And was married to Joe Jonas, Taylor’s ex-boyfriend from a million years ago, with 2 (I think) kids. In Taylor’s words, “picture me thick as thieves with your ex-wife…”
A lot of "cool" swifties joined the hate train because of the line "hey kids, spelling is fun!" since Taylor has already established herself as a great lyricist and for others this was just pure juvenile. But they missed the point. It was meant to be that way. Playful and fun. This song is still 🔥
As a big Panic! fan, a lot of Brendon/Panic! at the disco fans disliked the song at the time as well, since he is more into an alternative scene, so he has been called a sell out at the time, lol. But I promise you, he is an amazing perfromer, even if a little bit over the top for some. Someone please recommend Don't let the light go out from the 2022 VMAs or High hopes from Rock in Rio or even Bohemian cover. I count on you Panic fans from the patreon, lol
Please do Panic reactions. Brendons been titled as one of the best vocalists. Brendon uries best live vocals from pop crush is the best one. He is just mental that's why he seems like that, he's always energetic esp w songs like this. Ive been the biggest fan of Panic for over 13 years, so this just melted my heart when it came out ❤ Catchy song and its not as hated as some say, i genuinely see 80 percent of the time positive reviews of this saying its a good sing along
i know you mean well, but he has very strong case of ADHD plus anxiety that he said transforms to energy on stage. calling him mental because of that just doesn't seem right.
@@xxShadowOfTheWolfxx As I said he uses it and so do I. Ever heard of coping? Bc that's what u gotta do. Either laugh about it or stay inside and cry about it. I chose, and clearly Brendon, to laugh.

That Brendan guy is literally the lead singer of a panic @ the disco. He made this performance you should watch Jonas brothers collab at vmas 2021, it was so good
Please do Sufjan’s latest album that he dedicated for his late partner. Wonder what you guys will think of it. I’m here praying for Sufjan’s recovery and hope he’s doing well all in all. Cheers!
I think she said in Miss Americana that this song is supposed to be for kids, to make them feel good about themselves. But this is one of the most controversial Taylor songs because so many people absolutely can't stand it. At the very least, it's definitely not anyone's favorite song. The music video is cool, though, as others have said.
I love that Taylor seemed to love this song. I hate that she got basically bullied into editing the “spelling is fun” bit out of it, but it’s definitely at the bottom of my list…along with shake it off. But to each their own.
You're not the audience this song is aimed at so no surprise it doesn't appeal. It's for teens to bump their self esteem and be fun and wholesome to dance around to. Every artist has some songs and styles that people will skip and I'm sure she has plenty else to come that you will love.
By far the worst of her worst songs but I bet it was super fun to be at this performance. Shake it Off actually has a bite to it if you listen to the lyrics. She definitely has something to say there.
i think this is a radio song and it was made for that reason. but i still don’t like it. it’s one of the songs that make lover be lower in my ranking. same thing that happens with shake it off in 1989. i understand why these songs exist but i don’t care for them. and i think that’s ok. people get mad about it but it’s just, it is what it is.
This is probably Taylor Swift's most "hated" song by swifties, and in my opinion rightfully so. Taylor also knows this as there is no other reason why the lead single of Lover isn't on the Eras Tour setlist and hasn't even been a surprise song! The lead single!! Can you imagine if she didn't do Anti Hero or Shake It Off?? Anyways, ME! Just felt so manufactured. She talked in her documentary about how she thinks (now thought) Lover was going to be her last successful album and everything about the promotion felt like that: Artificially manufacturing a pop-star moment. She was trying to make it her second Shake it Off, and trying to desperately "recover" from that dark image she had during Reputation (which she hadn't btw, she just thought she needed to recover from that). Lover and ME! Were her try to write about (self)love again (which she already did in rep ofc, it just wasn't part of the album aesthetic), and her try at political activism (which almost immediately stopped after the Lover era) This and the other main singles of the Lover album just feel cheap, overproduced and NOT like Taylor Swift. Also Brendon Urine has an annoying personality :D Luckily, because of the Eras Tour, arguably one of the best songs on Lover (Cruel Summer) is now her most known and most streamed track from the album, and she released it as a radio single a few months ago. (No hate ofc I love taytay and a lot of songs on Lover BUT the promotion, aesthetic and ME! with You Need To Calm Down really were terrible (again, in my opinion, especially young swifties seem to love everything about lover))
I ain't reading all that but I will say it isn't that hated whatsoever. Its a good catchy song and a feel good sing along. People say swifties hate it yet if u look all over the internet u can see it clearly isn't.
I@@rachelBradyni Very cool you ain't reading all that but if you did you would find out why I'm right. I actually have arguments that aren't "It's a catchy and fun song".
@@mstrmren I did actually just read that bs and you're saying points that don't matter. People really hate this song but I like it 🤩
I love it. It’s fun
It's fun and has a good vibe
6:29 that's Sophie Turner. She's an actress, played one of the lead characters on Game of Thrones. She's actually one of Taylor's closest friends.

Many hate this song. but it came to me at a time when it made me smile in a sad time. I will always have a beautiful memory of that.
Brendon is amazing in his own band and songs
