“I’m also excited for the dragonborn to use their breath weapon as an attack.” A sentiment that many experienced 5e players have felt, an ability thats cool and good at level 1 and then never again. Lets see it be a staple of the Dragonborn loadouts
Not only that but we are in a way getting Gem Dragon Breath Weapon, and Psionic attack options as they're adding Gem Dragons as a Dragonborne type.
I have added an extra die to it and given it a recharge of 6 and all my dragonborn players have adored it.
@@thezerowulf507 I'm just imagining the potential usefulness of the Gem Dragonborne as not only do you have the Gem Dragon Breath Weapon as a attack, but you also gain access to some Psionic attacks, but also a potential resistance, or immunity to Psionic attacks due to the one of the Gem Dragons' specialties being Psionic attacks.
@@thezerowulf507 Making it improve like a cantrip might be interesting, and maybe giving it 2 uses per short rest, or that recharge on a 6 as you've done might be what I would do.
Yup. Should've been this way from the very start.
Many good DMs homebrewed this to allow dragon born players to have a recharging breath weapon. Then you have some that fall back on the "OMG ITS OvErPoWeReD!" despite clearly not being so. Wonder what those guys will say when this book comes out and is official D&D at that point. Course, I have seen some DMs petty enough to ban entire books, so who knows. But I don't play with such people. :)
I just want a dragon pact for warlock.
It’s called dragon bloodline lol
@@danielderamus9573 no that is a sorcerer. Not a warlock.
Kobold press made one for Tomes of Heros if i recall . But the book won't come out for at least a couple of months .
Since we haven’t seen a UA on it, I don’t think it is coming.
@@clintm4186 The point is that Draconic Sorcerer covers this. A dragon can make a pact with you and give you power. Draconic Bloodline should have been a Warlock subclass originally.
It seems like a huge mistake to not make a Pact of the Great Wyrm considering they are introducing the concept in this book.
Look up Great Wyrm Patron by The Arcane Athenaeum on DM’s Guild
Maybe it will be included. WotC is not going to give away all the secrets before the release. Have to leave something for the readers to find.
@@craigjones7343 we literally know that there’s only 2 subclasses in the book and what they are. There’s NEVER any secret player options. All future player options are always publicly available and tested through UA. If you want to know everything coming soon to D&D keep up with UA.
Agreed, but instead they cheaped out and told us to just reflavour the Fey patron to be used with the moonstone dragon.
@@KevinVideo ya I really hate that response
I'm still thirsty for Circle of Dragons and Pact of the Elder Wyrm, but I'm really happy with what we're getting
I actually agree with his reasoning of dumping the Circle, but i have to agree with Pact of the Elder Wyrm i would love an official version.
So make it
@@thezerowulf507 that doesn't give them something they can play in adventurers league or many private games
@@aidenharper6013 plus the flavor possibilities of a dragon pact warlock say, also being a dragonborn and sorcerer, perhaps being descendant from an evil dragon and making a pact with a dragon of the same element but metallic to get basically some reassurance of staying away from their bloodline's evil influence
@@Karak971 they never said they did, and its a small minority of people that do
1:59 Why not both? It really does suck they won't do a Circle of Dragons Druid. I personally can see how a Dragon Druid and a Draconic Sorcerer would coexist, much like how Tempest Clerics, Storm Herald Barbarians, and Storm Sorcerers coexist without stepping on each other toes. I do hope they reconsider this stance.
I think a draconic Barbarian would be sweet
I love druids, but I think they made the right choice. Ranger is often associated with monster hunting/taming so I can see a ranger specializing in dragons
Druids are more spiritual, they already have a lot of elemental themed spells and are not directly associated to particular monsters, it would feel a bit redundant. Besides, the Circle of Stars offers some dragon themed features already
It's really annoying considering we have Eldritch Knights, Hexblades, and Bladesingers all coexisting in their niche with each feeling unique.
There's a problem here, and that's that making a Dragon Druid NOW would likely be vastly more powerful than the Dragon Sorcerer, which they adamantly refuse to resolve. So even if you had both, Dragon Sorc would almost certainly be effectively abandoned.
Ill be straight with you, i love everything about this book, EVERYTHING!!
BUT MAN! We reaaaaally want more dragon subclasses for more classes, we want it, like, really badly.
We are ABSOLUTE dragon nerds
Mostly I'm disappointed that the kobold was removed
@@LoudAngryJerk wdym kobold is removed?
Wow. He talk really nice
@@einfachilya6903 I assume there was gonna be a revision of kobold
@@LoudAngryJerk it’s probably gonna be in that upcoming book with 30 races, new and revised. They also ditched the Feywild Hobgoblin, which I was looking forward to.
Just give more spells to the draconic sorcerer, it's not that they are bad, it's that they are underpowered when playing in medium to high levels of play, because they lack the spells and the high level subclass features other sorcerer subclasses get.
if you compare Draconic bloodline with Aberrant Mind there is no competition, at level 6 as a draconic bloodline you get the ability to add your charisma modifier to a damaging spell of the type of your draconic ancestry, you may also spend one sorcery point to gain resistance to that type of damage for one hour. Meanwhile at level 6 Aberrant Mind gets:
-The ability to use their sorcery points as a substitute to spell slots when casting their Psionic spells, and if you cast those spells in this way they do not require any vocal, somatic or material component (so long as the spell doesn't consume it's material component)
- you gain resistance to psychic damage, and you have advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened
For the same level they get almost trice the features, either give them some spells or improve the features they have.
For the campaign I'm in I was able to talk my DM into extra spells known. Domain spells as it were. Going fine so far.
I'd argue that this is the sort of thing, along with things like "fix monks", that will be addressed by the 5.5 DnDNexter release in a couple years. I'm not arguing it shouldn't get fixed. I'm just saying I think it's likely coming (and vaguely more appropriate) in a re-release of the PHB than a single supplement. ESPECIALLY if the only way you can play a fixed draconic sorcerer in an AL game is only to have this new book. Tasha's is a bit of a strange bird in terms of supplements historically, and I don't think we should expect every set of player options to continue to "fix" old stuff in the PHB. Trust me, there were things wrong with 3.5 and 4, too, and I can't remember too many books that said "instead of what the PHB says, this class actually does this instead" options. Always "more options" rather than "fixes". Even the fixes in Tasha's for rangers are technically optional.
The dragon monk kinda reminds me of the dragon shaman from 3rd/3.5 and I've been wanting a dragon warlock patron for sooo long!!
Wait wait wait; you’re telling me that a Circle of the Drake Druid was on the table and you didn’t make it?! Nooooooooo!!!!! A Druid who’s devoted and protected lands is the region of a dragon or multiple dragons is an amazing concept! You don’t necessarily have to make it similar to the Draconic Sorcerer, I’m sure you could’ve workshopped it! Now I’m sad 😞
@The Meaning is Always Vague I absolutely LOVE the Drakewarden but not personally too attached to the Monk so we could swap one WIS class for the other 😂
"Something else that came through the playtest feedback and that was people liked dragons" Strange... maybe because the game is called Dungeons & DRAGONS? :D
Crawford no one was asking about a wizard subclass for dragons and you know it, i see now that the reason they didn't want to make a dragon warlock patron is they felt they wouldn't be able to do another full caster inspired by dragons. That wasn't different enough from the sorcerer. The thing is the sorcerer focuses on the physical traits of a dragon, the warlock could have focused on the magical aspects of dragons
what magical aspects they turned dragons into flying blocks of hp in 5e
@@MrGalagoth you right if they hadn't nerfed dragons into big lizards maybe this wouldn't be a struggle for them
@@MrGalagoth if you see them as just "flying blocks of hp" that's on you. Are they less magical than in earlier editions? Yes. However they still can be incredible spectacles when the fights are done properly, for example actually using a dragon's lair actions. These are beings so infused with magical energy that they can shape the world around them by just being in it, that still seems pretty damn magical in my book.
@@Karak971 the lairs actions are ok but I just ended up giving my dragons spells and class levels
@@MrGalagoth If you read the section on dragons in the MM, there is a sidebar ALL about making dragons magical.
Dragons can know a number of spells equal to CHA mod, of a level equal to or less than their a third of their CR. They cast these spells without neefing material components. Any and all dragons can get this, meaning any and all dragons can be very magical.
Dangit! Still no dragon Warlock Patron! At least it sounds like our voices were heard and the feats are gonna make reflavouring another patron into a dragon fairly straight forward.
Not the same thing in my book, the fact that warlocks didn't have this option at 5e launch bogles my mind. The difference between a dragon sorcerer and a dragon warlock is, the warlock isn't as changed physically by the pact. While the sorcerer its apart of them and fundamentally changes their mind and body. Dragons also seem like the perfect beings who would make pact with mortals. Even more so then celestial which I love the celestial warlock I just wish there was more pact boon and evocation support.
@@tenaciousgamer6892 Dragons do not make pacts with "mortals", they eat them.
The fundamental difference between a draconic sorcerer and a warlock is that the draconic sorcerer has the blood of a dragon running through his veins and it is from that blood that a sorcerer draws his power while warlocks bind themselves into service to otherworldly entities in exchange for power and in turn, they act as agents in places where those entities can not exert their influence.
Why would a dragon enter a two-way pact when it can simply get what it wants without one?
@@MI982 you seem to be thinking of this from the chromatic dragon point of view. Chromatic dragons would definitely give their subjects power as to better serve them out in the world. In the case of metallic dragons they would definitely become the patron of a heroic soul
@@MI982 Go read Draconic Bloodlines last sentence. The one right above Dragon Ancestor.
@@MI982 Have you ever heard of kobolds? Alternatively, as someone else already pointed out, anything other than a chromatic dragon, or a dragon used as a character that the players are able to actually interact with?
The could have replaced the purple dragon knight with a purple dragon knight. This would have been so easy for fighter...
Honestly it should’ve been given an update and fixed and reprinted in this book. I completely agree it’s a missed opportunity.
Not exactly a dragon based class just based off the name of some cormyrian knights but I fully support updating it
"What we were hearing is that people wanted dragon flavor everywhere so we just made the feats"
Nope...were pretty clear we wanted subclasses not feats 😂
Seriously
Wheres my dragon warlock, were is my dragon fighter....
They dont understaaaaanddd we love dragooooonssssss
It's less work for them to add feats then take the time to create and playtest new sub-classes for every main class.
Also his reasoning behind not adding the druid made sense to me. I think that warlock and fighter definitely make sense but thats about it, i think they'll add them later, but it would look odd to do half the classes and not the rest. Better to make 2 then another 2 or 3 later down the road.
@@aidenharper6013 I definitely think it's a good argument! However I do disagree with it. Saying it 'eats the sorcerer's lunch' doesn't hold a lot of weight when there are many subclasses that overlap eachother. Plus, the Druids are nature itself, or at least the most out of all classes, not just plants and animals. With dragons being literally personifications of nature and the elements, it fits SO well with the druid. Besides, if we can have circle of the moon (which are elementals and already not as Fey, plant, or animal focused), then we can have a draconic druid just fine
I don’t really get the whole “we didn’t want to make a Draconic subclass for every class, so here’s a bunch of feats to flavor already existing classes”
That’s like if I didn’t want to give you a whole slice of bread and instead was like “ here’s some crumbs, maybe if you have enough you can make your own slice of bread”
Yea, like, what is wrong with having a dragon subclass for every class?

That said i still love the feats, nom nom, give me all the dragon feats
The fact that they made the Draconic Sorcerer able to gain their powers from a Pact with a dragon really freaking sucks.
And don't give me the "they don't want two subclasses that are too similar" bull. They made a Celestial Warlock and Divine Soul Sorcerer.
i personally think they started out not wanting to make subclasses too similar with the PHB because all the PHB subclasses are relatively different if a little basic at times, it isnt until Xanathars where they don't care about subclasses being similar
Still hoping for a Dragon Warlock Subclass.....heck, just a Dragon Subclass for every Class. 100% fine with them not all coming out with this book. Just hopeful we get it one day
Honestly, I don't get how they don't get how the players want Dragon subclasses flr every class when it is called Dungeons & DRAGONS
@@JonathanMandrake Although they are making it seem like us making other subclasses thematically Dragon is the solution. It's only a matter of time, they are just spacing stuff out for other releases most likely

Not this time around. The new class and subclass updates won't go into effect until 2024 when they bring out updated material for D&D 50th Anniversary/what some are calling 5.5 edition. Getting a new book next year updating playable races with 30 in said book. So be patient and only time will tell.

WotC: *Introduces god-like draconic beings in dragon focused book*
Also WotC: "Well everyone started asking us for dragon warlocks, but we decided nah, let's do monks and rangers instead."

Godlike dragon beings and no dragon clerics either
I think the main idea of the dragon monk is like the Greybeards from Skyrim
WotC doesn't need to tell us how to reflavor a class/subclass. We've already been doing that for years. If they were going to print a book about dragons, knowing how much the community loves dragons, they should have included more subclasses. I know that 2 subclasses is the standard but just watch them print another dragon themed subclass further down the road.

THE REAL ONES WILL KNOW... Draconic monk comes from Mike's Happy Fun Hour. Inspired by FairyTail. Many of the latest subclasses come from these lives... I miss that show. So informative.
I cant help but feel they missed the mark with the finished product on the Draconic Monk they made...Heard the difference between the UA subclass version and the finished version and they kinda nerfed the monk into the dirt.
All its auras got cut down to 10feet and they never go up. They nerfed the aura that used to have 3 effects to having 1 effect. And its capstone got turned from automatic 4d10 in its aura(which was 30feet and is now 10 feet) to 3d10 save or suck like a cantrip.
There are a bunch of other smaller nerfs that hurt it but nowhere near as much as these ones.

They made a whole book giving dragon feats, subclasses, dragon spells, but still didn't dare to touch the sorcerer? The only thing unique about it now is its lack of known spells and that natural armour, since metamagic feats and those draconic feats will be a reality.
Uh, is this sarcasm, cause there is the draconic sorcerer with wings
@@lasonris8934 pretty sure they’re talking about the Draconic subclass no longer being unique which they ironically talk about not wanting to happen but it’s easily happening between this and Tasha’s
@@lasonris8934 having wings is the least unique thing about the draconic sorcerer, especially for the level where it gets it.
At 14, the divine soul gets spectral wings, so that's nothing special.
An uncommon magical item (Winged Boots) can give you nearly as much flight as you could possibly want, and since its uncommon it is probably available from 3rd level.
Some subclasses get avatars of sorts, buffing them like crazy for 1 minute, while also having more spells in general.
So no, no sarcasm here. That subclass seriously needs some help.
@@misterdayne2792 alright then without taking the name or abilities, how would you make a dragon themed sorcerer unique
I want to hear another way it can be done
Honestly
@@lasonris8934 Just a guess at the very beginning of my morning, but:
They start with natural armour AND the resistance at level 1, while also gaining 60 feet darkvision if they have none, or 30 foot increase if they already have it.
6th level gives them the cha modifier to their damage type and the wings, because 30 feet flying speed really isn't that special.
At 14th, the Draconic presence kicks in with a 30 foot range, enhanced to 60 feet at lvl 18.
18th level: 1 sorcery point to become immune to their damage type for 1 hour, and also gain the equivalence of 1 legendary resistance per long rest.
I would also give them cha+modifier known spells and some sort of subclass spell list that has a good synergy with their dragon type: necrotic and acid for black dragons, fire and and enchantment for red dragons, illusion/enchantment and poison for green dragons, etc.
In general, just bumping it all one step down. Getting wings sounds incredible and cool at first, until you learn what nearly all other subclasses in general gets, and the chance for draconic presence is just so small. Not many campaigns reach 18th level.
Missed opportunity for a Purple Dragon Knight update. It's not like they haven't done that before when reprinting SCAG subclasses in a new book.
Well the Purple Dragon Knights are only really "dragon" in name. Probably was skipped over because they're not actually relevant to dragons, and I'd imagine they'd revisit draconic sorcerers before revisiting purple dragon knights, but that's off the table too.
@@WolforNuva I don't disagree with that assessment. Maybe I'm also biased because it's such a cool subclass concept, but it's executed awfully and I just want to see it done justice. Then again, a revised reprint could even add something or change it slightly to be setting agnostic and be a bit more dragon themed. Though that is a bit more than WotC is willing to do.
@@ehsanrahee7411 Yeah fair enough. Would have been nice if they did a bit more than just 2 subclasses, and even just revisiting PDK and dragon sorc would have been nice without too much extra work on their part.

I'd love to see a touch up of the Draconic Bloodline to include a different expanded spell list for each type of dragon or something of that nature.
Happy they took the feat approach rather than trying to stretch what seems a shallow concept into more full subclasses. This also makes character building more flexible.
An enjoyable interview.

2:24 Why are you concerned aboot another class eating the Sorcerer's lunch when the 5E Sorcerer's whole identity is eating other classes lunch when it should just be a subclass?
A dragon shifting druid would have been an amazingly fun addition. Too bad it go passed up for such a lame reason. Subclasses sharing themes already happens. I do hope they revisit that idea in the not too far future.
My outstanding question: are gem dragons a valid origin for draconic sorcerers?
Circle of Stars is okay but Dragon wouldn't be?
There's plenty of space for (an improved) Draconic Bloodline sorcerer and Dragon themed Druid... It's sad that these avenues didn't go anywhere!
The stars are way more thematic for a druid then dragons tbh, druids have always been about prophecy type deal second to divination wizards of course. I mean like prophecies are in like 80% of druid backstroies I've seen, dragons not at all.

This is great coverage, and maybe I'm just being impatient and it's in the book, but NO ONE has remembered to bring up,

We ask for things like a class or subclasses but instead have to make do with mostly feats. It's like asking for a car and being given a damn Flintstone-mobile, so you end up doing all the legwork yourself anyway.
Don't get me wrong, their reasons for this approach all make sense, but I just can't help but wish for more. Especially when I see all these 3rd parties making content that's much closer to what I was hoping for...

Could have re-visited Draconic Sorc though, they feel rather lacking, IMO =/
Personally, I would probably add a meta magic choice for them, or just give it to them much like extended spell lists which allows them to change the element of any damaging spell to that of their ancestry (fireball with cold damage for example if the ancestry is silver/white). For the expanded spell list, I guess dragon-related spells, such as those in this book could/should have been added to spells known.
Could have been great, I think.
My only criticism is that feats are optional. So players may not be able to do this. Furthermore, feats are already very scarce. Assuming you don't choose a variant human, or fighter, and that you go the average length of play, you get what 2, MAYBE 3 feats?
I almost think there should be something else, akin to feats, but more cosmetic/flavor in nature. And everyone gets one at level 1.
what about kobold?
Kobolds are supposedly left out of this book, which is a bummer
Just a guess, but it'll probably be in Monsters of the Multiverse. They claim to be compiling and updating a good 30 playable races from existing 5e books, except for the core PHB races and anything too intrinsically tied to a particular setting, so I think it makes sense for Kobolds to appear there. Keeps them with the other races from Volo's and saves a bit of page space in Fizban's.
@@Veltharis I'm excited to see how they update other races. Like, are they going to make it so locathah isn't garbage outside of a water environment?
It has been scrapped, apparently, sadly. They didn't mention the kobold race update anywhere ever since the UA.
While i was bummed that there's no sign of kobolds in the book, i'm glad that the UA kobold didn't get added in as it was. All three options for Draconic Legacy were lackluster, and Draconic Roar, well... they seemed to have balled up all of the Volo Kobold traits into a single ability; 'Pack Tactics,' 'Sunlight Sensitivity,' and 'Grovel, Cower, & Beg' get combined into this thing that just feels lackluster in comparison (I say it includes Sunlight Sensitivity because PT and SS tend to cancel out, and now since you don't have both passives, it's like they're -always- cancelling out while not under the new ability's effects).
Draconic Roar at a glance looks good, because you no longer have to worry about sunlight, you can still get your advantage, and you even get to give it to allies! That is, until you realize that you have to be near your foes to use it. So now ranged builds have take unnecessary risks to use their racial ability... on a race notorious for being cowardly and evasive. And while I can count on one hand the number of times i've used CG&B, That's more a result of party composition than the ability being bad-- which Draconic Roar will still have that problem (though admittedly to a lesser degree since you buff yourself, and its a bonus instead of a full action). All in all, it doesn't seem like a good trade.
you might say that Draconic Legacy should make up the difference, but all options are not very exciting;
- advantage against 'frightened' is very niche in most campaigns i've played, and I imagine it's fairly true for most tables as well
- a free cantrip is nice, but being limited to the sorcerer list isn't great. At least you get Booming Blade for free on your rogue, i suppose
- a d6 unarmed strike is rarely going to make a difference. It's great flavor and it will come in handy in 'oh no, our stuff was stolen' scenarios, but that's about all.
I'm hoping that if they revisit kobold, they take a look at what kobolds are known for, and maybe even look at the previous stat blocks for inspiration. If they want the frightened resistance, allow us to give it to allies too, like the kobold dragonshield-- maybe even throw in the tail weapon here too, since it really doesnt need to be its own thing. If we take the cantrip, give us a sorcery point or two and one metamagic option of our choice to go along with it. And add other options too, like wings and a flight speed for urds, or some sort of trapmaking for kobold inventors.
Anyway, that's my rant on kobolds. I'd love to see them updated, but it will not surprise me if I end up sticking to the Volo's variant.
Since druids are so attached to the fae, why not make a faerie dragon druid subclass? Still dragons but differently themed enough from draconic sorcerers I feel that it could work fairly well.
I got tired and made a dragon pact warlock
I just hope this book answers the age old question: *Do Dragonborn have tails?*
"Dragonborn look very much like dragons standing erect in humanoid form, though they lack wings or a tail" the first few sentences in the PHB about dragonborn literally answers this question. I'm so confused on how people keep getting hung up on whether they have tails or not, if you want to homebrew them to have tails go for it i'm all in but like please just read the PHB
Everyone's saying "Dragon Warlock" "Dragon Druid" but I'm thinking "Dragon Barbarian"
Dragon can basically be done as a beast totem variant.
@@bookworm3696 or maybe path of the beast from tashas with a slight reflavor
hope to see the Ring of Dragonshape in fizbans
but are there updates to draconic sorcerer at all? like- it's not hard to homebrew, but can there be gem sorcerers now? do we possibly get a couple extra spells to match that flavor?
I like everything they are doing. But i feel they could've gone for more subclasses. A draconic oath paladin, dragon pact for warlocks, and a path of the dragon for barbarians would've been fantastic too.
I wish we got a Dragoon Subclass for fighters officially xD or a Draco Knight type thing. But oh well, could reflavor the Rune Knight to be Dragon Stuff
It is dungens and dergons after all
yo dawg, I herd you like Dragons, so I put more Dragons in your D&D so you can adventure while you Dragon
What exactly would a Greatwyrm specific warlock actually give you that reflavoring and taking a feat doesn't? What would you gain out of it? Is just "because I want it?"
Edit: NxtGenDragon and Blackpeople Storytime both make excellent points! I just ask because I think hate trains form far too easily over ultimately insignificant things, and I think asking why can do a lot to quell those. That's all!
I can see it being another possible melee Warlock option probably in a tank type subclass. Harder scales that act as unarmored AC, claw attacks, breaths etc. Basically augmenting your body via your pact magic to sustain bigger hits etc
This book has talked about to things that could translate class abilities. A Dragon's presence can change environment around it, giving the warlock a aura ability in the same vain would work well. Great wyrms can create echoes on other planes to see through. Giving the warlock something like the scribes wizard manifest mind ability would recreate this for them maybe as a BA they can teleport and swap places with them
Should’ve made a draconic barbarian imo
Can't wait!
the thing is you needed to make them powerful, because the ranger and monk base class need subclasses to make up for what they lack. the dragon monk was underpowered, i really hope it got buffed....
I wish we could have gotten a dragon slyer knight subclass for the fighter
Way of the Ascendant Dragon + Dragonborn = Enter the Dragonborn
I think there's one severe problem with the UA system... it doesn't allow us to see how the feedback is changing the product into something people will like to see. It just kinda plops out and we have to pray that our favorite features are somewhat intact. Don't get me wrong, I do like UA a lot since it gives us a chance to playtest the stuff before it comes out, but if it's overwhelmingly liked why do (some of) the things tend to be nerfed so much? Additionally, some things might be broken even after the launch. Being a DM who homebrews a lot of stuff I know how hard balancing things are, so a little bit back and forth would be nice.
I think I know why UA tends to be very strong. No as many people would play something that might feel avarage or lackluster, so they beef it up in order to get a response. However, it still leaves a slight bad taste in my mouth when things that seemed exiting are lost to the void or reworked completely.
6:13 So people want to pay for a dragon option for every class? Just give them what they want then. I love the dragon feats, but I want an Ancient Dragon, or would it be Greatwyrm Warlock patron now. I don't want a reflavored, Genie, Archfey, or Undead patron, not that there's anything wrong with that. I just want the feature to be about the dragon patron. Another cool idea I heard, for example, was a Dragon Barbarian. How would that work? I have no idea past a breath weapon when raging, but I would buy the book that had that Path in it.
Pathfinder 2e managed a dragon instinct barbarian, so it's demonstrably doable.
Honestly the book would have been so much more amazing if each class got its own dragon subclass, and an update for Sorcerer's. I mean the book is still looking to be great, but it would have been so fitting for Dungeons and _Dragons_ to give each class a dragon option.
ascended dragon monk coming?
Soooo, can you ride the iron defender?
I just want them to bring back something like the Dragonfire Adept.
So is the drake mount controlled or independant and can you switch?
It has the standard "pet" mechanics that appear in Tasha's. Summon takes an action, but doesn't have a time limit, has the same initiative, only uses the dodge action on it's turn unless you use your bonus action to use one of it's abilities... standard stuff.
Go look up Nerd Immersion’s breakdown of it, we actually have the full class write up as a reward for solving puzzles from D&D Celebration last month
I just want a Hellfire sorcerer
Call Draconic Bloodline Infernal Bloodline. Change all draconic words to infernal. Done.
That'd be cool. Get some hellfire powers that ignore fire resistance. I'd love to see that.
@@ll2240 that's lazy.
No Barbarian subclass?
Play Path of the Beast and flavor everything "Dragon".
@@callmeb.o.b.824 and take a feat that’ll give you some spell that replicates breathe weapon
We knew this going into this book there’s never any hidden subclasses they all come directly from the UA we get. Keep up with UA and you’ll always know what’s going on with D&D.
