it's great. can you tell me more the differences between striped , black and white marlin. thanks. sometimes you when you see a fish but it doesn't have head, tail, fin... etc something like that. thanks a lot.
Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking of chopping these up into individual videos for each species. Perhaps, when my schedule becomes more available, I can dig into the research and find more characteristics to look for on those differences.
Great video! I was looking into it because Ive caught several times a bill fish that neither me or my fellow fisherman can’t identify and it is not in this video! Ive caught 3 of them we think it is a type of hybrid between a sailfish and a stripe marlin. All this in the deep sea of Zihuatanejo.
I'll reserve this top pinned comment to add the most relevant updates, corrections and/or important additional information. Cheers!
Nice one man . This will be very useful in the upcoming Australian marlin season
Thanks & good luck this season Emrys!
Great video, finally I feel I can accurately distinguish a black from a blue Marlin and a white from a striped Marlin. Thank you!

Ohh...wow. I wonder if you are dealing with some hybrids. You should post those observations on iNaturalist.org .
I need to know if billfish have scales at one point in their lives?I need to know from each species
@ 23:00 Striped Marlin. OLD photo when men were men (even though there are ladies in the photo) and Stripers were HUGE!
Indeed, that is a beastly striper! Thanks for the post @tanglediver.
