣
Not only is it obvious now who was working for Hezbollah, but from all the commentary on the networks and the UN it's obvious who's rooting for the terrorists. "High civilian casualties"? Give us a break. You're disgusting.
Go Israel!💖💖💖

Oh well , lesson don’t mess with Israel .
At leaat while they still have Uncle Sam's teat to suckle at.
and they exploded at eye height with children, killing a 9 year old girl
Kids were not intended targets, why would not you look at Hazbollah for blame? Why they hide between civilians?
@@RimmaBernshteyn What an insane take. Israel is not the good guy, and they prove it daily.

Give them their land back. Free PALESTINE
Why? Remember in 1948 when all the Arab countries as far as Morocco kicked our there Jewish citizens, the Israelis went to fetch them and offered them homes. When the so called Palestinians left Israel, thinking they would be back soon when the Israelis had been pushed into the sea, the Arab countries refused them the right to assimilate and built fences around their camps to keep them in. Israel didn't start the camps.
No mention that an Israeli team visited Taiwan in April 2024?
