- We were going to go camping and trail riding in the Lake district but the weather forecast was horrific so at the last moment booked ourselves into a campsite in the North Yorkshire moors where the forecast was for nice weather which turned out to be stunning.
We got to the site and pitched up early then went over to the Dalby forest area which is an area we haven't got to yet but what a place!
The lanes possibly aren't in the order we rode them mind...
The campsite we stayed at was Lawnsgate Farm, Lealholm.
I asked a local TRF member for a route and he gladly supplied one for us to follow, I won't name him as I nearly got kicked out of the TRF for mentioning GPX files and the CEO wants to see me.
He knows who he is though and I apreciate it.
Oh, if you plan to cook don't forget to take fuel for the stove, I forgot the gas! luckily a lovely couple lent us their stove so thanks to them too.
It looks like you both had good fun. What an amazing place to ride
We always have fun Paul, and thank you :)
Looks like you had a great time. I love the idea of meat vending machine will have to hunt that out next time I’m up there 😂
The meat was awesome too. Have you got your bike sorted yet?
I guess that first green lane wasn’t as slippy that time 😂😂😂
Or the riders are a bit better? ;)
I think my off road capabilities would be that bit of greenery where your tent is 🤣
Mine were that last year most of these lanes could be done in a road bike with road tyres though to be fair. Some of them though, not so much...
I own a Honda CMX500 Rebel, I am currently convincing my wife that I need a second bike for this sort of stuff, thinking of getting the Honda CRF300L Rally....I shall use this video as my reason why. 😂😂
Sounds good to me. I want a 300 rally next so good choice :)
@@mykheaton I'm collecting it next week so I'll let you know what it's like
@@jamesnoonan7450 where will you be riding it?
@mykheaton Well, I use my Rebel for commuting, touring (in hotels), and Sunday rides. I've wanted to get into some more off-road trips similar to what you are doing in the video. Also, fancy some off-road courses near me, so it will probably be used for that. And a second bike for commuting if I don't fancy the rebel or it's in for MOT etc.
@@jamesnoonan7450 Sounds perfect. I mainly ride mine in the North Yorkshire moors and Dales. :)
Cracking video Michael, cannot beat North Yorkshire 😉😎 glad to see you took your personal chef 👨🏼🍳 too😂
He's certainly a top chef. Ruined my pan though and fed me food he'd put on the floor...
Looks great where is this?
Dalby forest mainly mate.
@@mykheaton cool i live in richmond, all this on my doorstep, might have to rethink what i want for a 2nd bike next year 👍
@@sensiblestoner5766 Depends on your first bike but i'm in love with my little 250, Might get a 300 rally next mind.
@@mykheaton i jumped straight on a fazer 1000 i love it to bits but round here its like trying to drive a f1 car on the street lol i really want to get out and explore green lanes etc.. but no idea where to start.
@sensiblestoner5766 Well there's plenty where you are bud. Get a little off roader. I have a crf 250l
Maybe join GLASS to get their map of legal lanes, or join the TRF or Northern Adventure bike riders on Facebook if you want to ride with people :)
On the moors
Yup, on the moors...
