Can all the 70s and 80s kids born Nigerian please gather here? Time to unlock memories😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
Right here
We dey. 😅😂
I'm here
present sir🤣
80s.
Reminds me of my happy Childhood days in Lagos. Usually watch this on NTA2 channel 5 on Saturday mornings.
I remember 2
yeah. NTA played the hell out of this vid in the 80's. Lol
Good old days
God bless you
Good times right?
Most of us leaving comments here were growing in those year's either in primary school or secondary then. I was in secondary school then. Most of us thought he was a Nigerian. Now in my early for fifties, this afternoon, few minutes ago, this song just came suddenly to my mind and I thought to check it out. I felt like crying rememberiing those years. Feelings of nostalgia. Wherever we are in our generation all over the world, we had the best of good music , gospel, disco, reggae, ragamuffin. Yoruba, Igbo, Edo, whatever form. All the musicians of our time did a good job. Kudos to all.of them for giving us good times in our early years. We really enjoyed
If only I had a big wedding. Would have had this song play at my wedding. We had it all in the 80s. I'm 37 now.
I am not surprised that most of the comments here are from those of us who rocked Lagos Nigeria back then in the day - We all thought he was Nigerian too living in Yankee, we watched it on every musical video show on all TV stations in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole, Kai, Memories oo,, Breakfast parties, Luncheon Parties, Nite Clubs, Faze2, Lords, Nightshift, Paradiso, Peak, Remys Aguda, - Oh My Days, We Rocked sha!!!!!
My Little Sister (May Her Soul Rest In Peace) loved this song so much. Listening to it now just brings tears to my eyes. She was only 3 when she died. I Love this song.
sorry your loss...
Bless your sister. Far too young.
Condolences
Sorry to hear that.
Sorry about your loss. May her soul rest in peace
How I wish there will be a gathering for Belinda music lovers where only this song will constantly played and danced. Am in Lagos. This song makes me so so so...,. HAPPY
I'm in Manila, but grew up in Lagos, I searched for this song the past two years, so happy now.
We are here ooo
Same here. I'm in Lagos too.
Thank you so much UA-cam for bringing back all the good memories❤❤❤❤❤
I am 42 years old now and the babies of my family my brother's and sisters listen to this song in the 80's Thank you God for keeping me alive.
This song singlehandedly added the name "Belinda" to the consciousness of every West African. Today, if you hear "Belinda, you give me ginger" on a Nigerian song, you can thank this song!
Exactly 😅😅😅
Absolutely
Remedies even has a track titled Belinda that lifted the melody from this original.
Bro wetin? You don sell us finish. 😂😂😂😂😂
@@borngreat-4-life930 Na true, boss. Abi I lie?

I just finally met this guy! In Vegas! He still looks the same!

But men Belinda harsh oooo..... it means not all relationships leads to marriage
Still dont know if he is saying roger Miller
Never trust a woman with a big broad smile

It was only recently I found out why she turned him down
Heard it at a party yesterday...after 35 yrs of singing it and wondering. I was the only one who danced to the tune at the party. Other people simply didn't even know this jam! (FSAS) Federal School of Arts & Science, V.I. on my mind.

Woke up this morning with the thoughts of this song and decided to check it on UA-cam , and here it . The song reminds me of teen years , wonder what happened to Grady Harell , he just didn't blow like we say in Naija .... Lovely song.
Good old days in Nigeria.
I just love the song, the guy, everything...brings back fond memories of when were still "tadpoles", living with our parents...such great times.

Same here. Not kidding. My parents gave us the best life. These are sweet, endless memories.
I did too.
This takes me way back to Jos. The good old days. It hurts to reminisce.
I'll never forget this song,80s
A very nostalgic and sweet memory of growing up as a child back in the late '80s. The lyrics and pictures were 'clean'..
God knows this brought nostalgic tears to my eyes. Sweet good old days.
Same here
I will never forget this old good music. I always have a nostalgia each time I listen to it .
Wow I loved this song so much back then . I even thought he was Michael Jackson then because breakdance was popular in the 80s and I loved breakdance a lot. I am 43 now , how time flies
I don't know who took this song to media houses in Nigeria. It became household song in Nigeria early in 90s. I am not surprised most of the people commenting here are Nigerians.
I CAN NEVER GET TIRED OF THIS SONG, I LOVED IT AND STILL DO TILL NOW. AWESOME SONG
Feeling highly nostalgic about this 80s amazing song. Kept playing over and over. Can't get enough of it!!!
What a lovely song, this reminded me of life in Lagos in the eighties. Wow so nostalgic.
I could remember when i was in primary 1 in Obalande police barrack in Lagos. A memory of good old days.
Classic throwback indeed! Reminds me of primary school days in the 80s. Good times.

I remember this beautiful song way back in Lagos 😍
I recall watching it way back in Zaria while I was little with my cousin
I love this song and remember being sad when I watched it as a kid because he was left heart-broken at the end of the song... :(
What happened at the end? Did she just dis, dude or is she saying she is not pressuring him for marriage and are we watching flashbacks after that or the continuation of their non marital bliss? Lol
Well well, you have sure put a different spin on it; lol
@@LBurner1 flash back
You understood the video? I didn't 😂
I come back to this song once in a while, just to relive those happy days, a complete family, unruined life, just happy times, great old days.
Unruined life my brother!!!! You can say that again.
I often do this too
2023 and this song brings pleasant memories!!!!!
Until now I had always thought this was a Nigerian song by a Nigerian musician.
Some party ain't complete without this song in Lagos back in the days
Nor be lie!
😢😢 My childhood in Nigeria 80s baby. Usually plays immedately after G🎉irls wanna have fun by Lauper.
Nostalgique Année 80, cette chanson, quand j'étais petit 1984 = 7ans 😅, pour la 1ère fois, que je l'ai écoutée. Je n'oublierai jamais 👍🏿. Merci Beaucoup
Listening to this music in early 80sturn me on till today

Oh my! My siblings and I used to love this song as kids...of course, we still do!
Everyone thought he was Nigerian back in the days
I don't know why he was thought of as Nigerian.
@@benjaminigbi6570 Because no one knew his name at the time.
Please where is he from?
@@onyiichristy2549 Awka in Anambra.
@@onyiichristy2549 I believe he’s American
I overheard someone playing this song a few moments ago and it brought back memories of watching this music video on NTA Bauchi TV back in the 80s. Had to search a while to find this. Apparently there’s a popular South American star called Belinda. Even as a child I was heartbroken that after impacting his life so much, she turned down his proposal at the end. Awesome video clip.
Took me time to find this song,I love the song so much reminded me of my childhood back then at enugu.
I also thought it a nigeria, I can listing to this song million times
I missed the spelling until I got it on the internet. It reminds me of when I didn’t have to worry about my welfare. The beat is still dope till now 2020. Thanks for sharing your gift with the world Mr Grady
I never took note of the artiste name during my childhood days except for the title 'Belinda' until now that I long refresh myself with the song. It was exciting then to watch and sing along.
and I love the African dancers... they added a lovely touch to the video.
This song is incredible !!!! One of the best that I ever heard in my life !!! Was So longing to find it ! Woooow !!!
I remember when I was a little child with my brothers and sisters, we watched the tv and waited for this song each and everyday cause at this time, there were a chanel in Cote d'Ivoire (my country) called "RTI chaine 2" that played videos of songs at the same hour. That was the time of innocence. What a nostalgic feelings I have in me listening to this magic !!!!
thumbs up if u still like this song in 2013
Still like it and this is 2021 ✌🏽
I still love more, this is 2024 1st june and it is still fresh.
He can sing, the problem is he sounded and danced like MJ, who was on FIRE at the time. That's why he wasn't successful as he could have been. So whoever even sounded remotely close to MJ at the time was automatically blown off, MJ was too strong of a force.
+Sheree Hayes You're right.
Sheree Hayes yep
I always thought he sounded more like Sam Cooke.
Right.
Tf is wrong with y’all!!! He is clearly ripping off Michael Jackson. The dancing, the singing , even the dancing on the boat was a ripoff from Thriller!!!!
I've been humming this tune to myself recently, then I thought; hang on! Even though I don't remember the artist's name, I should be able to locate it on You Tube. And now I'm here commenting 😊.
I must say that watching it now many years later does bring back memories but at the same time it's also a bit cringeworthy and I'm surprised that it amused me back then.
OK Grady this is the first time I'm seeing this. So cool with that African touch.
Gather here if back in the day you thought he was saying "mirinda eh oh mirinda"🤣🤣🤣
I was a victim😀😀😀
Where is the queue? 😂
I missed those days, my childhood 😭😭😭. When our parents left for work my sister and I would play our dad’s records and party with these songs.😂😂
The song of my childhood. Played in birthdays everywhere.
Rest In Peace Mom ❤❤ I love you forever
Years have gone by. One of my favourite as a Kid. Lovely.
I'm so excited. First time I've seen the video since 1985!!!
Wow! This brings back pleasant memories from my childhood
Who's listening to this in 2020???? I was sooooo happy to finally find this song!!
Grady is such a wonderful talented and beautiful person. Truly a gracious nice man. Singing and dancing seems so effortless for him. A hard working artist who never slacked when working. Always gives 100 % and then some. Thank you Mr Grady Harrell for sharing your gifts as an artist.✊🏿💖✨🌞👑🙏🏿✨
I finally found this song, haven't heard this since the 80s
Slightly worried this just entered my head in October 2023
Mehn, I'm old o! I'm 41 years now. This song was my favorite when I was like 4-5 years, they used to play it on NTA, at that time the only TV station you would find on the TV starting from 4pm to 12pm. Na wao!
Oh wow! I found this song at last in 2022. This song is my childhood, my childhood is this song. Oh sweet sweet nostalgia. Feel like crying...😢

This track,is my favourite,it reminds me of my childhood.Keep it up Grady.
BELINDA EH! BELINDA! OH BELINDA!
This dope was released four years before I was born but it's still classic gold to me (compared to the porn-infested junk that I have to put up with nowadays).
Person don old oh😍😍😍
Loved this song as a kid.
Yeah! we all did. #nostalgia #throwback
Wonderful music wonderful 80's
Wow!!! Reminds me of childhood days
OMG. I was in my early teens when I first hear this song and thought (still think is) it was the best. Thanks for posting this video.
Remind me of my child hood days 🥰😅😅 me and my sibling , my cousins , and Daddy will be like" bring the volume down and stop the noise
There's alot to like about this video: the drama, choreography, the wacko-jacko vibe-ness, the final betrayal etc
Belinda eeeeh Belinda !Hello my childhood!
We need to have a gathering for Belinda lovers here in Lagos. Anyone knows Wajo by Nel Oliver too?
These two were my favorite songs back in the day. Loved Belinda as much as I loved Wajo. Can't pick between the two. There's no day I search for Belinda I don't equally search for Wajo.
Omgosh i have been looking for this for years!!!
Reminds me of my beautiful childhood days in Enugu. It was always fun watching it on NTA Channel 8.
Yes o Enugu
