This year has been full of changes and I guess it’s time for one more lol. Thanks for following my journey so far, I’ll see you next time.

My first semester of bachelors was very hard, but I realized that in order to graduate I had to make some sacrafices, I had to put friends second, and I do trips during the summer and winter break. It gets easier once you know how to balance it. I Suggest going back and taking 2 classes.

I absolutely hated every minute of my PsyD degree. It is a field of hell. You can still do a ton of good for people without sacrificing your own mental health. Support you 100%.

That was unexpected, you quitting grad school. But your happiness and comfort level is more important. We support your decision and we know you'll choose a path that allows you to make a wonderful living and still have that intentional living thought process of being happy in life. Your emotional stability and understanding what decisions support that stability is key. And we see you're learning that and that will keep you happy throughout life.

Trust me, it was unexpected over here too 😂
Thank you so much Sal! Sometimes we have to experience a time of being out of balance and unhappy to realize the things that are actually important. I appreciate your wisdom!😊💛

I found you by looking for tech jobs and this really resonated with me. I am quitting a four year health grad degree half way through because I wasn't really "living" outside of constant school only to not really know if I will truly be happy when I graduate. The sunk cost fallacy was really real for me having spent so much time/effort and money into this career path. It's scary making decisions like that because you don't know if you made the right decision. I really like what you said about there being no right or wrong decisions in these scenarios and that we just have to make the most of the choices we make. Thank you for being so honest and sharing your story! Best of luck to you in your next endeavour!

I have been following you through my other channel since I encountered your manual QA videos and hearing that you felt that you needed to prioritize yourself WHILE having that "philosophy" to help other people in another way resonates with me. Currently working as a Recreation Therapist, graduated with this degree/concentration, and I am trying to transition myself to another path where I can be more happy and satisfied with my time while helping people too. I cannot handle direct healthcare anymore but looking to help people in other ways. I was actually getting emotional/teary eyed when you mentioned about your mood swings and that's how I feel right now. Thank you for sharing your story and hope to hear about your next adventure!

I can super relate to this video. Thanks again, as always for sharing your journey. There's another plan for you, another path and you can be very proud of yourself, for at least gave grad school a try. Everything you have learned there is valuable for the future anyway. Wish you all the best and luck in the world! 😘

I needed to see this! I’m sooo happy to have come across your channel. I’ve watched so many of your vlogs. I’m currently looking to make some major shifts in my life, I’m currently a nurse and I’m not happy with my career choice. I was in school last summer for my BSN and I quit because I too could not figure out my why. Thank you so much for your transparency and honesty of life’s ups and downs. I’m now looking to break into the IT world as a QA engineer. Currently in a boot camp to facilitate that. Again thank you so much for your content ❤

Yes girl! I've had this video save in my watch later because life's been busy...but I was in the same exact boat at the beginning of the year except it was my job not school. I had all the same thoughts as you and hated where I was and told myself I needed to go back to school in order to find a job I wasn't miserable in. But at my heart knew that wasn't the answer. I made the step to change jobs and it was a tough decision but the best I made. I don't have a dream job or something I'm passionate about, but it pays the bills, I'm not overworked and miserable any more and came to the same realization that I can be happy with a basic job that I'm not passionate about ir "helping" people with. I can help people in other ways...and now I have more time and energy to do so

I mentioned this in your other video but still applies, but I think its great that you always do what's right for you even if its scary! The unknowns can keep us in situations we may not be happy with so sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Wishing you the best!

This is great news! You came to your senses. I seriously did not understand the move to grad school. Leaving a growing industry for humanities? But who am I as some random person on the internet that doesn’t live your life? 😂
Yes, to life lessons hopefully it wasn’t super expensive and good thing you have a supportive man. As women our natural nature is to add chaos but our men help up reel that in. Seems like Jackson has your back.
About 3 years ago I was just getting into QA when I found your videos. I’m grateful that I found this “unknown” career path I’m able to be a SAHM and and contribute to our family’s generational wealth. I love learning and I’m currently weighing the pros and cons of learning Python for automation testing or maybe I will stay in manual QA. 🤷🏾‍♀️
Sending positive vibes on your QA journey and hope your able to find a QA team that allows the flexibility for family and friends. Maybe work for a company start up that mixes psychology tech?
Happy, I can add you back to my UA-cam rotation. 😂🎉😂

As someone with a psych degree, I kind of knew you’d quit it because it was so random to go from tech to psychology.
Grad school is like two whole jobs

@@MadelineElaineYT same…I look at some people who are in their 60s/70s, who are still extremely passionate about their “thing” in life, even if they could’ve retired a long time ago. And I never had “the thing”.

Hey, thank you for making this video. At which institution were you studying?
I currently work in technology and would like to pursue psychology but in my country that would take +-5yrs.
If only other industries were as easy to transition into as tech is without years of schooling.

  • @lasredchris

Why not find a way to combine the skills you had from your last job/field and your interest in psychology in a way you could help people - let that drive your next job search? This is what I try to do
With technology, your work will scale and could help a lot more people than you would 1 on 1 as a therapist

I’ve been watching you for a few months now, found you because I’m a new grad student. I never comment but..Quitting is extremely scary, and I admire you for listening to your heart & discussing it openly. I hope you find that balance you are looking for. Do less, live more. Excited to see what comes next!
