PANHEAD CHOPPER WATCH ME STRUGGLE TRYING TO START IT

- Hey Everyone!
In this video I ride my Panhead Chopper around, then bring it back to install the Pangea Speed Condenser in my magneto. I run into many problems, and struggle trying to start it. if you counted the kicks, put it in the comments below. The struggle has nothing to do with the condenser, but the coil frying out.
Ride safe everyone!
Enjoy!

You get to be my age 71 you won't be able to walk. All electric start for me, I did have total confidence in you, have a blessed week my friend
Every thing you said at the end of this video, I stress so much on my channel all the time!!! I totally agree with everything you said word for word. 👍🍺 SLICK
Well said, Yama. So stoked to see the Panhead running so strongly. It's still my favorite bike in the 947 Works lineup. P.S. The Imperial primary came off the fabled "Reservoir Shovel"!
Freaking awesome dude!!! I’ve been in your shoes sooo many times, and it feels so good staying persistent and finally cracking the code!!! Good job man!!! 👍🍺 SLICK
Love how little mazi walks carefree around the shop. Like, what panhead trouble?
You got it right. Keep plugging away. I've been working on harleys since i bought my first panhead at 18 years old. That was 1979. I've owned 3 panheads, 6 shovelheads, and a couple evos. Never give up. PANHEADS FOREVER.
Thanx for the heads up on the Pangea condenser!! Just picked one up for my point’s system on my 49 pan. Stoked!! 🏍🤙🍻
Loved the scream of joy when it even started well when hot 😅 I could literally feel the same emotion all the way over here in Germany 🤘🏼
Top! Very well solved, enjoy the Bike more from now.
It's great when you've been struggling a bit and you finally crack it. Love watching the videos
love the commitment to get it running. super stoked on the videos. Keep it up
What a beautiful pan. I’m drooling
yes sir . mr. yes sir......so good stuff. very happy to watch all parts of this.
Beautiful bike
Bike is so good!
Hey Yama. As you were kicking for all you are worth, I kept thinking, "defective mag coil." I ran a Morris magneto on my '47 Knucklehead and had a few problems dialing it in. Once I got that mag sorted, my Knuck started on the third kick (usually). Morris developed a magneto for cone Shovels which required a lot less kicking to generate a good "zotz" at the spark plugs. I ran a 32E (6 volt) charging system on my Knuck. My 32E generator was rebuilt using orginal H-D components and assembled and tested by a guy who built Indian and H-D racing bikes in the old motordrome days. That same guy worked in a few H-D service departments - working on cop and civvie bikes. Paul G. (RIP). I installed a solid-state replacement for the standard cut-out relay for the 6-volt generator. That charging system was as reliable as a stone. All the best, Yama. Ride safe. -- W
Since My Electric Start works good, wife say no kick start Honeyko. Thanks for this video!
Nice.
Ficou linda, um dia faço a minha 😊
⛓️ tough ⛓️
you made an at least 60 year-old very simple bike run. Wow. People were riding this bike 60 or more years ago every day, yet you made a whole issue of making it run.
and then you keep adjusting the carb hoping to get rid of that flat spot when it's timing or an intake leak
This gonna be a bit of an odd question but has anyone ever tried of mounting a triumph preunit gearbox using a heim joint as the upper mount? Essentially using a bracket that mounts to the gearbox that uses a heim joint to connect to a weld on mount that is on the frame.
Nice wrenching hoss
I have the same problem on my 73 ironhead, yesterday he wanted to start, today is absolutely don’t for some reason, you can drive it for 100km and when you stopped in a gas station - he dies
Hell ya dude, gotta feel good getting it figured out. I've been building my first panhead for the last year or so ,running it with a magneto as well and can't wait to kick for a fuckin hour trying to get it dialed haha
PANHEADS FOREVER
I run the same plugs. Same gap. Mags like tight gap due to weak spark at kick speed. Instead of taking off pushrod to determine compression stroke, just put thumb over spark plug hole and you’ll feel compression. Where did you find plugs? Very rare here I’m Canada ( all nom-resister plugs are). I’ll have to grab more when I’m US.
Also, none resisting wires. Solid core copper or some other variant of stainless / copper. ( some are stranded)
Dude im in SJ, I want to learn how to work on bikes so bad but don't have my own place, can I get an internship? haha
👍🏽🤙🏾✌🏾👏🏾
