I need to look into this for my Passat. Having problems with starting out from a stop light and engaging. Thanks. PS you might want to refuel before more test drives 😂

Same. Even with a tune. It's painful. Like fall flat on your face painful.

It definitely helped, runs great now. It’s my wife’s car now, seems like doesn’t matter if I fill it right full the fuel light will be on next time I go to drive it

    cool video, thanks.
I'm trying to do a "basic settings" procedure (as in your video) for my DSG6 transmission in my Seat Altea 2005 2.0 FSI. But for some reason my VCDS pages/groups dont match.
    I have a HEX-V2 adapter cable.
my VCDS is version 23.3.1 (sop newer then the video).
For some reaon my ATF temps are in group 008 and 010 and not in 019 like they show in the video. 019 actually just shows ERROR.
Then I went into "basic settings" and looked up group 061 and it just shows ERROR. Neither are the other groups they mention in the video.
What am I doing wrong? any ideas?

Hey Josh. I know I'm late to the party, but was wondering if I could get more info on the drive cycle recommended by VCDS. I'm experiencing the rough shifts from park to drive and from park to reverse as well. Thanks for all you do!!!

Ross tech has a little write up on the bottom of their dsg adaptation page. I did it and it still was prettt rough but it’ll do the adaptation automatically as well

Nice video Josh.. I did a complete DSG service on my TDI sportwagen 2 yrs ago but I only have ~10,000 mi on the new Fluid, although I never did the VCDS calibration and adaptation.. as your video shows, I did the service all by the book, and used the transmission temp to properly set the fluid level at 39° C I have had no issues with shifting at all , when I was waiting for the fluid to get to 35-45° I went through all the gears to ensure all clutch packs and areas were bled with air .. the car runs smoothly and perfectly when I drive it, with now working from home I don’t put miles on it anymore.. ok question is would it benefit me to do this calibration or do I not need too

I wouldnt worry about it, it resulting in a few days of pretty rough shifting. If shifting gets worse or does some funny stuff then i'd think about it then

Josh. I’m looking for videos about injectors on my CJAA and am not finding much. Basically wondering if I can swap one and four around to see if the P13CE code Follows the injector. Also, I have a RepairSol2 scanner, but From what I can tell, it looks like I’ll need something more on the line of a VCDS to program new injectors into the system? How much is a guy going to need to spend as a “DIY mechanic” just working on his own stuff?

You can swap them around, I think for diag purposes you might get away with not coding them but swap back after. As far as tools obd11 is cheaper but is subscription based, vcds has a enthusiast version which you can program up to 3 vehicles (but read and delete codes on as many as you want)

Thanks for the help. I see your channel is growing but I hope it really takes off for you! Seems like most channels seek drama over usefulness anymore!

After my DSG tune, I drove it easy for a few days to relearn. Have had no issues.

Yeah I’m not certain how much these can “re-learn” until needing this adaptation. It had the funny engagement for the couple thousand km we drove it and never got better. This adaptation made it very aggressive but smoothened out after it did it’s drive cycle relearn thing.

Hello Josh, I had to replace the gearbox on my vw Passat 2008 2.0 tdi CBBB DSG 6 speed , I have done all the work properly also flywheel and oil and filter. The car doesn’t run properly, disengaging the gears , D flashing on dash , not engaging Reverse , please if you can give me some advice that would be appreciated. Thank you

There must be codes stored in the auto controller, could be something simple like a sensor or the mechatronics

Run the adaptation a few more times, this won’t make you lose gears unless there’s an issue already
