I love paint that comes off that easy !!! And the finish is lovely . What grease did you use , it looked loveky thick stuff ! Fantastic finish color !!
Thank you Jim, yep that old paint came off easy. The grease is STP brand multi purpose I broke the original container so now it's in a leftover chinese food container. 😂😂
Thats a good looking Vice George. Nicely done. I Was glad to see you use Bondo, I have a project with really deep pits in it. I was using some JB Weld Epoxy Putty and it is really hard to work with. So I will try the Bondo. Good Job.
Thanks Dale, Yea I"ve used the JB weld putty and the steel sticks. I'm not a big fan of bondo but it works great for getting a smooth surface to paint.
Wow nice job poppy Yost man 👍 love the red and the lettering. If I ever buy one of those vices I'll follow along to make sure I do it the same as you. Well done
Beautiful finish on the vice mate. The original casting was pretty bad so bog and paint was a good choice. Love the original red colour. Have a good day buddy and don’t get too cold.
Thanks Brother, You know I wanted to keep the metal look but I'm pretty happy with the red. I hope you're doing well down there. Cold doesn't really bother me just a bit of a pain to work with cold materials. Enjoy your summer🍻
That white lettering sets it off and it looks outstanding! I'm a big fan of the fill primer on vises.. I like a smooth finish on them... Mr. George that's a interesting stand in the back ground there...looks like a cast iron stand.. that vise would look good on that if its stout enough! Good stuff Brother!!
Thanks Mr. Vic. You know I like my vises bare metal but i do like the red and white. That stand is stout enough it's cast iron. i 'm going to put a vise on it. Just waiting to find the plate steel for it.
Before you know it people might start calling you the Yost Man 🤪- Bro you just wacked that out of the ball park - awesome 👌- that turned out really good.. I really enjoyed that, please do a crackle Yost next 😁
Thank You! The best places I can recommend is your local flea market or swap meet or you can check the Facebook Page Bench Vises forever. Some people have bits and pieces for sale. Good luck let me know how it works out for you.

Good looking vice!
This came out great! Love the red paint. Nice job George. You have inspired me to finish one that is in parts on my bench for a few months.
Excellent Brother. Make sure you post it!! thanks for watching.

@@Uwannawatch Be lucky to find one of those around here. It's slim pickings and everyone one is asking a fortune for what do have.

Yost man😂 Thanks Brother, Hmm a crackle Yost would be something you never know...🍻
HI! At minute 3:48 a crack is visible on the moving part of the vice. Didn't you fix it?
It's not cracked. It's a machining mark. Like a step it's on both sides..but one side is more pronounced. Thanks for watching.
@@Uwannawatch Now that I look at it better, even in the subsequent frames, I'd say you're right.
Thanks for the reply.
Great work! I have the same vintage Yost 4 1/2 bench vise with stripped acme screw. Is there any place to find acme screw and nut for these vises?

“Let’s start breaking this little girl down” - really, George?
"Let's take apart this big ass vise"
