I much prefer racing without the magnets too . No need to feel bad about you videos style ...i really like how you put it up bloopers and all .I do everything on my phone so im very impressed with your post quality. Harry
I have a 36 foot oval that I run 1/25 scale models on H&R, Carrera and scratch built frames. I run magnets and I don't experience violent crashes. Less desloting and resloting. Great to see another slotter on UTube!!!
Totally agree, As a racer of any thing I can get ahold of, going fast is the one and only point. Ive crashed carrera cars at as high a speed as they will go, never broke one. They're tough. Ive tried no magnets on carrera cars and they slither, and spin, and fly off track, they never get going. If someone comes over to drive a car, with no magnet they cant drive it. With magnets they can jump in and be circulating well enough to have fun.............everybody does it their way. Slot it cars have 1 tiny magnet, and they work good that way. All cars are different.
I wonder how these new carrera cars would run with only the front magnet I remember Ninco cars back in the day had a magnet up front and those cars handled pretty nice but you could fish tail them around the turns other than with the fly and scalextric cars with the magnets out towards the rear of the cars that just stuck and popped off..
@@garageofslotcars Hey I got a carrera car some Audi gt type car and took the rear magnet out and only left the front one and man I suggest you give it a try. They handle pretty good but you can also power slide them and they run really nice not glued down like with the two magnets... If you try it let me know how you like it.
I enjoy your content. Not sure I can run no mags with the people who stop by. I run 1/24 on Carrera digital with Smart Race. I have some BRM no mags but i won't let visitors run them.
Can I suggest you run the chassis only and do lap times then reduce body weight by removing the driver and interior of car, the chassis only time trial will tell you a lot about the balance, carrera bodies are heavy and I find they are top heavy, What tyres are you running on the car you ran now, have you tried softer compound and done comparison The tyres don't look factory fitted ones and I doubt they are because the poor car would drift the entire circuit on them and spin like crazy when you give it max throttle at beginning of straight
Okay, this was counterintuitive to me. I figured the magnets would add weight and slow the cars down, but also add stability and keep the cars from crashing. It looks to me like it's exactly the opposite?
The cars are faster with magnets because they are pulled onto the track with magnetic force, but there is no warning as to when you have reached the limits and will suddenly and violently come off the track. Without magnets the cars require more throttle input, they slide out around the corners and you can tell if your to fast and they dont fly off the track without warning. I have found it more fun and more realistic. With added weight in the right places you can make a non magnet car as fast. I am just now experimenting and learning how to do this
Be very careful of dropping those magnets onto each other the can shatter sending shards flying, its happened to me, I use them for a few woodwork projects
How do I race/setup no magnet cars without sliding/drifting into the corners? I’ve added new race tires and weight yet still have serious driving/wrecking issues! Thanks
I replaced all my r1 tight radius corners with r2,r3 and r4. So larger radius corners. Also practice you have to slow yourself down and control your drift (part of the fun of no mag is drifting). Also clean your track and tires, dust is really a grip killer
I have read that wd40 is not good for tyres it dries them out ??? I use a were corner of a fibre cloth and give each rear tyre a rub down, works very well
I don't see how the cars get less damaged. In traffic with other racers, the cars with no magnets are constantly slapping each other on the corners and you're constantly stopping the race for crashes...plus they're SLOW. A race with no magnets almost requires marshalls for the corners, as you will constantly be wrecking when in traffic. My cars with no magnets are all missing mirrors and the paint is jacked up from smacking each other in the bends.
Cool setup. For your audio you might want to experiment with a small bluetooth headset while your in the open area. Or if you're ambitious hang baffles in the rafters but that can be costly. Getting rid of that cavernes cave sound goes a long way with presentation. . . . But then again, what do I know!
Thank you for video, BEAUTYFULL Cat

I race with some friends and we all race no magnets. We feel it is much more like real racing. Have fun and thanks for your videos!!!
Definitely a lot more fun without the magnets Jeremy 👍👍
Great video!!
I really like your cat just like a kid they want to play with the empty box
Nice set up, track looks awesome 👏
You seem to have a helper!

Many people only remove the front magnet and like it. I just decided all or nothing LOL

love the cat
How do I get in touch with you. Would like to buy some of them magnets. Keep up the good job of making videos.
Thank you, but my wife used them on a project
Cool channel cool Cat! Thanks!

Exactly. 1/24 with no magnets means if you're in a corner with another car...crash.

Stock carrera tires, most are not good at all. Some kinda work. I take em off and chuck em right away.
They rot sooner or later.
Simba is cool

@@garageofslotcars That makes perfect sense.

What is your lap time with a little wipe of wd40 on the tires? We get really good magless laptimes.
Im still removing all my magnets, then i will start trying to improve times. I have had good luck in the past with wd40
I have read that wd40 is not good for tyres it dries them out ??? I use a were corner of a fibre cloth and give each rear tyre a rub down, works very well
Do you find less damage to cars without magnet?
Definitely!
Where are you? Kansas? Michigan?
I am in Derby Kansas, My wife is from Upper peninsula michigan

i think you enjoy better the track without magnets
Try adding a little lead weight,it helps. No need to be more professional being real is all we need😊

Going to shop for microphones this weekend
Nevermind I see difference
You "feel" much more of a difference than you can actually pick up on video. You have to "drive" more without the magnets
Yes sucks on R1 curves almost need to stop lol
Loves R4
Yes i only have 2 r1's
I have too many 😩 1 set R4 19 R1 slowly 🐌 purchasing other turns
Start removing tonight
