I learned this tune from playing bass with a local folk music group called the Rackensack Folklore Society because it is one of the favorite tunes of one of the fiddlers who plays music with this group of mixed up mixed nuts. I have been playing music with them for twenty-five years now and have enjoyed it. Have any of you listened to the version of Down Yonder which is on PlayerPianoGal's channel here on UA-cam? It is slightly different from some of the other versions of Down Yonder.
This tune came into my mind today. I couldn't remember the name, and I couldn't stop humming it. It took me about 30 minutes or so to come up with the name. Patti, I love the way you and Jeremy play this. It put a big smile on my face!
Just found your work from your 365 Days of Fiddle. I really enjoy your style. With a lifelong hearing impairment I enjoy music with clarity and authority. I think I've listened to about a month of these so far!
I'm learning fiddle, 64 is a bit young to start but I'm giving it a go. I now pook at how tight players bows are. I can't find the right spot. I notice that fiddle players tend to have looser hair than violin. Some fiddle players have the bowhair so loose I don't know how they play. Having said that, I would string my own hair in the bow if I could play like this. Thank you Patty.
OMG I loved IT! You "embroider" the subsequent verses, just like I enjoy doing---after the first 2 or 3 reps it gets boring. Great fiddling style Glad I found this--helps me master our latest program assignments

Love it. If I could play that well I'd never stop!
