When my girlfriend and I started dating I would pretend that I never had to pee because I never wanted to go to the bathroom at the same time as her. Like if she said “oh I’m going to use the bathroom real quick” I didn’t want to be like “oh me too” but I also didn’t want to wait for her to come out and then be like “oh now I suddenly have to go” haha so I was basically always about to pee my pants in the beginning
In some Asian country, if the couple is told to be looked alike, it means a compliment that you guys were born for each other. It's like a fate that you guys will be together forever. In my country, it is.
I'm a lesbian and my ex-girlfriend and I look nothing alike so we didn't get the sisters-comments, but ALWAYS the best friends-questions when holding hands etc. My favourite story is when my ex and I were invited to a party where we didn't know many people. We introduced us with a couple of guys sitting and drinking. They seemed cool so we wanted to join them. There was only one empty chair at their table, so my ex sat down on my lap. I was hugging her from behind and kissing the back of her head. The guys said "So, you two are like best friends, or what?". I smiled calmly to them, and said, dead serious: "We're actually cousins.". Then my ex turned her head around and kissed me on the mouth. We had a great laugh after seeing their shocked/terrified faces lmao

My mom has always referred to my wife as my "friend". We are recently separated I told her we were both sad about it. She says even to me, nobody else around, "well you both will be for a while. You were 'friends' for a long time." It's disrespectful and homophobic. On a more positive note no matter our relationship status we have always and probably will always share clothes and accessories. Lol ♡♡♡♡♡
ugh...the worst nightmare...when your parents disrespect you and your partner. It happened to me too... my father called my girlfriend " Oh so your boyfriend sent you some money right? " . He's homophobic and won't accept us.
So here's something you should tell them. "I am happy with my partner and your being disrespectful which make us uncomfortable. Being around family members shouldn't feel uncomfortable." If they care about your happiness they will apologize. If they respond nonchalantly then unfortunately you'll need to stay away from negativity.
That pisses me off so much. It's toxic and narcissistic. I would probably "snap" and post flyers all around the house and (maybe in the neighbourhood) saying "Hey, I have a wife, not just a friend. Hope you understand now, mom. Since you cannot learn things when people speak, maybe you can understand them when people write.".
I lived about a 4 hour train ride from my GF and grabbed some flowers for her when I changed trains. When I got there she met me with a bouquet of roses. Awkward but kinda nice. We had a good laugh.

I've been dating/living with my GF for almost 5 years, and my mother still introduces her as my friend or my best friend. Then it's like awkward standing there, I', looking at my mother in disbelief while my GF is looks horrified almost and doesn't know how to move on from it. It's hard and very disrespectful, hopefully one day she'll be able to actually acknowledge what's happening in front of her eyes.
What if your mother believes some friends are like you 2 until they enter straight relationships. As a boyfriend placeholder or self pleasuring for single people. What if they been in the same situation and they're like " been there, done that, I know what this is "
You should just correct her right away when she does it. Might be a little embarrassing for her, but then again she's putting you in an uncomfortable situation too.

Yeah... I've been introduced as "family friend", "college friend", "work friend" or just my name and nothing further. At a gf's family party one of her cousin thought I was my brother-in-law's gf "because I spent so much time with them" she couldn't even imagine I was her gf and not his.... 😵😨🤦
Love this video! In Dutch the word for -friend who is a girl- and girlfriend is the exact same: vriendin! So when my GF and I introduce eachother or someone else introduces us, it's ALWAYS weird😂 I want people to know we aren't just (girl)friends, but GIRLFRIENDS, because I'm so proud to be with her, but with the language thing it just sort of hangs in the middle and makes for some pretty awkward situations😅

Yeah in Hungarian too > barátnő. When it comes to introducing I usually hold her hands or show some affections so actually not that hard to clarify the situation. :D But when it’s just me trying to tell how I will spend the evening with my (girl)friend eat out or shit - with me being fully out I can always see them giving me the ‘soo that’s gonna involve sex or no’ look. :’D
I remember dating a lady and we went to a bar with a group of our friends. I wanted to have a bathroom break to check myself in the mirror and get more centered because I felt a bit anxious, but the lady came in there too, and it was a tiny two or three person bathroom. We could have girl talk about how the night was going with the other friends not listening, but there's something odd about checking how you look to someone who is standing right next to you when you are first dating. You want to look nice for them, but you don't want to look too vain or insecure about it.

Happy for you all. My aunt is in a lesbian relationship and as a kid I didn’t think much of it. haha..... when my ex-girlfriend would blatantly tell me how hot some woman was, to make me jealous, I'd respond, yes, she is very hot. She'd shut up fast..... haha.
Here is the thing about doppelganger. A long time ago, reading about psychology, I came across that we, as human beings, are tent to date a person alike us, not exactly as a double but with some similarities with us; therefore, we can tell it is a psychological thing: To feel attracted to people that somehow look like us.
Bro this kinda happened to me with my best friend (girl) we where at a sleepover ( before we where out to each other) and I was like "so who you got a crush on". And she was like "well who you got a crush on" then the best thing in the world happened we both said the same person
I myself am so not my type. My gf looks completely different from me, and if I weren't with her, I'm pretty sure I'd have a gf who also looks very different from me, most crushes I've had do.
9:39: all historians, all of Hollywood & dubbed anime/anime outside of mangas and Japan : they were friends, they were cousins, they were sisters, they were best friends, they were roommates, they were just ‘really close friends’
I had a situation, where a young woman that liked me after meeting me in a bar during a lesbian event gathering, followed me into the bathroom and waited for me to come out of the stall. And as soon as I did, she was right there, in my face, and proceeded to ask for my number and facebook. Took me a little while to get over the shock and awkwardness of doing all that exchanging of info, in the bathroom of all places!!! :-/
Can you please make a vlog of how you girls manage your finances( if it's too personal I understand u don't have to ) especially not having a full time job n yet you make it look so effortlessly easy( which I know is not the case) to travel to all these places, it would be of great help to many people who wish to do the same but are too busy with their full time jobs n worrying about the salary etc etc...
+Beulah Mavis Timothy We‘ve had a few people asking so we’ll do it. But spoiler, there is not much of a secret to it. We just saved up and did it, but who knows maybe we’ll have a few tips to share!
Studies have shown that people are attracted to people who physically resemble themselves. So a lot of people, regardless of sexual orientation, wind up with people who look startling similar. Definitely can see it being more noticeable in the LGBT community because there's a lot more that can add into that resemblance like body structure/silhouettes.
So funny story, my partner and I asked each other out at the same time and the same exact way. I luckily got it out first but here’s the image, I drove to her family cabin for the holidays and I knew I was about to meet EVERYONE and we weren’t dating yet (how lesbian of us lmao) and so I planned to bring her flowers and ask her to be my girlfriend. As soon as I asked her, Jess laughed and said yes, to which I was confused. So I went into the cabin, said hellos, and moments later when we were alone, Jess brought out flowers and said, “you beat me to it, but I was also planning to ask you to be my girlfriend.” So I truly hope if we get engaged that it doesn’t happen again because I really want that to be special lol
We always be mistaken for friends. We have straight friends, and when we go out, guis always hit on us. When we say, hmm we're actually a couple, no one believes us. Hate this. We're like in the middle of our 30.
I have an exact opposite annoyance........ when I'm hanging out with a friend (always a different friend too) at lesbian events, it annoys me when other lesbians think we are together. And when I tell them, we are just friends, they won't believe me. We don't touch each other at all, we don't even sit close either.
I would have never thought you look like sisters. I'm straight and I know more man/woman couples and I'll never forget that when I was a teenager a girl I knew brought her boyfriend around and we all just stared. They looked like twins. It freaked us out. I tried so hard to just be quiet and respectful. I hope it worked, but I'll never forget it.
I think wether it's a same sex relationship or some hetero thing there are always couples that look alike. So it's not just a same-sex thing. At least that's what I noted.
Maybe the difference is that in a straight relationship both partners look like "the female version and the masculine version" of the same person 😂😂 But in a lesbian relationship you both are the female version, so you both look the same 😂😂😂
Azul Méndez yes but masculine women exists lol I’m masculine and my partner she is feminine and we look nothing alike! In fact most people mistake me for a guy haha
oh wow she changed her hair again!! 😯 & the color how cuteee :) great vid! 😂👏🏼 recently in sociology i learned that we are more commonly attracted to people with similar features to us.
OMG once I asked a lesbian couple if they were a mother and a daughter. I feel so ashamed. After that I tried to be super friendly, but I think they hate me :D IDK what should I say if I meet them another time
Maybe the doppelganger thing in your case is about the energetic similarity between you two. They mistake that for looking the same - which isn't true at all. They're reading the energies.
One time I was with my ex about to board a train and the employee recieving out tickets asked me if she was my son... I replied SHE IS MY GIRLFRIEND and she frown
One time I got off airplane and was picked up by my girlfriend (we are in an LDR) and we were wearing the exact same outfit. We went out to lunch and the waitress asked us if we were sisters. 🤦♀️
The bathroom thing has happened to me! My crush and I were at a friend's house and when I came out of the bathroom, I found her in the hall waiting to go in...I did not like that! I want to also comment on the doppleganger phenomena. Hopefully, I'll articulate myself well, lol. Both of you are incredibly beautiful women, but I do find myself drawn to Lilian's face more and I think it's because of her nose... I have a similar nose-tip as hers, but growing up I felt very insecure about my nose in general. And while Lilian's is a prettier nose, having that shared characteristic with someone so obviously attractive seems to validate the potential attractiveness in mine. So, my theory is that if a person feels low about their appearance and then meets someone with a similar look but who is attractive, then the crush develops. Does that make sense? Love your content!
Worse than being called sisters: being called mother/daughter. My future wife is 10 years older than me and so many people mistake us for daughter/mother. I am always disgusted by the idea of what kind of relationship some people then must have with their mothers..
Interesting..... my ex-girlfriend was 11 yrs younger than me, and never did people think we were mother and daughter. We weren't the same race, and I've always looked younger for my age, so maybe that's why.
@@deniveave4612 the fun thing is: she doesnt look older, maybe slightly. But not enough to have me as a daughter. Of course we are often mistaken as friends or sisters as well. I think the main reason for these things is lesbian invisibility: people cant imagine 2 women in a sexual relationship.
@@elwoodmo0n That's what I was thinking. Some people are so desperate to find a logical acceptable reason for why 2 women are acting so close to one another, and being related is the best explanation.
I have a girlfriend currently, we are only 14 and it's super awkward. We talk a lot through text but don't have classes together and are both in the closet about being bi from our parents. We hang out for maybe 1 or 2 minutes a day- I try to propose more opportunities to see her and even kiss her but she gets embarrassed and runs away. Idk what to do and I certainly can't ask my parents- My friends are all straight so...
A lot of people have thought my partner was my teenage son. He's non binary. I told him the next person that asks that I'm going to tell them yes and then just start kissing him deeply and talk about how cute he is. LOL
Even though you look quite different, I noticed for the first time that you actually do have some similar facial features. 😊 Your noses look almost identical from the front. At least on this video. But no worries, you do have very individual looks. Loving your content. 💕
Yeah we get the sisters thing from time to time. Apparently our facial features are similar, which I dont think they are that much, but we both wear glasses and that does it I guess? Otherwise we really have different hair, different style, so yeah it keeps on amazing me where the sisters thing is coming from. As for the proposal: that sounds more cute than awkward to me! I think what is more awkward is asking her to marry you once she had already asked you and you started planning the wedding, so you obviously already know the answer and everything. That was a bit awkward to me (but still totally worth it!) Fun video, happy to see you two again :)
Owww being introduced as a real close friend by your fiancee's mother, that is definetely the most awkward commum thing that happens, and stand there unable to say, I'm more that just a friend!
You both are hilarious and kind beautiful ppl. ive noticed dopplegangers happen in straight relationships too ....... you should do a doppelganger makeover episode
yeah, my dad used to have a co-worker friend, where his wife looked like him. When I saw them together, they looked like a brother and sister who had married each other. They had the same color hair, skin, and even the same type of nose shape, it was weird.
The crazy thing about the sister/best friend situation is everyone always assumes my best friend and I are dating (and I know a lot of girls get this) but everyone assumes when you have a same sex partner that you’re just really good friends or related???? How is it always wrong?
Me and my girlfriend look very similar, to the point where we will mistake pictures of us for being the other person on first glance.... We joke that we have high self esteem and love ourselves.
Ok so I have (sort of) experienced the first one!! And I never actually thought anything of it until now. I had just met this girl the weekend before while out drinking with some friends, we ended up exchanging numbers and talking quite a bit throughout the week. We planned to meet at the bar the next Saturday night. Saturday night comes and neither of us knew the other was there yet, and I walked out of the bathroom stall to her directly in front of me standing at the sink. It was a really awkward moment, I was a little mortified. Idk why it never crossed my mind that it would be something to worry about when getting into same sex relationships!
My partner and I live in Japan...which isn't always the most welcoming place for a lesbian couple. Because of the conservative nature of my career, I can't really be out in public here, although everyone close to us knows that we're a couple. Recently, I had something bad happen to me which required getting the police involved and a lawyer and they were with me to support me. The police and the lawyer had no idea what to do with us, since they're Japanese and I'm white and not 100% fluent so that throws the sisters thing out. So they end up awkwardly asking "so ummm what's the relationship between you two" and we answer quickly "we're friends"...which they accept with a hint of suspicion...
The bathroom thing! So true. But I realised it in a different way. I was at a madonna event and got to talking to a group of lesbians who were really nice... i was also questioning my sexuality having only been with men at that point... and i could tell one woman really liked me but i was not into her. It got a little intense for me (she was not inappropriate but i generally find it very uncomfortable when someone is into me and i don’t feel the same) so i excused myself and went to the loo... and she followed me there! This would not happen in most public toilets if you are being chatted up by someone of the opposite sex - the toilets are a safe haven!! Also people haven often asked me if my boyfriend is my brother!
I did not used to used to support same sex because it was hard for me to take in..... But that was past... I have full support now guys... .... All the best to you two guys... I will you stay together forever..... Love from your bro from India 😄😄
So around 9:00 you guys were upset about the thought of someone having a crush on someone else. I used to think a bit like this, however now that I'm with my amazing girlfriend, I realize it's 100% possible and valid to form crushes on other people. In fact, probably quite healthy and even romantic (I'll explain), especially if you communicate them to your partner. If you announce that you find this person outwardly attractive, a blip on the radar, and tell your partner, and then continue on merrily in your relationship, it's like stating "Yeah, I just saw a drop-dead-gorgeous human, but I care so much about you that she doesn't matter. I am committed to you. Our love is serious, that's just a crush." If you change your outlook on that, it can be a small boost in comfortability in your relationship ^_^
Wearing each other’s clothes is awesome and economical;)))) And having crush conflict also happened to me but it was cool because we just stared at the same woman in the mall and later smiled at each other XD
One of the awkward situation happened to me when we go to a sports activity together during the first date or one of the first dates and we need to use the locker room. Especially in these very public and very liberal locker rooms. It may be a case of 'We haven't gotten to that stage yet'...
i was at a bar on a date and I said I needed to go to the restroom and the girl was like wait up im going too and she kept talking to me while we were on different stalls which made me kinda awkward but honestly we were both kinda drunk so idk it didn't matter and the rest of the date was great
lmao I was thinking in the beginning of the video that y'all look alike and then you brought that concept up! I've heard it about straight couples too though.
My friends are always weirded out with how affectionate me and my brother are... we hug on a regular basis, like, when we cross each other in the hall way.

Bro this kinda happened to me with my best friend (girl) we where at a sleepover ( before we where out to each other) and I was like "so who you got a crush on". And she was like "well who you got a crush on" then the best thing in the world happened we both said the same person
I had a crush on my friend's ex gf once before he got with her and during their relationship. Tbh I still feel awkward about it
I am in this situation right now :(
I love how alexis is always trying to sneak smooches
I myself am so not my type. My gf looks completely different from me, and if I weren't with her, I'm pretty sure I'd have a gf who also looks very different from me, most crushes I've had do.
same lol
That's the love. Your interaction, connection and understanding of each other just makes me smile.
I actually really like the buzz cut on girls (sorry if i mispelled that ...)
Mougenot Noémie u didn’t
@@AlexisLilian Many Thanks u guys for taking time to respond....any tip is most welcome ❤️
Excellent idea.
Both of you are natural talents. All is so spontaneous and full of joy. Thank you for sharing your hapiness.
Update?? I love this!
watching your videos feels like spending time with you two. you’re so cool people to hang out with! :)👌🏽
We don't touch each other at all, we don't even sit close either.
make a video about being bi and in a wlw relationship! cutest couple!!
You just installed many new fears in me😂😂😂😂😂
Lilian your hair is amazing! You both literally have two of my dream hairstyles?!?!
I would have never thought you look like sisters. I'm straight and I know more man/woman couples and I'll never forget that when I was a teenager a girl I knew brought her boyfriend around and we all just stared. They looked like twins. It freaked us out. I tried so hard to just be quiet and respectful. I hope it worked, but I'll never forget it.
i just gotta say Lillians hands are gorgeous
I think wether it's a same sex relationship or some hetero thing there are always couples that look alike. So it's not just a same-sex thing. At least that's what I noted.
Maybe the difference is that in a straight relationship both partners look like "the female version and the masculine version" of the same person 😂😂
But in a lesbian relationship you both are the female version, so you both look the same 😂😂😂
@@azulmendez6946 haha yes! That's a good way to describe it :)
Azul Méndez yes but masculine women exists lol I’m masculine and my partner she is feminine and we look nothing alike! In fact most people mistake me for a guy haha
@@sleon2528 hahah yeah that can happen too 😂😂
being single way too long, not dating or meeting new poeple i dont know how it feels to be in a relationship anymore 😂 happy for u both 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈

"Dopplebanger" needs to recognised as a legit word. It's so funny 😂😂😂
Hello dr
oh wow she changed her hair again!! 😯 & the color how cuteee :)
great vid! 😂👏🏼
recently in sociology i learned that we are more commonly attracted to people with similar features to us.
Lillian - you’re hilarious 😂 Loved your intro with the bandana. You looked like a gang member 💪👍🏻😂
OMG once I asked a lesbian couple if they were a mother and a daughter. I feel so ashamed. After that I tried to be super friendly, but I think they hate me :D IDK what should I say if I meet them another time
I have done this before!! And i have pretty good gaydar but these two didn't have any of the conventional behaviors or tells. I felt so bad.
I love this video, everything you mentioned I actually find very cute and charming instead of awkward. I’m day dreaming over here hehe.
On the crush conflict though, my ex slept with my crush after we broke up. Talk about double heartbreak!
Hello
The first one with the toilet reminds me of Lilly Singh’s recent video :D
Idk what to do and I certainly can't ask my parents- My friends are all straight so...
you guys look SO much alike its scary, one just has blonde shaved hair but this is my first time on your channel and i’m a fan
A lot of people have thought my partner was my teenage son. He's non binary. I told him the next person that asks that I'm going to tell them yes and then just start kissing him deeply and talk about how cute he is. LOL
The sister / best friends thinking happend A LOT to me in the past.
Even though you look quite different, I noticed for the first time that you actually do have some similar facial features. 😊
Your noses look almost identical from the front. At least on this video.
But no worries, you do have very individual looks.
Loving your content. 💕
I look just like my gf lol. It happens over time! You start becoming one, sharing clothes, etc . People always think we're sisters haha
Thank you!! I’m too scared to ask my parents. I feel too embarrassed and uncomfortable. I appreciate you so much!
I enjoy watching how much in love with each other you are. ♥
Hello dr
Owww being introduced as a real close friend by your fiancee's mother, that is definetely the most awkward commum thing that happens, and stand there unable to say, I'm more that just a friend!
You both are hilarious and kind beautiful ppl.
ive noticed dopplegangers happen in straight relationships too .......
you should do a doppelganger makeover episode
yeah, my dad used to have a co-worker friend, where his wife looked like him. When I saw them together, they looked like a brother and sister who had married each other. They had the same color hair, skin, and even the same type of nose shape, it was weird.
I got the sisters comment with my ex and we look nothing alike 🙄 it was annoying 😂
My friend and her girlfriend did a homecoming proposal to each other at the same time. Not quite the same thing, but it was still cool
The crazy thing about the sister/best friend situation is everyone always assumes my best friend and I are dating (and I know a lot of girls get this) but everyone assumes when you have a same sex partner that you’re just really good friends or related???? How is it always wrong?
I love you 2 together 🤩👌🏼 I love Alexis hair!
me and my gf asked out each other at the same time lol
You guys are pretty freaking ligit! Love love your material! It always makes me laugh!
The toilet situation has happened to me!
After seeing you guys .....
...... I want to have a relationship!!!
🥰
P.S. you guys both are really cute!!
Loving your stories & the relationship tips ;*)
🙋🏼♀️🇨🇦
Our love is serious, that's just a crush."
If you change your outlook on that, it can be a small boost in comfortability in your relationship ^_^
i don't khown i'm lesbian or no but i'm intrested in girls
well are you interested in guys?
I wished this video was 20 minutes longer
And i wanted to say that Alexis hair looks great
Wearing each other’s clothes is awesome and economical;)))) And having crush conflict also happened to me but it was cool because we just stared at the same woman in the mall and later smiled at each other XD
"I m more than a friend Susana" omg! Haha
Omg I thought I was the only one who was weirded out about couples who look very similar….I’m so glad I have a term for it now😂😂
Lmao. "Oh...that's how you do it." Can relate.
One of the awkward situation happened to me when we go to a sports activity together during the first date or one of the first dates and we need to use the locker room. Especially in these very public and very liberal locker rooms. It may be a case of 'We haven't gotten to that stage yet'...
Haha , I would have never thought of the bathroom thing
girl and boy: "are you sisters?"
Me:...
ArE yOU BroTHER AnD SISTer!?
Yes the couples who look the same. Have seen it so often! 😂😂😂Looove the hair 💪
Alexis is so Beautiful literally my dream girl. Lilian is insanely gorgeous as well 🙂big fan of you both # couple goals👭
i was at a bar on a date and I said I needed to go to the restroom and the girl was like wait up im going too and she kept talking to me while we were on different stalls which made me kinda awkward but honestly we were both kinda drunk so idk it didn't matter and the rest of the date was great
that you can never love her without feeling jealous of her and feel she's a superior woman to yourself, you can only try not to, but that must be fun.
The caption said "love from South Africa" and I squealed coz I live in Joburg!
Im in Cape Town

lmao I was thinking in the beginning of the video that y'all look alike and then you brought that concept up! I've heard it about straight couples too though.
My friends are always weirded out with how affectionate me and my brother are... we hug on a regular basis, like, when we cross each other in the hall way.
