    I am a freelance developer so I do alot of freelance work. Websites, web applications, I also build some SASS products. Usually when I build SASS products I use PHP (Laravel) and use NodeJS (Express) for microservices, basic API's, etc. Building with Laravel is pretty quick, what is the build speed in comparison to .NET. In other words if you built a SASS product with Laravel and built the same product with .NET what is the build speed like comparing the two?

    Question. Any recommendation on a tutorial that doesn't treat a long time programmer in other languages like they know nothing about programming in general? Every thing seems to be beginner and it is unbearable to sit through basic lessons about what a function is , what a variable is, the if statement, etc... It's like I know how to program and great at logic, I just need to be able to translate it into this other language and platform. So instead of a "For Dummies" approach, I'd like a "For Programmers in Other Languages" approach. Any you can think of? (wanted to add, this is not to get a job, have a stable one, but added learning C# to my KIP so I can get my hands dirty in some of the other company projects.)

    I would love to learn C# but I haven't started because of one simple reason, I don't have a college degree. I am learning JavaScript at the moment. I have my fundamentals down and soon I will began learning React. In the next 3-6 months I am considering learning another language but I am afraid to pick up C#. Because I feel no one will want to hire me without a college degree. What I have in my favor is that I live in NYC and I am very passionate in learning to program and I have grit and wont quit. What is your recommendation? Should I learn C# still? Is it possible to find a career in C# without a degree in NYC?

    • @CoderFoundry
      @CoderFoundry  2 роки тому +1

      Thing about NYC is that its hot for every stack. .NET included. Most of our students don't have college degrees and work in .NET jobs so its certainly not a barrier to be a .NET without a degree.

      @@CoderFoundry Great thank you for your wisdom on the subject matter, I greatly appreciate it. Hearing this I will begin focusing on C# once I feel comfortable with JavaScript and React, hopefully it shouldn't take me no longer than July. I am already using Visual Studio Code for JavaScript. Would you recommend I jump straight into visual studio or .NET or should I continue using visual studio code once I begin my learning with C# and once again thank you for your prompt reply.

    A lot of people say we shouldn't let .net of you want to work in a FAANG. Some people even believe that FAANGS are biased against .NET and building your career all around .NET is a disadvantage. How true is this

    • @CoderFoundry
      @CoderFoundry  3 роки тому +9

      Just remember only a very small percentage of developers are ever going to work at FAANG. They have their own processes and way they do things. I'm not sure how they feel about .NET, but don't base all of your learning on the way they choose to do things.

    • @CoderFoundry

      C# runs on the server. Js runs in the client. Yes you can use node but c# is faster than node on the serve side.
