Cliff McConville of All Grass Farms, shares with us their process of switching over from the old traditional nest boxes to the Best Nest Boxes. Cliff made the coops borrowing Joel Salatin’s scissor-truss design and tested out one of the coops with Best Nest Box to see how the chickens would do. After success with the first coop, Cliff switched everything over to Best Nest Box and has been pleased with the results. The eggs are extremely easy to collect, they remain unbroken, not pecked by the chickens, and they are very clean with no need to wash.

those look like really nice boxes. I'm interested to see how they fair with a buildup of manure, a little rust, and some dents, bends, etc. All the things that happen over a few years of being used every day. I've seen many others that looked so well designed and just didn't work. The egg rolling forward concept is a tough one as mobile coops are seldom on perfectly level ground. I'd buy a few a of these and give them a try mixed in amongst the other brands and designs I have, along with the tried and true things like a plastic buckets, milk crates, scrap board boxes, etc. If anyone has used these for a few years I'd really appreciate hearing from you.

I love that Best Nest Box. Good video. I only have 2 chickens as pets right now but if I had a larger amount of chickens I could see myself getting one of these.

It's very good you let's them live naturally. Being caged due to factory farming is the cruelest form of life for these precious birds.

I do not eat finnish chickens but chickens which has raised in this farm with natural would be food even for me and eggs too. Normally I hunt "chickens from the wilderness." Looks good living for chickens. Regards from Finnish Lapland.

I have very similar nest boxes as you, however im wondering if you have a brooding problem, because my hens like to stay in the boxes and not come out.
