but how long do the battery's last? 6 months? 1 year? or just till it is raining hard and your getting soaked?
i would like to find a product that bars the doors from the inside. with NO part of the lock outside the door. and powered by the house battery's.
layers like a onion is the best way to help keep the crooks out. more layers better security.
True, these locks are only one level of security. If you bar the door then you are either already inside the RV or you have a remote lock that you hope does not fail or it will lock you out too. You could install a latch on the inside, but I am not sure how strong that would be. I personally protect my RV entry with 9mm, .45 or 12 gauge based on what room I am in at the time.
How much are the locks? It is unavailable on Amazon
They were about $150, but I was told they are coming out with an upgraded lock so that may be coming to Amazon soon.
Does your handrail clear the door lock when the handle is folded?
Not if I fold it over the door. We usually fold it toward the back though.
