I find it really funny when the horse makes a penalty and the rider gives the horse a dramatic pat like. “OH COME ON bUd you can do so much better.” And the horse is just happy to get patted like yeah I know I did awesome.

Don’t you just love that the commentators are blaming all of the faults on the horses? Most of it was rider error 🤷🏻‍♀️

Some people I know that aren’t horsey are telling me “Horse riding is easy! It’s just sitting on a horse and letting them do the rest.” And there is so many things wrong with that one sentence my head could burst. I mean this video shows that, Your not just sitting on a horse. You need good skills to go over these jumps, to know the strides and the timing. Even trotting is hard for beginners, by knowing if your riding on the right leg or not. So that shows that riding is not just sitting on a horse. I have had 7 years of riding and not one part of it I’m letting the horse do by it’s self. Not one little bit. So that proves you wrong. The horses as well. Horses aren’t just animals that go “Neigh” they are creatures that fly, that amaze and that do the most brilliant and wonderful things. I would not live a life like mine right now without them. So people that don’t ride. Pay respects to horses and riders and always think of how much hard word we have done and how sore our legs get after riding. And never think of how we just sit, just SIT on a horse and do nothing. Think before you speak. Or you will make someone upset.

Hannah Logan u r so TRUE! Even though I don’t ride ( I REALLY want too) everyone should give respect to the riders AND the horses. The riders need skill to actually ride and loads of practice to actually ride properly.

i just wanna day these horse are amazing. they are so good in what they do and they worked so hard. i feel they don’t get enough for the hard work they do these horse can jump. they obviously made it to the olympics. and if they get a couple faults they dont get praised. they still did there best. sometime i wait for them to praise them and when the dont it makes me upset. like gosh these horse are amazing give them a break.

I don't know much about horse riding, but 12:37 looked brutal. I know trainers usually say that, if you need to use it, you gotta use more than a light tap, but that was simply whipping. You could hear the sound, it was so loud! Poor horse, made me cringe just watching it.

(This is my opinion no one get offended)
I think Japan was a little harsh on the horse cause after his horse was "stubborn" for a second he pushed his horse to go so much faster which i get cause that waisted time but still. The guy litterly was trying to get him to go so much faster and instead of getting 1 penalty for being out of time he got 8 more for rushing his horse. Again this is my opinion so no one hate on me. And i am no expert on horses, if i made a mistake please correct me, thank you. :)

To all the people who dream that they would someday participate and win equestrian Olympics, dont let others tell you it's a dream "too big" and "it's something you can only dream of" or "it's out of your league, change your dream" or anything like that. I mean what about the other Olympics winners? They didnt give up right? Then why will you? Dreams can be big. They should be big! And I'm telling everyone, to the next generation. Dont EVER let's others thoughts on your dreams make you give up. You WILL accomplish your dream as long as you WORK for it.
    And remember

This was great to watch,BUT THEIR SOOOO HARD HANDED!!!!! Being hard HANDED can hurt the horse and keep it from doing the best it can, THAT'S WHY SOME OF THE HORSE MESSED UP!!! yes I am one one of those people that don't like bits, but even if your using a hackamore it can still hurt it if your hard hand!!!!!!!!! If your horse is foaming at the mouth, swishing its tail , ears are pinned, body language, and eyes can all be a sign that your horse is uncomfortable or in pain, I know when your horse is doing this in a show or competition you can't do much but I'm only stating my opinion as a competing equestrian and my years studying vet care! They all did good though!! Just saying

Do the riders use the same house for all 3 events, or do they have certain horses for each event?

    • @letticia13
      @letticia13 5 років тому +1

There are three Olympic equestrian events: stadium jumping, dressage, and eventing. The event showed in this video is a stadium jumping competition, and the duos only participate in this specific competition.
The duos in the dressage competition also compete only in the dressage event.
Eventing, though, is a combined competition that includes phases of stadium jumping, dressing, and cross country jumping. In the eventing competition, then, yes, the riders use the same mount for all 3 events, as you said.

@@eventerkeira, you are wrong. This was a stadium jumping competition; I can guarantee you. These are jumping riders, not eventing riders. I grew up with riders like Doda and Rodrigo Pessoa, jumping at the same equestrian center than them, and know a lot of these other riders as well. They would never be in an eventing competition; believe me.
Besides that, the jumping phase of Eveting is never this high or technically hard, since it would be very demanding for the horses to jump that level of course, plus the other two phases.

They get four (4) faults for every knock down, refusal, run out, circle, etc.
In each round they get one (1) fault for every four (4) seconds they are over the TA (time allowed).
In jump offs the jumping faults are the same, but instead they get one (1) fault for every second they are over.

I’m a schooling jumper, so it’s a much smaller scale than what you see here, but generally there are patterns that form. Roll backs, lines, and bending lines are all fairly common things so pairing up the patterns and then piecing it together makes it way easier.
