@@divineappointment3178 Correct… the heat was just too dangerous… that’s why TXSU also did their camp inside… these are high schoolers… good luck explaining to a parent why their child passed out under your supervision.. I’d practice outside for a short period of time because again these are minors and plus the heat is no joke
The kids practiced outside in the morning and at night. The final performance is inside these days. It’s not only the kids that have to worry about with the heat index but also the parents, grandparents and siblings on performance day. Sometimes things just aren’t worth the risk.
Fam it was like 2 or 3 counselors at most only because they wanted to even without them we still woulda been just as thick and no tuba counselors played it was all kids
@@h0nchxent850 this the thing being in fla from south fla. We try to support each other Especially with your staff being people we personally know from FAMU or BCU even more from Highschool. He wants to do something different . SO CAMPERS MARCHING WITH BAND MEMBERS IS FLO MO THING COOL. But don't go criticizing FAMU for the traditional things they do calling it boring. I had a blast when I went to FAMUs camp and I went to two different band camps this year. I learned so much and met a lot of cool people. If you haven't been to FAMUs camp don't say it's boring.

Only problem I have is FAMU not outside doing band camp. The gym just don’t do it for me but that’s my school. We were always on the field in the 90’s
Heat index nearly 110°.... safety first.
It wouldve been a safety hazard
Band camp was done outside 6am -11pm. Inside was show case for parents Friday night and Saturday so we wouldn't be outside
