To the guy who said the RX100 6 was the same as his smartphone, please tell me which phone you have. I haven't seen a smartphone that comes close, and not even remotely close at 200mm.
For the realization of vlog tech especially in the studio, and some outdoor videos, for a novice beginner, which one would you recommend me between the Sony RX100 M6 and the new a6400? I am very undecided.
For work indoors I'd look at the RX100V or RX100VA before the VI, the lens is more than 1 stop faster which will help in low light. The a6400 has a mic input and it will perform better with a nice lens, but it will be more expensive. It just depends.
@@aows Thank you, probably I'm going with a6400 with kit lens 16-50mm (because in bundle) +Sony lens 35mm F/1.8 OSS. So I can experiment with different shooting techniques as I am learning the art of videomaking recently.
For those who have multiple cameras for different purposes, it’s worth noting that you can take the RX100 VI some places that you can’t take the 6500 (or any interchangeable lens camera). I want a RX100 just to be able to take into different venues that don’t allow ILC’s. This model provides a good balance of speed and reach for those scenarios.
Tamas Varga I agree that I’d prefer the constant 2.8, but for the purposes of concert photography, I feel like I need the extra reach of the Mark VI. I’ve strongly considered both the Mark VI and the new VA. I haven’t decided if I need the reach or the constant 2.8 more. Wish there were more options in this category.
Question???? I do a lot of photography from the back of a moving Harley. I have been shooting with an IPhone X. I recently enlarged one of the photos to an 11x14 and was somewhat disappointed with the results, it looked pretty good but some of the lines could have been sharper. I’m not sure if that was from just general movement or just the limitations of the iPhone X camera. I am looking at the rx100 vi for its compact size and ease of use. I own a DSLR and only shoot in full manual on it, however going down the road on a bike you don’t have much time to adjust settings and I don’t have room for the bulk. Main question, will pictures taken with the rx100 vi look good when enlarged? That is my main concern.
It might have been better to compare the a6300 with the RX100 VI. It doesn't have IBIS and is close to the cost of the RX100 VI once you put lenses with comparable range on them ($1,150 with the 16-50 and the 55-210 ... a kit at my local shop)
I bought the rx100 6 and it’s not very comfortable in your pocket and the image quality is pretty similar to my phone so I returned it. Probably going to get the a6500 next
The rx100 vi has more zoom but the rx100 iii-v had a faster lens (35 mm equiv's). 24-75 f/5.3 - f/8.4 Sony a6500 24-200 f/7.6 - f/12.3 Sony RX 100 VI 24-70 f/4.9 - f/7.6 Sony RX100 III-V
Just wanted to point out that those apertures are equivalents for depth of field, the RX100V does have a 1.8 lens which will let as much as light as a full-frame 1.8 lens :)
@@aows That's actually incorrect. The focal length of 24mm-70mm is the full frame equivalent. With the crop factor of 2.73, the real focal length is 65mm-191mm [oops I multiplied instead of divided]. The full frame equivalent of the fstop is 4.9. That's pretty good, but it's not 1.8. This line of cameras is highly deceptive.
@@epiphoney the actual focal length of the RX100V is 8.8mm-25.7mm. The f-stop is 4.9 when it comes to depth of field. Once again, a 1.8 is a 1.8 when it comes to the amount of light that lets in.
@@epiphoney a full-frame sensor is bigger, that's why. The amount of light that reaches the sensor is the same though. That's why an exposure of, for example, 1/60, f/1.8 and ISO 100 is the same no matter the size of the sensor (1-inch or medium format). The only thing that changes with the size of the sensor is the depth of field. And of course bigger sensors have better performance in high ISOs, but this is a completely different issue.

Can I get a lens that has the versatile zoom rx100 has?

But hampered by the slow lens... and the stabilization is not that great either.

taylor wilson There is no way this camera will work for concert photography unless it's outside on a sunny day.
taylor wilson and I have this camera but I kept my G5X because I haven't decided if I keep the Sony.
@ Sony Please update a6500 with full touch capability, type C charging, pop-up EVF, 180 degree flip screen, better ISO & AF

Yes. This is a real camera with a great sensor and lens. Not comparable to any phone.
I have the a6500 and love it for travel!

Give me a Full-Frame sensor in a A6500 sized body for another grand or so and I’m sold....

have and love them both, excellent video keep em coming
Which is better? I am going on Rammstein concert, there will be low light. A6500?
Luvd d comparison bro 🔥🔥🔥
Great comparison. Just picked up the rx100. May soon get an a6500 if I find the RX to not get me shots I need.
Malachi Adams Let me know how that goes. I’m thinking the same.

wait for the A6700 coming soon

This video is like comparing a pickup truck to a sports car.
First. 6500 for more lens option.
No mic input. Not for Vlog.
