I get these occasionally. I microwave them less than it calls for a check out. Then I remove the ones usually around the edges that are done so they don't overcook. Then finish microwaving for those that need it.
For the 2:30, I try around 2:12 and go from there. I do exactly the same as you! I remove the done ones and finish off the less cooked ones while I scarf down (too quickly) the cooked ones. hehe
I eat these like once a month but I always get ones with toppings, never just cheese. As you said, the cheese ones are bland. Yes, the stuff doesn't run off if done in the oven. Also a lot of the toppings and pieces of cheese fall off when frozen so I always have to add them back on the bagels before cooking. There's also always frozen pieces of cheese stuck on the bottoms of the bagels.
I used to like Bagel Bites, but they changed something about them. They don't taste like they used to. They also used to have cheeseburger bagel bites that had cheese sauce, hamburger crumbles, cheddar cheese, and a dollop of ketchup. Those were awesome but were discontinued in the 90s.
100% agree. I grew up eating these along with hot pockets back in the very early 2000s and late 90s. back then the bagels were tasty and they had way much toppings. now just like hot pockets they started getting cheap with their ingredients.
I used to lave Bagel Bites, but they changed something over the years, that I just don't like the taste. I make my own pizza bagels with einstein Bros. Pretzel Bagels or Lender's Egg Bagels. Thank you Kevin.
Lenders has changed too! They used to be a go-to for a frozen/refrigerated bagel, but they taste odd to me. I thought I was the only one who went for egg bagels! Cool! Yeah, you're right, though, the pizza bites do NOT taste like when I was a kid. They seem pretty artificial and because of the way they cook (unevenly), they aren't as enjoyable. There is that innocence of youth with these foods!
@@jbjacobs9514 You are spot on about the Lender's. I've been buying them for years and have noticed that besides shrinking in size, the taste isn't as good. I haven't been able to find the Lender's Egg Bagels here for a few months now, so have switched to the Bagel's Forever Egg Bagels. Egg Bagels are my absolute favorites.
@@JohnMC61 It is very hard to find an egg bagel most places! Egg bagels rock! I used to always get egg, pumpernickel, or salt bagels. I like everything bagels now, but wasn't a fan as a kid, though I did like poppy or sesame. I will have to look and see if we have Bagels Forever.

I buy Pumpernickel Bagels from Einstein Bros every Monday. Bagels Forever is a frozen bagel. Most of our grocery stores have it by the frozen bread products.
I used to make my own pizza bagels in the toaster over (or ham and cheese melt bagels), which are far superior, of course, but these are fine in a pinch. I don't think I ever tried pizza bagels anywhere but the microwave for these frozen kind. They never have seemed to accurately cook all around, no matter the wattage of the nuker. You just kind of live with it if you're eating these. LOL The sauce has always been a bit odd tasting to me. The bagels are fine, when they are not too chewy or too hard. The cheese is decent.
Best microwave pizza I've found are the Red Baron Deep Dish singles. The supreme is very good. I add some banana pepper rings to it and it brings up a notch. They used to have microwave breakfast pizzas that were amazing but they were discontinued unfortunately.
So I totally agree with you that these aren’t worth getting… but I think the texture is awful… I don’t know what is wrong with the “cheese” as it liquifies in the microwave but doesn’t melt at all in the toaster oven… it just burns… is it real cheese? I know you’ve reviewed other brands and I dint think you liked them either… these are a good concept… but the execution lacks…
Bagel Bites can be a hit or miss with the toppings and very plain. I agree, kids wouldn’t mind them at all. Thanks for the review Kevin.
