- Can a $130 budget bow really stack up to more expensive bows? We’re going to find out just how this one performs in the hand and you’ll get my honest opinion on it! www.sanlidaoutdoor.com/web/?i...
You've helped me out so much, sir. You've recommended strings for me and answered my questions a couple of times. I have watched a lot of videos of yours, and now I have bareshafted with field points and broadheads with nock tuning. Now I have a full hunting setup. Your help has been a blessing. Keep up the great work, sir, God bless.
I really appreciate that my friend! I’m glad you are ready to go now!👍🏻
Mine will be arriving on Tuesday, I'm very excited for it. I ordered a 35#. I just do target archery with my medieval recreation group.
Cool, thanks for the input and review. Was tempted to check them out, but I guess I gona need to wait for them to make LH versions 👍
I shoot a sanlida X10 compound bow and it's brilliant (for a quarter of the price of a hoyt, pse, etc) I'm not ready to upgrade my recurve yet but will be looking at sanlida when I do .
Sweet you made it! Thank you!
Well, I've switched over to shooting 3-Under and have been practicing about a week with it. After a shooting session, I walk away with a smile on my face. It's the closest thing to cheating as you can get and I feel sorta guilty. haha Thanks for all your help Jeff.
😁👍🏻
Thanks Jeff, real nice bow this X8. And I like the fact that you show a relative cheap bow that shoots as fine as any custom build bow. I am from the Netherlands and we have some fine bowyers overhere too. I don't know if you ever heard of a company called Fairbow? This guy is producing a lot of traditional bows, including the Bowman. This is a Hill style American longbow by the way.
Anyway, I really like your videos and you have absolutely helped improving my shot and mindset. So thank you for that and God bless you!
Yes funny you mention Fairbow because was talking about them other week, and everyone who had brought a bow from them said the quality was spot on 👍🏻
Do you shoot three under or split finger, looks like you are back and forth a lot?
I am curious, What are your thoughts on the Bear Montana longbow? It seems like in some ways this bow seems similar.
Have you shot there x8 recurve, and do you think it is worth buying
Hey Jeff, great video just curious I just bought the recurve X8, and when stringing it the brace height is less than 6 inches, what would you recommend for the brace height and what did you do yours at on the recurve?
7 1/2” is optimal for it👍🏻
I bought the X8 longbow but I'm having fits trying to shoot straight. It's my first longbow and it's my first time shooting a bow with a cut before center shelf. What do I need to do? The arrow points left! It's only 45# and I'm shooting easton xx75 lite 2016
I almost bought one, but got a 70” Galaxy Black Ridge longbow. I’d love for you to donate review in that. You have me wanting to reconsider the Sanlida longbow. My daughter has their Dragon X8 compound bow and it is a really nice bow for the money so I have no doubt that their longbow and recurve are equally nice.
Cool vid! Jeff You are great salesman! LOL! I own 3 of the BlackHunter bows and like them! That Royal x8 looks sweet!😁
I have the Eagle X9 recurve and been looking at getting the Royal X8 , live the old school archery . Thanks again for the honest review of this bow . I believe I will have one on the bow rack real soon . The deer and hogs better watch out next season ....
Amen! You’re going to love it 💯
Ok so I have one these the only thing I would change is a fatter grip. Don't know what buy.any ideas on that.
Question, I see on some of your bows it looks like you have a sta-jac arrow holder mounted on back of riser. What brand is it? Looks orange in color. Thank you! 1st Peter 5:4..
Jeff how high are you setting your nock on this positive tiller bow?
Jeff do you shoot any "horse bows"? If so any thumb draws?
Loving mine in #40lb drawweight.
I’m gonna practice with it and hunt with it come Fall season.
Just need a Walker Creek Trading quiver and its set.
Thanks for the review. For a 150.00 package you can’t go wrong.
Nice to see some of these cheaper bows getting good reviews. I got burned by an October Mountain Products Strata longbow that is 6-7 pounds below the weight it's supposed to be. I need a new longbow and I might give one of these a try.
Cool looking bow, kinda has the same look as the Bear Ausable
Brilliant, all my bows are recurve and been wanting to get a longbow and this for the price!!! Even i can afford. Cant wait to try it out when i order one. I guess its world wide shipping to. Very good review sir 👍🏻
Amazon sells them too for $129
@@josephwashington2823
That's cool but tbh had issues before buying bows off amazon. Would rather go to the actual company. But thanks for heads up on that, I'll have a look and see if they sell from that company and not another, because sometimes if you get from another company they could be clones
Yes sir they’ve got a distribution center In Tennessee so they arrive fast!
What did you set you brace height at?
Jeff, how is the hand shock on this bow?
I know a good string can make a difference
Actually the string that comes with it is the best one for it and it has very very little hand shock especially with a strap on quiver and it shoots very hard!
Is a longbow compared to a recurve feel the same as far as the same draw weight? I have been looking at a custom hill style bow and was wondering. Thjs
@@chickimac1 no sir in general a recurve has a more spongy feel than a longbow but a lot depends on the length of them 👍🏻
What’s the unstrung profile like and was the weight pretty close to what it says? Thanks
It has very little reflex, actually pretty straight unstrung and mine came in about two pounds heavy but it’s ultra smooth so it’s not really noticeable and the tiller was pretty much perfect for it so it shoots great 👍🏻
Thanks, Jeff.
I buyed the 40lbs version it's going to be my first bow
Damn fine lookin bow. But at 68" it is longer than I am tall. I'm just at 65" 😂😂😂😂
What arrow specifications do you recommend for 35 #? Are the arrows the same as the longbow?
I’m not sure exactly what spine they send in the package with a 35# but you’ll want either 600 or 700 spine depending on the draw length and point weight you’re going to have but I’d say 600’s should be the ticket for you 👍🏻
@instinctiveaddictionarcher8998 Thank You Kindly!
I absolutely love my bow for sure nice and smooth and quite and I also hunt with mine also
Is that a 45#? Looks like it says 35# on the bow. Not that it make any difference. Just ordered a 45# from amazon. Can't wait!
Is the shelf cut to center? Would you say this is like an ASL?
Yes sir
Have you considered getting the Sanlida 60" Hermit 10 Hunting Recurve Bow Kit?@@instinctiveaddictionarcher8998
The Indigo '60 & The Asp '62 Timber Creek merlinarchery
Im still waiting for some inventor to create a supersonic bow. That would be something.
I don't know if you watch a youtuber called Joerg sprave from Germany, he would no doubt be the first person to make one lol. His crossbows are something else. He does make bows but at moment he's concentrating on these amazingly powerful are rifles. I'll actually ask him how possible that would be with a bow lol.
I have some custom bows, Wapiti, Brackenbury, cari- bow, Harvey Archery, but I have also some cheap bows. They ar fun to shoot. They are a good option if some one cant or dont want to pay a lot of money for a bow. The value of a person IS NOT in the brand of the bow he shoots.
You’re exactly right my friend! I’ve got a brother in law that can buy any bow out there but he strictly shoots a Black Hunter longbow all tricked out and he’s deadly with it gap shooting!
I bought the bow and ordered the TTT archery string. I ordered it based on the model of bow and length assuming based on your review, it would come close to accurate when stringing up. Everything was off with the bow string as far as center serving, nock and brace height at 6". That's no fault to TTT . They have been great with communication but as a novice with flemish strings, I now have to figure how to adjust brace height and do messurements for custom string. TTT followed regulation dimesnions. I am having tons of issues try to adjust brace height to do necessary measurements. If i have to eat the $40, I will. Just a bit disappointing.
Hmm that’s unusual, mine was really close to 7 1/4” when I first strung it up and twisting the bottom section up will usually get your brace over 7” and the tied nocks are adjustable but they don’t usually come dead on and have to be moved somewhat but if they made the string a little long they should make you another one no problem they’re usually great about that.
Update. This bow that I received has a higher shelf than any they have made. They ave been very patient ns are aending me a custom string afterI completed the measurements requested. I look forward to receiving. Thank You @instinctiveaddictionarcher8998
Is the arrow shelf cut to center?
Still waiting on a reply too..good to know though
I'm getting one
Great move Jeff, put more short hunting filming in your videos, and at the beginning of the video like this one, is perfect!
Thanks brother!
Jeff, what is your draw length on the Sanlida longbow?
Mine is just over 27” at my full draw 👍🏻
@@instinctiveaddictionarcher8998 bet it's smooth pullin
@@alahorn8307 they are for sure but usually come in a little heavy so if you order one go lighter!
@@instinctiveaddictionarcher8998 Jeff, it would be interesting if you did a review on Top Archery's 64" takedown longbows, one with the slim riser.
Jeff, this is to you and every other UA-camr doing reviews on recurves and longbows and just absolutely licking up the boots of each manufacturer, whether it’s from friend or foe, stating how these bows can be shot blindfolded, and it’ll be so much fun. What you all are lacking one thing, complete frigging honesty. These bows are good,, no doubt, but they will not be fun or will the be able to be shot blindfolded, that is a fallacy that, I hope, newcomers to the sport are not taking to heart. It’s the archer, not the bow my friend.
The nika influencers are much worse really. I'm not buying into this shit a second time, sanlida is not a great company to deal with anyways. Have fun trying to get spare parts for anything from them and you'll know first hand 😅.
Ref: Jake Kaminski, boycottong Sanlida. What is your take on this?
I’m going to do a video very soon brother thanks!
three houses or three of these bows lol
FTS ! there's enough first class bowyers here ! You've sold out Sir . I'm certain Black Widow Bows , Acadian Woods Bows , Northern Mist Bows , Howard Hill Bows , Centaur Bows , Habu Bows and countless others appreciate your selling out too . Damn shame !
What’s the price difference?
Well while they ate appreciating it they can also appreciate the fact that MANY people can't afford their lowest price bows but can afford these and actually join the archery community. By your logic, if you don't buy from the companies that you listed, then you shouldn't get into archery. Moron
Sir people that want a custom bow will order a custom bow and pay the price for it gladly when they’ve come to that point in their traditional journey but the mass of people simply are not at that level and are buying cheaper bows everyday, I’m just trying to help them get setup and shooting something they’re going to enjoy for very little money.
I'm not a first-class bowyer. I'm a beginner. So I guess there's all types of people here viewing Jeff's content. Shame on you for calling this man a sell-out when he simply gave his honest opinion on a cheap bow. You, sir, need Jesus in your heart. John 3:16
@@instinctiveaddictionarcher8998Jeff thank you for this review I really appreciate it. Thank you for giving entry level archers some economical options to get started in traditional archery game. May the Lord’s Blessings be with you.
Do you shoot three under or split finger, looks like you are back and forth a lot?
Do you shoot three under or split finger, looks like you are back and forth a lot?
I’ve noticed that too. Depends on the day lol
He mentioned in one of his other videos that he used to shoot 3 under, then switched to split, then switched back to 3 under. Looks like he's mastered both ways
I can only shoot 3 under
