"First, remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother's eye." --Matthew 7:5 You are correct to place the prayer for yourself before the prayer for others.
Very nice work. I like the paracord a lot more than the wool. Would you ever consider making another paracord prayer rope with 33 knots like the paracord one you have to sell? Please let me know as I’d definitely buy one. Thanks!
So 1. You kinda have to say the name "Jesus" in order for it to be "the Jesus prayer" 2. The knots are important as they are made by doing 7 crosses. Tradition is that a monk tied a knot and the devil untangled it. So the monk asked God to show him how to tie a knot the devil couldn't loose. And hence you have the special knots made of crosses. 3. The red beads can be an "Our Father" or "Hail Mary" or a prayer of the theotokos (mother of God) So you practically just protestantized a beautiful Eastern Orthodox/Eastern Catholic tradition. What you have isnt a Chotki or a traditional prayer rope. It's a made up version.
The chotki knot is traditional, but not absolutely mandatory. You can even have a prayer rope without any knots; there are some where all the knots are wooden beads (this is within the Orthodox tradition, by the way).
back in those times, i believe they called all of it wine even if it was grape juice because thats all in the fermenting process and to get it to be WINE, it takes loads of processed sugar. my grandparents made wine, jam, jelly and anything they could think of to use up those numerous huge purple grapes they grew on a very old vine and the tree that the grapes thrived on. as a young girl i used to watch the process happen in the basement of their tenement building. smelled great down there too. grampy had the huge kegs, wine press squeeze thing etc. my relatives were fine pure old italians. anyway, im sure back inn jesus day they drank more grape juices than wine.

I'm Methodic also, and like the Prayer Rope/Bracelet also. Like your humour. Thanks.
grat video but you should mention unless I missed it, the prayer rope is held in the left hand while making the sign of the cross with your right.
Amen ☦️

Search for a orthodox shop and you should be able to purchase one.

Not all can do the chotki knot easily

@@someguy9571 I think his main point is that without the proper understanding of the prayers, and the tradition to guide oneself, it is incomplete.
