Cant hear anything over the background music, the details of the bikes were preached twice and it was more like an advert for triumph than a 'VS' video
It turns heads for sure. People gather around it pretty quick at the pub. Had it for a year. It's a really fun bike. The only complain I had was the front fork. Bought k-tech tracker kit and it's amazing all around now. Buy it for the style and passion not the price.
Nice review, ive put a deposit down on the street cup at the local dealership, new but pre reg with 0 miles on clock £6995 with free bell lid (140quid) cant wait to pick it up now.
As far as looks go, contrary to what Ducati is known for IMHO, the Ducati just doesn't look at all like a "Cafe Racer" to me. The Triumph has the classic look for sure, like you could own it for 20 years and it will still look great. I don't have either, just my opinion since he was asking in the video. Monsters and Panigales look great, Scramblers look like budget builds. I like the gold wheels but that's about it. In another review someone said that they actually thought there would be a burn mark on their leg through their Kevlar Jeans from the Scramblers heat off the pipes. Kinda what I experienced on the Panigale 959. Very hot.
It's a shame that your country makes you put those ridiculously huge license plates on the back of their bikes. They could really make those about half the size.
I personally like and prefer the Street Cup. I like the looks of it. I agree it could use spoke wheels but that's not a deal breaker. Plus, I just don't understand why Ducati keeps staying with air cool engines instead of liquid/water cooled. Let's face it; most people will be in the city and during the summer those engines will it a tad hot! Triumph went to liquid cooled around 2017. Maybe with a 125cc Grom or a 250cc bike I wouldn't care, but not anything over 300cc. Of course that's just my opinions. Both bikes look nice, but again I like the Triumph Street Cup and I'd get it in their Yellow/Silver colour. :)
Comparing apples with peas. The only common thing is the "cafe racer" attribute. The Ducati is more an Italian race bike than a british cafe racer, the Triumph is more an old dude's bonneville, it's no racer at all.
...and the weight - the Ducati has just 188 kg curb weight, the Triumph 230kg or even more. That's a world of a difference while moving the bike through narrow turns, or on the parking lot.
I unsubscribed some time ago, but I saw this video and thought, OK, lets see this. Unfortunately for Visordown, motorbike review production quality has gone forward and left these guys in the dust. Look at a typical Fortnine, Revzilla, or Motorcycle.com review and you will see a well designed review of bikes. The main guy is likeable and knowledgeable, but the planning of this review is not good. ...and asking a Triumph Ambassador to choose between a Triumph and any other bike is uttlery pointless.
Gerhard: I agree! This guy dropped the ball when he asked the wrong person what he thinks of the Triumph Street Cup. One thing to mention as well is the video production was entirely poor. I got motion sickness from watching this video. Did they not consider using a better camera with image stability? Go pros are great but not when interviewing!
I normally like the guy who does these reviews but he lost his logic on this one. How can the street cup be a café racer if it weighs a ton? Isn't the Duke doing a better job of providing a modern take on the café racer? And what was that comparison with the Suzuki? Is he kidding? If the Duke is overpriced then the Triumph isn't much cheaper. If people bought bikes for practicality then everyone would be riding chinese scooters. I think he was affected by all his pommie mates at the "tea and bickies" ride.....
I totally agree with you all points! Well said. The Ducati is 500 quid more that the lump of lead looks bloody sexy and ridiculously slick to the point I’d happily pay a grand more for the duke. The triumph needed so much help to beat the Ducati IMO the presenter gets a triumph bloke to rate which of the two he prefers?? Wtf was all that about. It’s like asking bush if he prefers trump or Clinton. Duh?! Go figure.
How compare scrambler to caféracer.....I'm italian but....anyway Triump cafè street cup are 2 time better then scrambler Ducati.... I have Street Cup...and she amazing in every way...one of best bike on markets now, sorry for Others... ;-)
chickentikka25 what’s a hipster? So any person wearing old fashioned clothes is a hipster? Ok than your grandparents are hipsters stop judging people on how they look you don’t know anything about these people nor their background nor what they have been through but certainly you can judge them by how they dress.
Embarrassing, they seem to have forgotten, or never knew, what biking is about. All this posturing in tweed looking at slow heavy bikes is missing the point. The sooner this fad is over the better.
Mr J As mentioned it's to promote men's health namely Prostate cancer. Also the Distinguished Gentlemen's ride events are held in many countries around the world.
What a horrible sound test of the bikes.
ducati is just wow
Any false neutrals on the Ducati?
Cant hear anything over the background music, the details of the bikes were preached twice and it was more like an advert for triumph than a 'VS' video
I couldn't disagree more with ducati cafe racer...it is just stunning in opinion...I can't help than just looking at it all day

lol funny thing is after all of that time i wasted to hear which is better they decided on the basis of one having retro clocks?
Can barely hear what anyone is saying with that bloody background music
nope, only the annoying high frequency interference all the way through
Ok an English guy reviewing an English bike vs an Italian top end bike guess which bike he will choose 😂
He'll choose the bike he prefers which just happens to be the better bike. The Triumph.
Background music and shaky camera work with shady conclusions.
It's a shame that your country makes you put those ridiculously huge license plates on the back of their bikes. They could really make those about half the size.
High pitch noise in background
I bought the Street Cup.
How's it going? I'm considering a 2017 model with around 11k km. Yellow/silver and grilled head light

Provided you get one that was well maintained, you WILL NOT be disappointed.
Love my Street Cup.
Feel bad for brits for those big ass plates. Also why are you revving the snot out of them on a cold start
How do you know they were cold?
So much redundency! Did anyone look at this video before publishing it?
Ducati all day long.
Both bikes are great. but I personally like Ducati more

What on earth is a Scrambler Cafe Racer? Is it a Scrambler or a Cafe Racer? What confused bike.
Much prefer the standard models.
I wish they'd cut the music.
Ducati all the way, it needs the 1100 evo lump though.
Good review details.
bloody ol music now listen mate..we need more vocals...ok right o! lol

Whatever! Both are underdogs of the yamaha XSR
He check the Sound with his Microphone near the Engine....sooo Stupid !!!

The mention of how much more the Ducati costs than an SV is just to illustrate the price of fashion. It seems a fair point to us.

Hipsters. ..not a fan
Boring review !
Aarrgghhh!! Hipsters!!

haha, hilarious review.
click bait. Utter pretentious shot from a nobody
these two are not in the same league. Power to weight is like chalk and cheese.. Buy the bike that moves you , this comparison is simply bullocks.

? It's been going since 1947....
All these elitists telling people how to enjoy their motorbikes are missing the point. The sooner you stop riding the better. How does that feel?
Also this ride is for charity

wozza59 Jimmy Saville did a lot for charity, it doesn't make it right.
