It was launched in Malaysia at RM2000 for the 8GB/128GB version and RM2200 for the 12GB/256GB version. The prices will go up to RM2300 and RM2500 after the launch promotion is over. Quite a steep step up in price compared to last year's F3 which was launched around RM1500 or RM1600?
To me, Gaming at 5G makes the phone hot I tend to put it at 4G when gaming outdoors and in a Medium setting, and WiFi most of the time indoors at High settings
Very good review. Would love to see results of 1 hour gaming on a less demanding game like cod mobile. Really thought about buying this but the overheating really scares me. Did they fix it? Also what about ROG 6 review or top gaming phone 2022 comparison?
the best gaming phone in the market is the RoG 6 or 6 pro without a shadow of a doubt, even comes with a larger battery and an external cooler u can attach on the phone.

What would make me want this phone right now is if Xiaomi implements bypass charging to their gaming phones, like this one. Both of their most recent gaming phones have 120W charging, an odd choice since most of those people would prefer durable and longer lasting batteries. Implementing bypass charging is a big game changer for this, which I think could be possible like how RoG phones do that with even 67W chargers.
@@AsherTechthat's nice, but some phones like iphones exceed that industry standard. They want people to keep their phones as long as possible, they even give 5 years of software support. This is coming from me, a big advocate of Xiaomi. Not saying they're bad, but I'm starting to see the benefits of other phone companies
5:46 There is a new launcher update coming that should, hopefully, bring the same gesture navigation animations as found on Mi and Redmi phones. I found the Poco Launcher's gesture navigation to be quite stuttery, while the MIUI Launcher, installed on the same phone through root, works flawlessly and is one of the smoothest launchers on any phone I've tried.
Poco launcher has been like that since gestures came in. On the other hand Xiaomi launcher is smooth and now has app drawer too so they should just use that
With the last update it's fixed things a lot for Poco launcher. Not perfect but fluidity is up there. For now at least. You know how Xiaomi are. Put one thing in, next update take it away 😂
Doesn't seem like much of an upgrade from the F3 GT aside from the chipset. If it's true that it uses the same triggers as the F3 GT which i've heard a couple of complaints about, that might also be an issue. Hopefully the F4 standard with dimensity 9000 (redmi k50) would provide better value.
Paid 200 pound for my Poco f3 8/256 varient on mi UK store with a Snapdragon 870 and this is 500 pound on pre order with lesser battery life and a CPU made on Samsung process which sucks carrots.
Still sticking with my Poco F2 Pro. Kinda disappointed with Xiaomi's latest phones offering. Also given the rumor that Xiaomi's smartphones powered by SD865 such as Mi 10 series + Poco F2 Pro might not be getting Android 13 with MIUI 13.5 after all may pissed off those users.
Same feelings here. I also like my F2 Pro, although I still like my F1 with the very fast face unlock or even ... drumroll... my Redmi note 5 pro which actually still works perfectly. Both the F1 and Redmi Note 5 Pro still take really nice pictures with Gcam. Seems no more progress or even going backwards in the last Xiaomi series.
I wonder where it will be 499 euro with snapdragon 8 1gen cpu and adreno 730 just like high end camera!! basically it have specs same or higher then some triple more expensive phones
If they fix overheat which they can't do with software updates because it's hardware - cooling problem then yea. Choosing to throttle it to not overheat will probably bring it to about the same performance as 865 / 870, so you pay money for nothing.
hello , i would like to know that , does it turn off the screen display when we listen to voice on telegram or messenger like the poco f3 or redmi note 10 pro because of their pure or bad sensor . thank your reply.
Much like One Plus with the 7 Pro, Poco's peak was the F2 Pro, a fabulous smartphone with a premium build. There I am on a Poco F3, but without lying I regret my F2 Pro 😥. The F2 Pro had nothing to envy a 13 Pro Max or S22 Ultra in terms of build quality and premium feel. It just lacked a 120 Hertz screen and optical stabilization on its main sensor. The Poco F3 should have been a K40 zoom with at least 90 Hertz.
I have the Poco F3 overall I still think it’s great. But yes the Poco F2 Pro is the stand out phone I still have my K30 Pro Zoom (basically a F2 Pro) love the screen even if it’s 60hz it’s got no notch and the main camera is still great. The 3.5mm jack is the main reason I still keep it around and use it.
hello from Italy Milan, I'm great fan of your channel, ok I think we are talking and don't forget of a gaming phone so photo and video quality very good and in general quality price I think a Best Buy...only thing is the thermal problem.... for example if you think about Oppo x50 pro front camera il 1080 unbelievable.
You have the best reviews so far for poco f4 GT since launch 👍 1 more hour for me to decide and I will decide on NO Go for sure due to the overheated issue 😅
This phone had me excited til I saw Genshin Impact overheat and throw it out of the game. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is what drags this phone down. Everything else is solid. Should have gone MediaTek I reckon.
Solid for the price for sure. But if this had the Dimensity 9000 it would have been better. I was shocked to have my gaming session cut short with that overheating message, did Xiaomi not even test it with games on top visual settings? But I know they will fix it like the global Xiaomi 12 Pro by throttling the crap out of it to lower thermals.
@Verner Lindemann there is a little noise but not to the point that it would annoy you. at the end of the day you buy these types of devices to have a quality gaming experience smooth and stable fps.
I'm on the market for phones yet again c': I'm thinking either this Poco F4 GT or the older Mi 11T Pro. I'm wondering which of the two would be the better choice. I play a lot of Call Of Duty Mobile, though i kinda don't need the triggers lol
As a person who plays themselves I'll tell you to get the f4 gt. The triggers help a shit ton on codm. I personally use them out of games too. I do 3 finger gameplay but the triggers help be able to be more mobile and accurate, honestly it gives a huge advantage. FPS wise and graphic quality the f4 gt is miles better than the 11t. If you aren't gaming much the 11t is fantastic, but I'd rather get the Poco X3 nfc or pro (used to own the nfc) as it's faster and cheaper.
@@PapaMori Faster? SD 732G/860 is faster than the SD 888? I never got to buy a phone lol, but yeah. I am perfectly comfortable with playing codm with just the screen, but I would try if I ever get the F4GT.
@@WhatsThisOwO It's probably to do with thermal throttling. The 11t pro got hot rather quickly while the x3nfc didn't. The only thing I missed in that phone is 5g tbh
Please review the redmi k50 standard edition with Dimensity 8100 chipset. I’ve heard that it gives a very stable performance when gaming. Would be great to hear your opinions.
Gaming, to me, is lacking without that 3.5mm jack. Many would argue that there are good BT/TWS options out there, yet still, non come close to wired ones.
@@YNCM1 I would dare to say that it is for the spec. I mean, it's not only having X or Y Soc, it's the ability to use it, and they simply didn't implement good cooling for it. It has been shown before that in benchmarks the X1 chip beats all others, but in any sustained gaming load the 870 is way better and doesn't overheat. So yeah, they cheaped out on it and now owners of this phone are stuck with a chip that works like an overclocked 865. I wouldn't really pay 500 Euro for a SD865. Also, the took out the 3.5mm jack and cheaped out in the camera area.
Is there gonna be a non GT F4? I don't need all this gaming stuff inflating the price, just an affordable phone with good specs like the first 3 poco F series phones.

I was really looking into buying a K40 gaming edition but noticed that a few reviewers couldn't even complete benchmark tests, I'm guessing due to heat. That was with a Dimensity 1200 chipset, which doesn't really run hot. I think that they have taken the same vapor cooling chamber design for this new Gen 1 chip in the POCO F4 GT. That obviously isn't going to work out. I did eventually find a reviewer that stuck a cooling fan attachment onto the K40 gaming edition and retested it. Genshin Impact went up by 10 frames per second. Chris, if you have a cooler cold you retest this phones gaming performance. That is a video I think a lot of viewers would be interested to see. With the improved AetherSx2 Playstation 2 emulator and Skyline emulator apps, you could walk around with a PS2 and Switch combo in your pocket with the power of a Gen 1 chipset. It does need to be cooled proper though. Thanks for the review.
I did a small test now with a PC case fan 140mm and it only too about 5 minutes to see the FPS go from mid 40s in Genshin to lower 50fps. It really does help so I think it needs a little fan in it like the Redmagic series.
@@Techtablets Thanks for trying that. I think the Black Shark Magnetic cooler should be an instabuy for anyone considering this phone. The black variant with the black or cyber yellow GT would look badass. Slide it down slighty and it also acts as a movie stand.
Great video Chris! Really annoyed with the fact that the audio bit rate is so low. Will you be reviewing the Redmi K50 Pro? Would love to see how the K50 Pro stacks up with the F4 GT.
No plans to buy the K50 Pro sorry. yes the audio thing has me really annoyed as they have gone backwards for a while their the MIUI team used 320kbps on flagships but are back to using 96 kbps.

Muy bien. Muchos años llevo aquí en España
Newer Generation CPU cost most

My pleasure!
can you do the comparisons between xiaomi 11t pro vs poco f4 gt?
To me, Gaming at 5G makes the phone hot I tend to put it at 4G when gaming outdoors and in a Medium setting, and WiFi most of the time indoors at High settings
Thanks for the tip! Cos I've just bought one! I'm sure an update or two later and Xiaomi will iron out any issues mentioned in this review too.
Hey! Have you done a review on the Huawei MateView (28')?
No I haven't but this is the same screen it uses. Stunning panel. The mate view has no touch, but it would be a great monitor.
@@Techtablets I think you thought my comment was under another video. Which screen are you referring to? :D
Nice review Chris!
Thanks!
@@hmeidaOriginal What about the price, everybody knew that Asus products are way overpriced
However, My Poco F4 GT run really Cool in Gaming and it beat My Samsung S22 Ultra in every way and cost far less
This is a realistic review!
I wanted to buy this phone. But after watching this review I changed my mind. Great review.
Poco F4 will have SD 870, the last Qualcomm processor made by TSMC. I don't like overheating issues in phones of more USD 500
Hopefully!
Sd870 is the peak of performance with stability
What would make me want this phone right now is if Xiaomi implements bypass charging to their gaming phones, like this one. Both of their most recent gaming phones have 120W charging, an odd choice since most of those people would prefer durable and longer lasting batteries. Implementing bypass charging is a big game changer for this, which I think could be possible like how RoG phones do that with even 67W chargers.
Exactly my thoughts
Xiaomi has said that 800 charges before the battery degrades so about 2 years of a charge a day
@@AsherTechthat's nice, but some phones like iphones exceed that industry standard. They want people to keep their phones as long as possible, they even give 5 years of software support. This is coming from me, a big advocate of Xiaomi. Not saying they're bad, but I'm starting to see the benefits of other phone companies
@@WhatsThisOwO Even iphones degrade battery life after 2 years. It's just the pain of lithium ion batteries
Hopefully!
Put one thing in, next update take it away 😂
thanks for the review video
No problem!
If you live in a frozen land (aka Canada), this phone is perfect....
Should i upgrade my poco f3 for this?
I mentioned that at the end, honestly I don't think it's worth it unless you need the gaming performance, faster charging or those triggers.
Year on year upgrades are seldom ever worth it with phones.
If they fix overheat which they can't do with software updates because it's hardware - cooling problem then yea.
Choosing to throttle it to not overheat will probably bring it to about the same performance as 865 / 870, so you pay money for nothing.
Nope
hello , i would like to know that , does it turn off the screen display when we listen to voice on telegram or messenger like the poco f3 or redmi note 10 pro because of their pure or bad sensor . thank your reply.
Insane !
At least this guy tells us the audio bitrate which matters
96kbps
hello from Italy Milan, I'm great fan of your channel, ok I think we are talking and don't forget of a gaming phone so photo and video quality very good and in general quality price I think a Best Buy...only thing is the thermal problem.... for example if you think about Oppo x50 pro front camera il 1080 unbelievable.
Best review 👌
@@Techtablets sounds likely 🤦. And what does it drop to, sd870 levels 😂
@@Techtablets mine didn't have overheating with genshin on a 30 min session at full settings
redmagic still the best device for optimizing sd 8 gen 1 peformance
It is. The only phone I've seen hold 60fps or close to it with Genshin Impact and not throttle. That fan is really needed with these hot new chipsets.
@@WhatsThisOwO in a weird way it is. At least from my own experience.
@@PapaMori Maybe the settings are not the same? and/or the thermal throttling gives it a deep dive at prolonged sessions
@@WhatsThisOwO It's probably to do with thermal throttling. The 11t pro got hot rather quickly while the x3nfc didn't. The only thing I missed in that phone is 5g tbh
120w only works on 220-240v AC socket, if its plugged at 100-120v AC its capped at 96W
I’m plugged into 230v pal Eu here so 120W but a little less then their claims
@@Techtablets did you enable charging boost in the settings
Poco f4 gt vs xiaomi 12 pro?
Please review the redmi k50 standard edition with Dimensity 8100 chipset. I’ve heard that it gives a very stable performance when gaming. Would be great to hear your opinions.
excited
Gaming, to me, is lacking without that 3.5mm jack. Many would argue that there are good BT/TWS options out there, yet still, non come close to wired ones.
Can't be wired zero lag headhpones. Gaming with BT TWs earbuds is better but still not perfect
Where can us folks in the USA pick this up?
500 euros is a steep ask.
For the spec no, but for the brand yes.
@@YNCM1 gulp 😶
That main camera is really nice. With my f3 came with one of those.
Sony's IMX686 is a good camera even without OIS here. Still valid in 2022 this sensor.
POCO F3 STILL BEST

There's a redmagic 6R with he same price can you do a comparison of that vs this f4

F3 is better obviously. F4 GT not worth the upgrades it has over f3, when there are downgrades and a much higher price tag than F3.

I hope so too. They do watch my reviews and hopefully see that launcher bug. But also the overheating error booting me out of demanding games.
Miui soft ware sucks. Hardware wise, they are unmatched but nah. Their software stresses me so much. After using Xiaomi phones for years, I started using samsung and boom,. one ui is perfect
@@nilskiemle9556 to be honest miui is good on redmi and Xiaomi device, for poco it's totally a different story software is totally a miss specially this poco launcher which is fully bugged
Apparently Color/Realmi UI also quite decent.
I saw quite a few UI bugs and animation lag some of which I caught on film in this review.

Exactly, gaming phone without a headphone jack?
Gaming phones in my book need a headphone Jack like the Redmagic 7
What about proximity sensor?
My Poco F2 Pro is 2 generations old and still in many ways better than this Poco F4 GT. Xiaomi really needs to step up their game.
Does it have proximity sensor?
That sensor is dead on almost all phones. Sadly.
