I'm conflicted on the grinder and the vise locations. On the one hand, the vise would be more versatile mounted on the corner, where you have more clear space under it in 2 directions. On the other hand, having the grinder on the corner, means debris from grinding doesn't get infused in your ultrasonic cleaner, as the vise would act as a deterrent to its flying debris. Thinking on it, I would likely hedge towards the vise on the corner.
Make a base for the grinder that can be held in the vise, this will kill two birds with one stone, the vise can go where it works best and the grinder will have a solid fixing point but also be movable for storage.
vice on the corner for sure, maybe even add a 2x4 or two under it for support. One simple leg isn't really enough when ya wanna bare down or bang. The grinder can float around with clamps forever if ya want, especially if ya don't have a sweet spot for it. I have one that mounts to a table outside when a mess is undesirable.
I was thinking the same thing, Arch. The short piece of 2X4 would not only give it support but would raise it up an extra 2”. As for the grinder, I can push it to the back and pull it forward when I need to use it. It has rubber feet and is plenty heavy enough so it won’t walk when it’s running.
