the space being separated by a couple blocks made everything seem alot more hectic. I felt like we were really restricted by our schedule and didn't have alot of time for socialization and taking pictures with cosplayers, so that was the biggest thing for me. as a long time sakura con goer alot of my past knowledge went out the window when we arrived and found out they were using a whole new building, also the new app wouldn't run on my old phone which sucks that they stopped printing the paper schedules.
Not sure if you know but some artists don't mind the free promo of filming them and their booths. I vlogged a con once and asked the artists to film them. That video actually did really well and hopefully it helped their businesses get more attention. Most had Etsy shops and qr codes. But I figured I'd let you know if you were comfortable with doing stuff like that. But I'm sorry the con wasn't as enjoyable and hope you're feeling better!
That's good to know! I kinda thought about that but also I'm Very Shy sometimes and feel awkward asking but hopefully I can push past that and ask people next time. 😅

Its different for every seller i think. i tried to take a picture of a vendor's perler art at a fan expo and he very adamantly said "No pictures please!!" I hadn't seen the sign that he had so that was my bad but yeah.

Ey, I also went to Sakura Con! It was my first time going so it's very interesting hearing your thoughts about this year in comparison to previous years. I definitely agree that travel between the buildings felt really wide. It especially got painful for me by the end of the 2nd day because I noticed a little to late that my entire con lineup had heels... generally con friendly heels, but heels nonetheless. It was not particularly fun heading to another building a few minutes away on top of being entirely on an incline. Luckily most of what I wanted to do was in the Summit building so I was able to hang out in a single building for the most part. It does also mean I didn't look through the artist alley as much as I wanted though. Also great hall!
ahhh this is so fun, im con crunching as i watch this 😭 making a last minute moondrop mask, im waiting for glue to dry con starts friday but im missing the first day sadly due to music club stuff that evening :( im excited! i get to see my friend who i havent seen in awhile, we’re cosplaying lumine + aether from genshin impact and then im going as moon sunday lol wish me luck on con crunch :’)
yeah I wasnt a fan of walking back and forth, my poor legs were hurting so badd,,, the building was great, but ehh?? I didnt have much fun too but its always nice to cosplay and meet up with friends! thanks for the videoo

The building thing does sound inconvenient. There’s not like a bridge/tunnel to connect? That’s what I I’ve seen with other conventions with 2 buildings.

I'm sorry your con was less than ideal, and I agree with you, the walk between Arch and Summit was kind of a lot, but I can't blame them for doing what they had to do. I'm hoping next year they can at least put some kind of cover over the sidewalks between the buildings so people will be slightly less wet, but I'm not sure they can do much else! I wish the people who built Summit had been able to do it closer to Arch but I'm sure they had their reasons. I also bought stuff from Maizilla! I was so sad that the Sakuracon commercial sticker sheet was sold out but I got Ragnarok Online sheet and a silly Sonic keychain. I'm hoping I can find an Etsy shop or something, such great merch!

Yeah I personally prefer the arch building compared to the summit. The summit feels more compact and not much moving room compared to the arch.
