    I bought a 9' 5wt and matched with a Green Galvan T5 reel. I couldn't be happier!

Glad to hear you like it! That sounds like a sweet set up and I love the green finish on the rod as well!

A few years ago I fished for bonefish a few miles South of Andros Island using a 9’ 8w Scott Meridian. Working with an excellent guide my daughter, grandson and I landed 22 bones in two 5-6 hour trips. The rod performed perfectly.

That sounds like a dream trip! The old Meridian was a great rod. Scott definitely knows what they are doing!

I have a Scott Wave and the quality for the price point is unreal. I would love to get my hands on one of these - really appreciate them trying to make American made rods a bit more affordable.

I couldn't agree more! I think there is a huge need for rods of that quality in that price point.

what line did you pair with this rod?
also I would like to know your thoughts on the 10’ 4wt

in the video I was using a 5wt Scientific anglers Infinity taper, and it paired really well. For some of the lighter rods like the 8' 3wt and the 9' 4wt i think a "trout" taper would pair well since the rods are a touch slower.
as for the 10' 4wt, Scott describes it as a "euro nymph and indicator rig hybrid." In my opinion, it is much more of a euro nymphing stick. It is soft compared to the other rods in the line up and the tip has very good responsiveness. however i don't think it has the back bone to cast a heavy rig like i would like it to.

My Centric broke twice! Sold it for a Douglas with a better warranty. Nice fish.

      Where did it break?

Yep, my 9ft 5 weight Centric tip broke when I was threading up the line through the guides! Eventually sold it, as it was one of the only rods I've ever owned that I couldn't find a line to get on with it.

Sure hope they didn’t slim down the cork diameter on the 803 model. Scott needs to stop doing this to us. My hands don’t change size just because I want to fish with a 3-weight. They slimmed down the cork diameter on the G series 843 too. I have to close my hand and fingers so tightly, like gripping a pencil. Please tell Scott to give us the same diameter grip on the 3 weights as they do with the 4 and 5 weights. There is no functional reason for slimming the cork diameter. We want handle grip comfort, not enough manufacturers are paying attention to this key feature, some of us want to cast and fish for long periods especially when they are biting good. Taking away the cork diameter just makes it harder for many of us. It’s a lot easier for small hands to adapt to the right diameter than it is the other way around.
