I do actually prefer the two black ladies they had singing the chorus with Sophie back in 2002 in that radio studio session. They did complement each other so well. I don't say this is bad, not at all. Just a preference.
I was in uni this time, was in a toxic relationship. Even my music choices were influenced (dictated?) by a boyfriend. But then one day I stumbled upon Zero 7 and realised that this is the kind of stuff I want to listen to. Like listening to their music gave me back my identity, a piece of myself. I got out of the toxic relationship a little later. Zero 7 stayed on my playlist. A reminder that I can choose to be healthy and that I deserve to enjoy something that's completely my own.
So glad to read that sweetie. I sure hope the people in your life now treat you with all the kindness and repect that you deserve. So much love to you for being so strong. Sounds like you drew strenth from this song like the lyrics tell you, Sia is incredible.
@@helloklaris what an awesome story for you behind the song. Music either makes you remember or makes you forget. Either way is fine. I hope you are happy and well 🥰☮️✌️
One of my biggest regrets in life was not seeing Zero 7 live when they were here in Detroit early 2000’s. I just started getting into them and I believe it was the tour for ‘When It Falls.’ Ugh. I miss those days and their music was the soundtrack to my life in those days and still is. Call me a weirdo but I’m tearing up typing this. I love you guys.
Luck if you have this as part of your history. 2001 - a clear memory of watching Destiny with one of my best friends. He's gone now. The world keeps turning.
This is the 1st time i went to Glastonburry in early day i took college. Its long rainy day since morning before this gigs held and Sia so right about us, i remembered she talks about the mud and maybe some of us lost shoes. And i lost my left shoe in this gig!
I was there! It was a magnificent performance (and everyone at this gig had chosen it over Paul McCartney on the main stage that night), and I still remember the spontaneous cheering @2:30. I also have an inkling where this recording came from. The BBC was experimenting with showing extra Glastonbury performances on "Red Button" via digital TV., sent out over a side band of the main broadcast. This recording is taken from an over the air recording of that, and was originally in MPEG2 format (hence why it's not great visual quality). I don't know who originally recorded it, but thank you whoever you are. (The recording got passed around the Zero7 and Sia web forums at the time, we had so many rare recordings that were shared from all over the world via gmail accounts)
Dude the way they harmonize in the chorus in this version is unlike any other. That’s why this is my favorite rendition. The way Sia sings the “down” part of the chorus is such a freaking deep melody for a single-sung word. It’s overwhelmingly soulful…prob the best Destiny keys solo of any YT version I’ve ever come across as well
Damm, her voice is amazing..alot of time, i listen to a singer live performance and realized its studio magic of the radio and music videos... but this 100 percent great
My girlfriend referred 07 to me at the end of 2019 and I'm so glad she did I have enjoyed listening to this wonderful group during the pandemic. Wish I would have known about this group a while back but now I'm enjoying. Beautiful singing and beautiful sounds!!!!!!!!!!!
Destiny (featuring Sia) Glastonbury 2004 live version by Zero 7 has both hypnotic vocals and music that is pleasing to music listening ears. The harmony of vocals and music in Destiny create a majestic music track and video to listen and watch.
You should have seen it in the early 1980's. Nobody really hated anybody else. We listened to the Amerian top 40 countdown, and there would be several new songs on the countdown every week.
@@kevinkelley3657 maybe so... or maybe you just weren't aware of it because we didn't have access to fast communication like social media, or the internet. Sia was struggling with alcoholism at this point in her life. Listen to Louis Theroux’s grounded podcast episode with her. She’d been through some rough stuff that sent her over the edge (she was flying to England to meet up with her first boyfriend again, and he got hit by a car and killed in a hit and run incident whilst she was flying over).
One of the best songs of the 2000s... Deserves much more attention.
Sia’s voice is UNREAL.
This tune used to put me to sleep in the late morning hours after big nights out. Fucking magic.
Sia Furler, Tina Dico e Sophie Barker, what a trio!
Sia, Sophie and Tina. Doesn't get much better than that.

The entire band is in flow and loving it. So cool
Absolutely…Don't forget Tina Dico…'Home' on the first Zero 7 album & incredible music released ever since.
Amen wow
I freaked when I realized that Tina and Sophie were on stage! They need to rename the video and acknowledge all three.
Still listening in December 2023…it’s been that good!
