Great video. to the point! Quick question- does the park/neutral wire prevent starter engagement? I am using the factory harness, but have cut all the wires and made my own relay/fuse block. I am able to engage the starter directly though its own relay. The engine will crank, but no sign of spark or life. Have checked coil packs at the plug. I assume the park switch wire is irrelevant if the starter is manually engaged, since it will not cause the engine to not run when it loses power when the vehicle shifts out of park. We have not deleted VATS, so that could be it too I guess. Thanks for any help!
yes it only prevents starter engagement nothing else make sure all your pink wires power and your computer is grounded with factory ground that are in the harness, even with vats it should fire up for a few seconds
@@ozcorr909 Dang. I guess I'll check voltage at the injectors and plug wires. What else needs power besides all pinks, fuel pump, and grounded computer with the small black wire?
I have a 2001 suburban and it only has 3 plugs for the bcm I took them off security light stays lit but engine stays running turned it off and turned it back on works fine but security light on still does it matter as long. As the engine turns on??
yes its fine as long as it turns on ,it will continue to work as long as you dont clear the code for the bcm ,ive been driving the car i put this engine in for over a year
since you already pulled it out of the donor vehicle you'll have to send your ecu out to get them deleted got to lt1swap,com i had them do one for me for 75$ about a year ago, theyll delete the vats, delete smog ,remove governer cuttoff and program to your rear diff gear ratio and tire size for transmission , best deal i found so far
Stock gas pedal? Do I cut the black hose thing into and f orget about it? It goes up behind the gauges some where? I stopped when I couldn't find the other end of it.
yes its the stock gas pedal i don't remember any hose coming off the gas pedal just the plug going to through the firewall to the pedal control module i didn't have to do anything to that part of the harness
Ive never fire up an l98 tune port on a stand i did have one in my 56 f100 that had a stand alone harness from painless wiring and the computer had already been flashed with that being said ignition wiring pretty much the same those injectors were 45 psi
if you are using the neutral safety switch make sure its in park or it will not start ,i put this motor in my car about a year ago and is still working without having ecm programmed .if you clear the codes (check engine light) you will have to get the ecm programmed to remove the vats and whatever else you need removed,i used LT1swap.com to program another one for me .
c1-a9 pink wire power from ignition powers up fues block, c1a3 yellow wire provived power to starter relay it will not work if neutral safety switch is not in gear, you can bypass the neutral safety switch by running your ignition starter wire straight to the starter,
@@ozcorr909…. hey what’s up, bro? I have a 2003 Chevy Tahoe that fires rite up and runs great when parked and on take off but gets about a block away and dies for no reason but will fire rite back up….Is that the VATS??…. if so, I need to try this trick unplugging it.😎
Damn wish I found this video 3 months ago😂
Very informative 💪😎

Nice video bro I did a LS swap and my engine crank but doesn’t start how do I delete vats

Hey man I hope you see this I’m not sure as do I plug them back in just leave em hanging?
are you talking about the yellow and pink wire i used to start it?
Thanks I'm fixing to take 5.3 out of Tahoe it going in 2002 GMC extended cab
I shouldn't have to change anything should I??
not if you dont mind the stock fuse box there will be a lot of it will be unused
Could I do the same to my 86 c4 vett

Did u ever bought teh camaro ignition switch pigtail?? Iam dixing one, and cant find it
no gerardo I havent had to replace one yet
When I put power to pin A 9, I get nothing. No relay clicks
this is for 03-07 id check that you have a good ground from battery to block ,good constant 12v to fuse box ,and that neutral safety is in park .
@ozcorr909 it ended up being my fuse panel itself. Swapped it for a different one it worker perfectly. I have everything from a 2000 tahoe
right on im glad it worked out
I cant get my swap started, no fuel pump prime or starter , could it be because i dont have my transmission and the sensors hooked up ?
mine runs then dies vats is deleted I double checked 3 times any ideas?
supposedly thats what they do when the vats are not deleted, are you running a fuel pump if so check that it is coming back on after initial priming .
It’s didn’t work for me everything quit working on my truck once it was let to sit for a little
