  • Front Brake Service & Slider Pin Replacement - Ford Fiesta 2011 rattling noise over bumps cured:-
In this video I disassembled both of the front brake calipers and gave every working component a good clean up and installed some new slider pins in both of the front caliper carriers. I reassembled the braking components with fresh brake grease applied to the correct places. The car was rattling while crossing speed bumps and potholes etc. I was able conduct a stationary driveway test for this in the video by simulating random road conditions.

Thanks mate, broke the bolt going into the slider pin.

Great video, just ordered a brand new slide bracket from autodoc and the slide pins were stiff to the point were they’d stay all the way pushed in and would only return by manually pulling them. I’m gonna send it back and do the same as what you’ve done in this video, i bought some drill brush attachments for internal parts so hopefully that’ll get rid of the corrosion in the slide bracket

Nice video, hopefully helps me identify the rattle on rough roads on my 2015 Focus ST which I thought sounded like a heat shield,
Can usually only hear it with window down and radio off, then I thought it could be the o/s front drop link, I looked and all was ok,
Gonna get wheel off and rubber mallet it, if confirmed it's going to garage for a service, new discs too they are pretty scored.

Thanks, brake pads can rattle in the calliper bracket on any vehicle, a quick test is to drive over a speed hump etc with the brake pedal slightly depressed and see if all is quiet!

@@TheRepairer Yeh thanks, after failing to find fault on drop link and shifting focus to callipers, I've spent this week trying to break on rough patches when I hear it,
Pretty sure it does get quite with breaking (limited testing in traffic) so it could be just the pads fingers crossed.

where are you jacking the car up from? thanks

I’ve had a look at the video and I’m reasonably sure I’ve jacked the car up centrally under the front subframe in order to lift both front wheels simultaneously. Regards

I only use them if I’m placing myself underneath the vehicle.
