I think you meant to say without using additive equalizing. I try to use both additive and subtractive. I usually use subtractive to get rid of any frequency that's going to cause the compression to work too hard, and then after I compress twice I'll add an Eq with color to add back some low end I took away and I might clean up any other frequencies.
I'm new to the channel. Like today new but this is going to help me a lot. I just ordered my first bit of recording equipment last night. I don't really have the money to go to someone for recording, mixing and mastering plus I want to take the independent route so my music is controlled by me and only me. I know I have a lot of work ahead of me but it's nice to have information like this at my finger tips from someone who has been doing this type of work for a while. I've been writing and getting music ready for a little while just didn't have the money to get recorded or buy equipment. I'm excited to start this journey and can't wait until I'm able to make it what I do for the rest of my life. Thanks for providing the info and making it understandable to beginners.
Hi Wayve, thank you so much for all the videos you've been making and sharing. I'm wondering if you're planning to do any video to share tips on processing voiceover recordings? Thanks!
I've only watched the start but I'm saying that i've used eq's, then when I ditch them the whole thing sounds way better...now back to the video. Damn, I get it now!! MINIMALISM, I'm gonna try mixing without anything at all.
I love how you showcase and show love to your wife bro. A lot of artist and engineers wouldn't dare do this. That stood out most to me. She can blow too lol. I appreciate these videos bro. Learned more from you than ANYONE. I watch them daily!!!! Keep them coming!!!!
Good morning bro I hope you're well! I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on mixing vocals to a reference track, or perhaps using reference studio acapellas to EQ your vocals :)
This video shows me you know your shit cuz I’m a artist I love music just bought my own home studio to record myself but I have work with others and have music out so I can hear what you doing like it’s my tracc and you right 💯💯💯💯Nice
Sorry for being difficult but I consider any EQ to be a bunch of filters and Multiband-Compressor is an EQ with bunch of compressors it it! However I loved the video! Compression IS the way to make the voice sound great
Man the low end of this mic does me no justice. Every mic I ever had didn’t help me. All the booom in the low mid is depressing bro 😂 if it’s not thin it’s not going to happen.
@@1950flandert it's really good, you can get a protools theme and get it to look like protools and it's a CPU saver... crazy, you can run so many plugins on your production! Give it a try
to much processing, try this... omni pattern mic setting...cut with eq...use vocal rider or automation(or at least use compressor)...parallel compress to taste...insert lil distortion optional. comeback and thank me😉.
hmm... bro, you don't need the click bait, for real man. just name it for what it is... Imma still gonna watch... anyways, this "new" method ain't new, you already showed this before.... buuuuut anyways like other people already said, "you've given me so much value, I'll let it pass!" hehe all the best mate
this method for no eq only works for clean recordings that dont need subtractive eq of resonances. and not everybody can afford it or have the access to clean rooms. and the compression you show with automatic settings dosent help because we want to see how the attack and release worked on the vox.
First thing you turned to was the EQ, and Finessed it. . Nice Clickbait, but you've Given me so much Value I'll let it Pass LoL
Funniest shit ever when u put that eq first 🤣
😂🤣

Hey man I wanted to ask to you use the cb 1 headphones to mix?
I don't use them to mix. I have used them for monitoring while recording. If I must mix in headphones, i go for the Senheiser HD20 Pro.
@@waynewav okay thank you so much for the reply. I really do appreciate it.

If I recorded vocals on my phone daw with it's internal mic could you mix them to sound professional? Using your tech? 🤔. Just curious, or am I?
I can. i've mixed many vocals from artist who recorded from their phones/laptops.. and yes a professional sound
Man the low end of this mic does me no justice. Every mic I ever had didn’t help me. All the booom in the low mid is depressing bro 😂 if it’s not thin it’s not going to happen.

I thought you said no eq. multi band compression is eq smh... 😐 lol... It sound good though. Your mixes are ckean and professional

So... who is going to be the person to explain to the mixing guru that utilizing a filter is using an EQ?

Filters are still EQ.

1st you need to do is make sure your music and voice over level is the same. Dude, its very basic. I cant hear your voice.
Cool let`s take a Killer vocal and put some f...ing useless Autotune on it ! No disrespect But, Come on Man ! I know I`m old as F...
