  • If you’re looking for Biblical teachings on how to overcome religious OCD (aka scrupulosity), you’re in the right place. I’m a follower of Jesus Christ and I’ve struggled with religious OCD myself. I have three degrees in theological specializations, so I approach this topic purely from a spiritual perspective, but I recognize that religious OCD has a considerable amount of overlap between spirituality and psychology. While I support and strongly recommend medical/psychological interventions, it is outside the scope of my expertise to offer psychological counseling of any kind. The information provided on my channel is not intended to be used as a substitute for professional diagnosis and treatment, but rather for educational and informational purposes only.

Love this. Been out of work for four years caring for my disabled sister. She passed in March, and now I am alone. I finished college in August and am seeking work. I do have some hindrances, like no car, no access to transportation, minor health issues. I am behind in my (lot)rent and need things. The job market is tough, and I feel guilty for not having an income. I want to cast my care and trust God's provision, but I feel like it is my place to have a job. As I said, the search is tough given the circumstances. Don't know what to do.

My absolute biggest fear is losing salvation, being unable to get it back and being condemned to Hell. Simple as that.

Have you ever considered that the true Gospel is complete trust in Jesus that he is your Saviour. If you believe you can lose salvation then you are putting your trust in yourself. Because it depends on your works. The true Gospel is good news. That we cannot save ourselves so we believe on Him to save us. And our belief he will is our total eternal security. We must rest in him all of us who are burdened and heavy laden. Peace.

There’s so many verses that give you assurance on why a true regenerated Christian can’t “lose” his salvation. If you lose “eternal life”, then it wasn’t “eternal”. Look for “doctrines of grace”, it will help you A LOT if this is your biggest fear.

      and
He has prepared a way to bring relief. (MH 481.1)
      He is faithful.
You write, that this thought comes every morning. Isaiah had the experience of being awakened throug God morning by morning to be taught by Him:
"He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens my ear to hear as one being taught." (Isaiah 50:4)
"You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
      Because he trusts in You.
      Trust in the Lord forever,
For in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength."
      (Isaiah 26:3-4)
"Wasn’t he actually speaking to us? Yes, it was written for us …" 1 Corinthians 9:10
May you have "perfect peace, and at such a time." (Ezra 7:12)

I have started to state/claim this Bible verse in my daily prayer to God where I ask Him to solve everything for me. I say "everything" because I have so many things that I cannot solve, answer, or even explain and the list keeps growing daily (we do get attacked daily after all and I have to NOT try to solve these attacks). Several things are worries that I need God to explain to me like what happened in my mind, what was my thought process, etc.
The other part about leaving it with God is somewhat made easier for me because I realize that the things I need Him to explain require an actual audible discussion with Him. And that won't happen until the afterlife so this kind of forces me to definitely leave it with Him. It still gives me anxiety but I can at least "worry about it later" when I see Him.

  • @petesantillo8711

That was amazing,,I noticed that I was praying so much and asking for forgiveness,, repetitive ruminating on my sins, knowing that I repented but wasn't able to move on,but now I know that when you repent and ask for forgiveness, you must now live a life without sin and move forward and if you do sin,,just get on your knees and repent but don't continualsly keep making the same mistakes. Faith is a process of working on it. It's ok that faith and belief is a roller coaster ride. God knows how hard life is but as long as we don't commit blasphemy..your video was extremely helpful,,thank you and may we continue to work hard and grow in faith with our heavenly father 🙏,,God bless

    • @jaimieeckert
      @jaimieeckert  Рік тому +1

God bless you, Pete! You're right, faith is a process we grow in faith and learn more...like a mustard seed that stars small and develops over time. Don't expect instant perfection. Just keep your eyes on Jesus and He'll make happen what's supposed to happen.

@@jaimieeckert we become what we think about,so if we think about God and our Lord Jesus Christ always that's what will be, disciples and children of God,,even if our minds tell us differently because God looks at the heart not at the mind. It's ok to have scruopolosity OCD,,GOD knows it's not the intention of the heart but of our brains. But as long as we stand firm and continue to pray and stay away from sin and live by faith and not by sight,,our reward will be like no other,, blessings on your videos,, you're planting the seed in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 00:00 Let go and let God.
00:32 What does letting go mean?
    01:14 1. Peter 1:6-7
01:39 How to cast your anxieties, your cares upon Him
01:58 Humbleing myself, recognizing I'm unable to get where I need to go by myself and I need God who is more potent than I or my challenges.
02:42 God grows honor on the soil of humility
03:12 Humbeling doesn't mean negative humiliation, but recognizing, we need help
03:20 True humility is the starting point of growing spiritually
    03:39 What does casting mean?
    04:07 Leaving it with God
04:37 Practically refusing to take back what I cast upon God
05:31 Technique: After committing a problem to God, get up and intentionally do the next thing
    06:10 Isn't it my responsibility?
    07:09 Recognize my part
08:02 Going to extremes concerning responsibility
08:34 Crossing the line from doing my part to taking God's responsibility
09:04 Because! God cares for you
09:38 Imagine hypothatically for a moment, you slip
10:13 Healthful reasoning with tempting thoughts
10:27 Jonah: A heart touching example of how God helps us to overcome our corrupted will and bring us, where we truely want to get
10:51 Remembering Jonah: wouldn't He also help me, when I take the wrong turn?
11:15 We need to trust the Our Father, because He cares for us
11:35 When anxiety knocks your door
