- This video was restored using Topaz Video AI. The conservationist known as Grey Owl was born Archibald Belaney in Hastings, England. As a young man, he migrated to Canada and adopted the ways of the First Nations people. He spoke out early and strongly about preserving nature and the environment. His insight is informing the modern movement of rewilding and using nature-based solutions to prevent flooding. He hid his non-native background and it wasn’t until later in his life that the public learned the truth. His reputation and credibility were damaged, but his message persevered and he is hailed today as a man ahead of his time. In 1999, Sir Richard Attenborough directed the film “Grey Owl,” starring Pierce Brosnan. A Canadian cameo 1936 production produced by special arrangement with the national parks of Canada.
I love it, thanks so much for making it possible to see it.
Managed to get a copy of his book from a mutual friends library. Admittedly not read it yet but I imagine it to be fantastic
Love it!
The title of the upload is incorrect. It should say "...Strange Guests" not "quest".
I thought I must be mistaking the "G" in guest for the "Q" in Quest. Either way, this is a good watch.
Hi, Peter Smith!
Please correct the typo in your title to this video.
It should read: "AI restored, Grey Owl's strange GUEST 1936 documentary"
instead of the word "quest".
THANK YOU
Maybe he was on a "quest" to restore the beaver population.
