Totally agree, he has hardly had any mins, yet when selected he puts in a performance like that, and his virtuality were he can play anywhere across the back line is vital and has been vital for us.
Guardiola has a history of punishing players who let him down in some way (see Cancello, Palmer & Alvarez) so to see Gvardiol and Ederson on the bench was no surprise but it was probably a mistake. When players screw up like that the most important thing is for them to be given the chance to put things right. All Liverpool need now (apart from injuries not being a problem) is for Chiesa to be fit, to give Salah the odd break, and for Jota to return in the form he started the season in.
1:42 This fixture last season in the second half I think Liverpool dominated city at least as much as they did this game. De bruyne got hooked because he was pocketed by endo
Been following you guys from launch. Great content! If I can suggest one thing, it'd be great if Alan and Micah can get better gears. The difference in voice quality is very obvious between Gary and Alan especially. Thanks!
It’s cos they have both gone mobile. Micah is in the back of a car and Alan is in a back room at MOTD. When they’re at their respective homes with everything set up properly, sound proofing etc etc, it’s fine.
It’s nice to see. To touch on Gary’s point, yes it does get boring and it’s nice to see, that’s why the premier league is the best league in the world.

The point is still the same, but I've seen a couple people in the media mentioning Gvardiol being £60m, but all the reports at the time was that it was closer to £80m. He's still a top player and has been clutch too, but it's hard to imagine any other club leaving the second most expensive defender of all time on the bench.
In a normal season i would say they are still in it, city can easy go on a 20 game winning streak. What makes this season different is not only Liverpool but Arsenal and Chelsea are both playing brilliantly. If it was just a 2 horse race City could have a chance but to be relying on 3 strong teams all imploding i cant see it happening. The title is now between 3 teams for me but more likely Liverpool or Arsenal
It was very disappointing, this weekend, to see that the Premier League were supporting Stonewall's Rainbow Laces campaign. Even more disappointing is that you lads don't have the insight or the bottle to point out that this is doubling down on the FA's insistence on the right of men to play in women's football.
I'm a Liverpool fan, but Kyle Walker's defending for the first goal was inexcusable. He was ball watching and had absolutely no awareness of runners around/behind him. That's not because of a lack of pace that's just pure laziness
The thing about Liverpool is that they weren't playing that well up until recently and were still winning, even though everybody else was saying that they hadn't played anyone. But if the games against Real and City are anything to go by I'd still fancy them to really challenge Arsenal and Chelsea in the league if they were the team 9 points behind. In regards to Slot I think he would have been allowed to buy 2 or 3 big names in the summer had he wanted. But I think that would have been a sign of a Manager with a big ego and the fact that he stuck with Klopp's team showed that he doesn't. Things are looking mighty good atm for us Red's fans but we're a cautious bunch who won't celebrate anything until it's actually won. But you couldn't help but be optimistic in the positions we're in, in the premier-league and champions league. I'm just gonna try and enjoy it and using the old cliché, take each game at a time.
I could never imagine Kieran McKenna or other younger managers talking the way Pep does. There certainly feels like there is a lack of leadership in that he talked about how they are in a run of poor form somehow manifesting it. The modern way to look at things is to say something like it wasn't a performance to be proud of, but each performance is independent of the next one, so we will focus only on the next game and the context of the run of form is irrelevant.
Something has happened between either De Bruyne and the club, of him and Pep, against Spurs after there 3rd goal it took Pep 22 mins before bringing kDB on, many believed he might be saving him for Liverpool game, but NO, something is not right behind the scenes.
Alan always praises Chelsea with slight shade were nothing like Newcastle mate Gary too you can tell they don’t fancy us but you can’t deny we’re serious this season
They've been mocking Chelsea all season for having too many players. Now they're saying it's an advantage they can play a different 11 in Europe!! Bit cheeky that!
The players weren't hoping Pep was going to leave were they? Yes more probs than Rodri missing, they miss KDB as well as his play coming on showed. I think some of the others players have come to depend on their spine and have now been shown to be a bit limp - Haaland needs supply, Grealish and Foden lacklustre, the defence are in need of some love
Salah may as well wear a shirt saying 'I WANT TO STAY'. And let him! He's a generational footballer and isn't showing any sign of slowing down. Same with VVD
The thing with Salah is that it’s Liverpool or Saudi. Unless Madrid decide that they want him on the right of their attack, nobody can realistically offer the salary he wants other than Saudi, and I’m sorry but he’s still too good and young for that league.
Pep is now facing problems virtually every other manager/coach has faced for years, midfield are looking slow, thinking of what they are going to do with the ball instead of just instinct. Other managers have coached there clubs well to do well, and it's now time for Pep to show his coaching ability, but not just the last 6-7 games it's been most of the season and his coaching is sadly lacking, now it's time he earned his vast wages.
So ye, Micah. Evertonians aren't happy with the "progress" under Dyche. New owners can't come in sooner so they can get him gone. Incidentally the last time we had this few points after 13 games was 94-95, a new manager came in & we won the FA Cup. Perhaps a good omen, probably not.
Everton have been getting progressively worse every game this season. The only hope we have of staying up is the new owners coming in quickly and making some big changes
"Create space for KYLE WALKER on the overlap." Pretty much sums up why they've lost 6 in a row. Kyle walker genuinely might be one of the worst technical ballers in the entire league now. That's not him.
M Richards "the game was calling out for a Grealish"... what can he do, what has he done for a long... maybe because he is english the he still thinks Grealish can change a game...
Is Pep angling for the sack? Maybe he knows the 115 charges are gonna go south. Looks like the good guy for signing a contract and good for PR and probably has a big payout clause if he does get the sack
These 2 past games for liverpool must be enough to strike fear in their opponents. I know ppl will talk about injuries. Which team doesn't hv injuries. Liverpool no 9(Jota), number 1, number 5, were not there yesterday
Special moments: 1. Liverpool sniffling Manc for 20mins 2. Liverpool handling entire game 3. Gomez performing like he already played the entire season. 4. Quansah playing RB like he knows it. 5. Luchos No look pass 6. Kelleher save at the end to top it off.
Is it a British tabloid thing to find a scandal where there isn't one? Why are we not considering the questions Salah is being asked? He is responding to questions in a language that is not his first language yet you keep alluding to answers as statements

Gvardiol deserved getting benched, he's been horrible lately. That's not Pep punishing him...
Haven't seen anyone anywhere mention that Liverpool currently have more injuries than Man City. City's bench cost more than most teams still.
PEP GUARDIOLA WELCOME TO THE ARNE SLOT PENITENTIARY
Micah's aquarium in the background while he's doing a great detailed analysis on VVD is a hilarious image
Brian Clough was a very prolific centre forward who didn't do too bad at management. 😉
Spot on Clough didnt do too bad lol

Oh my God they covered Chelsea
VVD had more on target than Haaland... Says it all
I was actually surprised as well. I had thought it would be a harder game but we just completely dominated them
How can you not remember Alex Ferguson and Brian Clough…?!? Two super successful managers who were strikers! 😂
Gentlemen, thank you for the sharp analysis of Liverpool vs. Manchester City. Liverpool, congratulations on your victories over the past week.
It’s nice to see. To touch on Gary’s point, yes it does get boring and it’s nice to see, that’s why the premier league is the best league in the world.

Hmm maybe is Manchester habit , cause the most expensive defender in the World "Harry the big Head " is bench warmer for most of the time
Ps why is Mica doing his podding inside a quilted coffin?😂
All teams go through a rough patch, the will empire strikes back
great show lads

Great to see Micah in denial about city, he speaks as though this is a one off.

That woeful free kick in the first half summarized $hiteh's day/effort (or lack thereof).
How many injuries did liverpool have last season and still battled on finishing top end.Not seprised how well they have started with a fit squad ..
