The fact that he has all the fakes and the sway which is basically a built in shimmy is pretty strong plus he’s got the high low mixup with his soba kicks. the guy wasn´t good but by coincidence or not he did the right strat against grapplers like gief, you don´t expose yourself and make him come to you, let him make the mistake, the only thing he could do better was to use more fireballs to make gief´s approach even harder.

This is not a fighting game. This is a video game. Remember that. Charlie, you need to stop reacting to everything that's happening in the fight. I understand you're a streamer and you have to talk on your stream. But you need to focus. It doesn't matter if they walk away from you, or they land hits or combos, or your blocks don't work, or you miss grabs. You have to take a step back from the game and accept whatever happens and play your best. They're not always gonna jump when they're in the corner of the map. Most of the time, you CANNOT "read their moves". If you're getting a read of their moves, you're already kicking their ass and it doesn't matter. Focus on getting better and not observing all these small things you report on. Also Zangeif is just not a very good character. There's nothing wrong with playing meta, just because some people get the idea to talk shit on the character you pick. I like Zangeif, but that doesn't change the fact he is big and slow and easy to fuck up, relatively. A master Zangeif player is a challenge, but lower than that, Zangeif really doesn't do you a lot of favors. The higher damage of some of his moves is eclipsed by the fact that he's slow and big and has shitty combat. Zangeif is like Bowser from Super Smash Bros. and Ken is like Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. Play your best and stop whining, complaining, and giving up please. Take your lumps, take it on the other cheek, and play your best. You're both playing a video game, sometimes the things you think you understand are actually not true.
Stop being an asshole, gatekeeping fighting games and discouraging new people to try them is only making the community even smaller. Modern is easier but its a valid way to play the game and a very good tool for new people to learn

A lot of people abandon fighters because learning combos and moves takes more than 30 minutes to master. That's why MK has more appeal to casual gamers besides the fatalities.
If you want this community to survive stop being a gatekeeping asshole, I dont care if modern is a slightly easier way to play the game, it still requires thinking and skill to win matches, especially with much more limited options and damage.
