We have such a proud tradition. It's so sad to see the level the Buffs have fallen to under Hawkins. I want CU to return to what they've been for the majority of the past 25 years: a talented, confident team who would play anyone, anywhere. The Buffs wouldn't always win those big games, but you knew CU was going to show up, play their asses off, and hit you in the mouth. Let's get back to that, CU Go Buffs!!
@The1Skinsfan well i thought it would be utah vs colorado because they used to be rivals when they played every year and the fact they're only a few hours drive from eachother rivals are usually close. in college anyway. but your theory is interesting why do you think that? i think utah and oregon st is more likely then oregon just based on some heated games they've played the last few years and i could see colorado ucla being one possibly
@healthyandyoung Yah that makes sense I'd be surprised if they do well this year though. I'd also be surprised if they don't have the Utah Byu game every year
@The1Skinsfan well i live in utah i'm a utes fan and the utah/byu rivalry is seriously the biggest thing that happens here every year but if i was utah i wouldnt want to do it cause they already have a way tougher schedule then they are used to. i'd like to see them keep it though its a fun rivalry. i'm hoping they get a lot more rivalry's right now they only have byu and rivalry games are really awesome lol
@The1Skinsfan yeah i think utah/byu still might be a rival but i dont think they'll play every year anymore which will make the rivalry not as strong. if utah's recruiting improves from joining the conference i could see utah/usc being a big rivalry. same colors, same style, utah recruits mostly out of LA and its only 8 hours from salt lake. only time will tell any two teams could make up a new rivalry
@healthyandyoung Yah you could be right. I still thinkg Utah's main rival will be Byu. It will just be an end of the year out of conference game. It would make the most since for Colorado and Utah to be rivals, since it's the equivilant of an in state rivlary. Arizona Arizona st, Oregon Oregon st, Colorado Utah.
@The1Skinsfan every team pretty much has a rival and the more competitive you become the more rivals you get generally. so even if they lose the byu rivalry they'll still get more probably colorado at least at first
As a ninteys kid I just always assumed Colorado was always good like Oklahoma Alabama or Notre dame . When I grew up and moved to Colorado I was shocked to find out they sucked mostly and nobody in the state cares about the team.
@adgw1423 Pretty sure they fell during Barnett's tenure. We almost lost to UNLV in a bowl, returned to scandals and got completely demolished by Texas in the Big XII championship. Dan Hawkins has been trying to revamp the team and has had tons of bad luck. Two years ago he had a team that could contend for a Big XII championship, but we had far too many injuries and last year it was a young team. Everyone knows that.. I really believe Colorado will win the North this season.
Although, I'm not going to defend the decision to start his son in 2009, or to put Hansen in halfway when he was supposed to be redshirting. It was a terrible move, and one I still don't understand. I suppose it was for this next season to get some experience, but he should have started from Day 1.
@The1Skinsfan well utah isnt quite at the level that usc's program is. the sanctions should hurt usc but not completely i think they will just go back to how they were before pete carrol got there which is good but not unstoppable and thats also about how utah is most years

Go Dion Figures
@thirdandlong303 probably when they fire the guy they have now. Hawkins? They should try and hire Gary Patterson or Chris Peterson
@healthyandyoung Yah that could big a big rivalry as long as the sanctions don't completely kill Usc's program
GO BUFFS!!! best team ever
@healthyandyoung Yah I geuss it's o.k as long as Utah makes new big rivalries
As a ninteys kid I just always assumed Colorado was always good like Oklahoma Alabama or Notre dame . When I grew up and moved to Colorado I was shocked to find out they sucked mostly and nobody in the state cares about the team.

will colorado vs utah be the new rivalry? maybe. honestly i think utah will be much more dominant then colorado but we will see
Utah vs. Colorado rivalry existed long, long before Colorado joined the Big 6 Conference and Utah founding the Western Athletic Conference.
