Check out these mods I've made to my Sundolphin Excursion 12 SS (same basic kayak as the Aruba 12).

The added, on-board USB connection is interesting. I noticed you are using alligator clips for the battery terminals. "Spade" insulated connectors that slide on, would be best though. The alligator clips tend to move around a lot, possibly shorting out the battery and posing a fire hazard. 🔥
USB port is great addition.

I recently made an impulse purchase of the sun dolphin fiji 8 ft kayak because of a sale ending and the fact that it could fit inside my Subaru hatchback. I needed to go with the smallest I could find because of health issues that prevent me from lifting too much weight. Anyway the seat is TERRIBLY uncomfortable and it aggravates nerve issues I have. How many cans do you think you used to lift the seat higher and give it cushion? I’m wondering if this is cost effective? Thanks!
First off, use Loc-Tite dense foam. It's way better than the cheap stuff, I'd say 1 can should be enough.

Does the spray foam absorb water?
It probably would if it was sitting in water for long enough. But it doesn't readily soak it up like a sponge by any means.
