I'm confused.

10 favors from the ottoman to are like nuke bomb in this game.
Indeed!
Boy I've got 30 favors from Ottos in a war once
Europe became mine.
I got 2x 40 within 3 years because they dragged me into two wars with those turkish minors... totally worth it
9 months later, the Ottomans still drag me into wars they just seem to be too lazy to do themselves and as a result I get plenty of favors for beating half dead nations...
_Favours aren't weird if you don't have them_
Also, what's the most difficult/rare archievment you have? Mine is baa baa sheep
of eu4
Hehe :'D
Not quite sure. BBB and Komnenoi Empire were pretty tough
Tried the empire one, got rekt lots of times
Yeah, happened a lot to me too :')
A goodway to earn favors is by having vassals preferrably two or more, setting them to siege and you dont have to do anything
The Ottomans don't even care at this point, I guess. "Wait, you didn't help? Whatever, I don't care. I have more units than I'm ever going to use. You can for me, I guess."
Hehe , so true !
I don't even own EU4 and i know many things about it ,because of youtubers.
it sure can be addicting... try it
I wish that happened in my milan campaign..
^^
Why are not Ottomans hostile towards you? In my games i usually see Ottomans wanting all of Egypt region as well as Levant. Do favors affect the relations?
I allied them before I conquered the land they originally wanted. Since I got a lot of favors for joining really easy wars at the start of the game I was able to increase trust so they wouldn't be that mad when i finally took that land.
(You can spend favors to increase trust. High trust lowers the chance of them breaking the alliance)
i seen pretty bizarre things with favors indeed
I allied the Ottomans so nobody wanted to attack me. Then I ate two of those little guys south of tunis and started developing my country for better institution spread. After a couple of years I was strong enough to beat tunis together with tlemcen. shortly afterwards I used the ottomans against the mamlucks.
My one wish is for someone to at some point make an EU4 meme with the ending scene of Rogue One, where Darth Vader destroys the rebels
Your wish shall become reality!
This Happens to me all the time i played Brandenburg and Poland declared war on the T.O. All I did is siege down 1 Provence and I get 30 favors
Hehe :D
Meanwhile me playing as Majapahit, helping Malacca to become regional power on countless wars and gained 100 favors. Then it went defensive war vs Ming cus it allied Bengal. They lost the war and Ming forced break alliance with me. After truce ended, Ming sabotaged my diplomatic relation so I can't re ally Malacca (their favor to me still 90s but they wont ally me and instead wanting some of my provinces) then Ming declare war for my colony in Taiwan.
The smartest Ming AI like ever I encountered.
I'm currently playing as AQ, been allied to ottomans for ages, they 're almost constantly going to war and give me 40 favours every war. I'm at like full trust + full favours with them.
To be fair just by counting yourself in the war you make yourself a target and lend diplomatic support in favour of their peace offer by increasing the strength of the alliance.
It is unbalanced, though.
You have a great future
What do you mean ^^?
i mean you are going to be a great youtubef
Aw thanks ! :)
Wait. You cAN ave a war and ONLY TAKE 420 CAUSUALTIES?! THIS EXISTS?!
Nice Fezzan run btw
Thanks! Hope I'll be able to get the achievement :P
favour.... is that a art of men expansion feauture?
I think the Cossacks DLC added it, not sure though
indeed, favours were added in 1.14 with the cossacks dlc
ah, ok i see... thx :)
ah, ok i see... thx :)
it must be because youre blockading ports?
There used to be a time when i used favors to increase my allies trust of me. Then i stopped giving a crap when i noticed that trust rises on its own when i join their wars (offensive or otherwise)... but when i get declared upon my allies are like "nope!" **dropped like an ugly baby** Whats the point again?
haha :'D Whenever I saw the trust modifier for AI when defending, it was like +50 reasons for defending (probably maxed out trust) But I mostly use it so they won't break the alliance because I have a bunch of AE with them
AI when allied with ya barely gets any AE from your actions (even if not directly involved in said war) and the only reason AI would break an alliance with you in peace time is cos youre allied to one of its rivals (and vice versa). Trust is... eh. Why? The whole idea of favors creates really awkward situations when an opportunity arises to strike down one of the stronger states but the AI is holding out its hand cos you dont have them... and to get favors you either need to fight on AIs side for a while or wait. Neither works when push comes to shove and youre out of options (see the current byzantine start strats - you need to wait to call in hungary and poland rather than striking at the ottos the second they move past the straight). Time is power and it grows as time passes... id bring several examples of that but ill limit myself to just 1: *tech*. In the early game if you dont have tech parity - dont start a war. With that said giving ottos any time will result in them outteching you and your allies cos of their ridiculous ruler... see what i mean?
