  • The Galand is an unusual revolver in its own right, but the 1868 Sportsman takes it to a whole different level. Available October 29-30, check out Milestone Auctions for more info.

What a bizarre yet interesting design. Thanks for taking the time to share this with your audience.

The Good The Bad And The Ugly.
That's the pistol Tuco first plays with when he walks into the store after walking out of the desert that Blondie deserted him in, then he assembles the pistol out of pieces from different one's he tears down.
    "Catridges".

Yep, that's a Galand - just not the Sportsman model. Great movie and great scene!

Funny thing, I just looked this pistol up today to show my aunt’s fiancé who loves old Russian revolvers and I came across this video. Never knew this version existed before then.
Ps: You look like Ian McCollum from an alternate timeline lol, even the way you opened the video xD

Glad you found the video. And yeah, I've been told that about me and Ian before.

The way I shoot a pistol that's exactly what I need, a shoulder stock.
I'm so bad with a pistol not only would I be better off throwing one at someone I'd drop the mag first so I'd have something else to throw at them, I wouldn't even bother shooting first for fear I'd just be giving away my position, and I'd want the mag to weigh as much as possible for when I throw it.

I definitely laughed harder at this than I should have when envisioning it playing out in my head!

      Worst thing is it's true.
The first time they gave me a sidearm in the Army to guard payroll overseas I went back to the arms room 10 minutes later and told our unit armorer "You better give me a shotgun, that way there's less chance of me hitting a civilian in the background and starting an international incident".

I dont see how someone can talk about this gun without mentioning The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly movie, speaking of which there are lot of revolver irregularities in that movie........ But even though this revolver came out in the 1860s, to me it's very interest design but very ugly design, no wonder Tuco snarled at it. i dont get why no one on YT has one to shoot, I'd like to know how many rounds can be shot before or if black powder would make that mechanism stop working, and how the empty shells come out, I dont think they all fall out like everyone says......

Galand cartridges are rare. There probably aren't enough left in existence to shoot the gun enough until the mechanism fails. Even if you could find a sizeable stash of them, it would be prohibitively expensive to do that kind of shooting test.
