Dear Joanna and Nick, I'm happy about your success. Well done! Your hard work has paid off. Unfortunately, I only came to watch the video now. Depending on the breed of the sheep, the ewe carries 5 - 6 months. Am I right? 🤔 If the lambing is to be again in May or June next year, then the cycle will soon start all over again. Or am I calculating incorrectly? We find your work interesting and look forward to the next video 🤗 Best wishes, Gerold and Ilse!
Great video lambs did very well. Well done. When ur selling sheep in the ring stand at the exit gate and don’t let the auction staff let them out when people are still bidding as there gone when people think I’ll maybe bid again but can’t see them.
Well done, it looks like you have the stocking rate spot on to get all those lambs to the size you did. Plus keeping on top of feet, worms etc has paid off. You don’t need to worry if you are doing things right anymore. You clearly are! 👍🏻
A couple of thoughts Joanna and Nick...first - QUALITY...QUALITY...QUALITY builds the best reputation! And, quality comes down to animal husbandry skills - you, Joanna, and Nick 'care' a great deal for your livestock and those lambs reflect that [and I'm sure in taste as well]. Lastly Joanna...because you care so much about your 'charges' you're bound to have a certain bond that's hard to seperate from. Anyhoo...so happy for the both of you getting GRAND results! Be well - many blessings. Cheers...
Thank you Ross, absolutely lovely comment both nick and I appreciate your encouragement and positive energy!! We do our best and it’s great when you feel it is rewarded, farming as well you can lose perspective and I know I doubt myself , my ability , I feel I’m out of my depth or a bit of an imposter !! So when you can say , well despite all that you did good… you gain a little confidence x
well done you both ...........lovely to come home from the mart happy with what u have got for your stock ........well deserved ..........nice to have the lambs gone at this time as it leaves the grass for the ewes ....... i still have 35 left will have to meal them till christmas to get them saleable ........ hard for lambs to thrive in all this rain ........
A first-rate outcome for your month's of work Joanna and Nick. The lambs you've produced are a credit to you and thats reflected in the very good prices that you received. I'm so pleased for you both. Excellent work.
Thank you Jeff. I hear that the market in Australia is not very good right now ? It’s so demoralising when you have a bad year. So much work goes in regardless of if the prices are good or terrible! Farming is a tough industry!!
@@DaleFarmYes Joanna there has been a huge drop in lamb and beef prices to the producer and no real corresponding fall in price to the consumer, even though the big retailers make out that they have cut prices by huge margins, people are not stupid and can see that they are lying. The reasons given for the fall in prices as usual do not add up either. I've seen this too many times here in Australia and it always happens when a left-wing government is in power. Here in Australia we in the rural sector are often kept in the dark and feed on BS. Sorry for the rant.
A very good result well done you made the right decisions and the lambs look great indeed !! It's definitely a challenge to figure out when to sell, this year we are trying something new and shipping the lambs to the better market but much further away. all the best 😀
The lambs look great. Turning of the seasons especially autumn to winter is a finish up of the hard work of spring and summer. Getting ready to reflect back and digest what has been learnt.
Here in Australia lamb prices have really tanked although one wouldn’t think that given the price in the supermarket. Some producers kept last year’s lamb over hoping for a better price this year but the price dropped even more.
It’s very disappointing when the producers get rock bottom and yet the product itself remains a higher price - supermarkets have to be taking the money
Well done guys on your sale . I always find if someone is with the animals when they are sold always helps . Plus with Jo being a charming young lady might help also
I imagine that an operation like yours, where the lambs are feeding on grass, could focus on store lambs and the farms that are set up for feeding and finishing fat lambs would be more efficient at producing fat lambs.
I am so glad for the both of you that you achieved good prices for your store lambs, I hope people can clearly see the need to buy local and buy British. Your hard work and constant exposure to the elements does deserve a good reward. I would feel like you Joanna seeing them get ready for and bringing them to sale. You and Nick have done a cracking job.
Thank you! Yeah I wish too that people would get behind British produce / local produce . Unfortunately the supermarkets make it too easy , and they also make it confusing/ if not they deceive the customer into thinking they are buying a British / higher welfare product when maybe they are not ! But that’s a whole topic I feel passionately about !!
@@DaleFarm yes Joanna , I think you are correct it seems like some people think that the further a food item has travelled the better it is , they should wake up support local, support better welfare standards and ensure we are not reliant on countries with poor welfare and even poorer human rights record. Some times this is lost in the PC merry go round.
You two have certainly earned the satisfaction of being at the top!! You both are such a gentle team and I think your sheep feel your actions. They thrive. Beautiful job well done. I’m watching from the eastern side of the United States..
I'm so glad you got the highest price!! Congratulations!! The truth is that you work very hard and deserve things like this!! Your father will be proud of you!! Fantastic video, as always!! 👌💪👏👏👏
Terrific Conclusion! Congratulations!! You both have done a fantastic job with the sheep. I have to say your Dad must be so proud of you both and smiling from above.
Thank you Donna! That means a lot, I would love to have dad here to share the positive outcome with us, but in his absence he is very much with us in spirit ❤️
You should be very proud the sheep look good and so did you now Nick you tell that woman everyday how beautiful she is and how much you love her and you can't go wrong 😁💯😉🐝
Hi Joanna, I'm really pleased for you & Nick, your many month's of hard work has paid off. You timed it just right with the lamb sales. Let's hope next season is even better. Well done...🙂👍🏻👍🏻
Congratulations on your sales! It certainly is satisfying after such long, dedicated work. I know all about it. Time just seems like it's flying. Only like yesterday my sheep were laming and now the lambs are gone. Kept replacements, And before you no it spring will arrive again! Keep up the greatest work 👍
Thank you james, I appreciate the comment and yes if you understand what goes in then you know perfectly how it feels! And doesn’t seem a long time since lambing but also a lot has gone in since then to keep the lambs and the farm in good order … next up the tups go back out and I get nervous hoping all goes to plan !
Amazing prices & looking after your various sized lambs so superbly waiting the right time to sell also - that geezer at Bagshaws should do The Grand National very entertaining - Brilliant Farmers Joanna & Nick - the lambs after they are judged and rated one of them wanted another go around the pen !!! x
You have both done a really good job of raising your lambs, dad would been really proud of the way you have both worked together. Excellent job. Take care xx
Hi Jo Well done and congratulations to you and nick on all your hard work. It's all payed off for your lambs breeding season. So happy for you both. Maybe a bit of time you relax now Both deserve it. Love Kim xx
Hi Joanna great video again thanks, the lambs look awesome you both should be proud of yourselves. What great prices you ended with just shows hard work does pay off. Well done again take care and stay safe 👍 😊.
Ahhhh thank you Kelvin!! We definitely should feel good about it, especially after a fairly challenging period for lambing time with awful weather ! The lambs did great in the end
Well done both of you, your lambs looked excellent and you deserved every £ that they made, The buyers don't want poor looking stock, hence the rewards for your diligence and attention to detail that you show, and now you can get ready for the next tupping season with renewed vigour and confidence knowing that you're on the right track. Best wishes from EA.
You two are getting this down to a science now. Great work! Jo you look so stressed in the sale ring. You have nice lambs to sell. You need to put on a big smile and do a bit of Vanna White in the sale ring. (you might need to look her up😊)
Being emotional about the lambs is the farmer in you not the business woman but of course the two go hand in hand. The year has been bad for the farmer but good for the business woman. Nice lambs.

Great job....👍👍👍...lots of work but great to see a good payday.....

Well done. Thanks for sharing your auction day results :)
Thank you for watching and the comment !
Here in the Netherlands 30000 sheep did die from bluetongue.😥
Very sad. Like when we had foot and mouth here it was devestating and serious
Being emotional about the lambs is the farmer in you not the business woman but of course the two go hand in hand. The year has been bad for the farmer but good for the business woman. Nice lambs.
Thank you Adrian , I think I’m the sort of person that feels and thinks / reflects deeply so lots of things evoke strong emotional feelings and energy!
Yeah it’s been a strange year for the farmer ! Weather has been pretty rubbish but good grass which is the main thing for the lambs

Who needs An Aerobics Regime?? ... Just take Yer sheep to Auction 😂😂
Haha 🤣🤣🤣
Always anxiety about how well the lambs will sell fer.
Yes!! I don’t have many things make me feel as nervous as that !
In the old days fat lambs got a subsidy , if they graded , guess that’s not a thing anymore 😉
I wouldn’t know 😐
Why do u go in the ring with them

All the girls, yourself included, looking good....... Nick not so much!
