Paying Our Rent to Earth | Kris Tompkins | Talks at Google

Kristine McDivitt Tompkins is an American conservationist and former CEO of Patagonia, Inc. Kris and her late husband Douglas Tompkins are considered the most ambitious and successful national park oriented philanthropists in history. Earlier this year, on behalf of her NGO, "Tompkins Conservation," Kris and Chilean President Michelle Bachelet joined forces to create five new national parks in Chile and expand three others, adding a total of more than 10 million acres of new national parklands to Chile. In this talk, Kris presents her work in conservation in the Southern cone, the motivations behind making the change from businesswoman to conservationist, and makes a call to action to participate in "Paying our rent to Earth".
