    Could you do a video on what you wrote for the short statements for Stanford? Like the questions about what historical moment you'd like to see, etc?

      i actually never saved those lol but i wouldn't worry too much about them. just answer them honestly and don't try to make yourself seem like someone you think they'd want you to be rather than yourself as you are

    i wanna do an essay ab my love for either games/interactive media or my love for journalling but im afraid that my writing will sound boring because im not a good writer :( also i have no interesting anecdotes ab either of those topics

      brainstorm! brainstorm brainstorm brainstorm! it took me months to come up with the idea i ended up choosing. also your anecdote really doesn't have to have anything to do with the actual topic of your essay. mine had nothing to do with poetry. it's all about the connections you make

    Hey eleni! I've got a slight question about one of the Stanford questions (I know this isn't the video on Stanford supplements so please bear with me :) ). For the prompt that is:
    When the choice is yours, what do you read, listen to, or watch?
    with a maximum of 50 words and minimum of three, do you think listing is allowed? (like where you have read: blah blah or listen:blah blah reasons)

    Could you make a video on subject tests? Like how important they are, what you consider a good score, etc.

    Is the common app essay read and submitted to every college you apply to? I am kind of confused on the entire process 😅

    Thanks a lot! I have one question, do we apply to the university or the college in the university for eg I want to study engineering at Stanford, so do I apply to engineering school in specific or just have to follow the conventional practice.

    • @eleniarizona
      @eleniarizona  7 років тому +1

      so it totally depends on the school, but for stanford specifically you'd just apply to stanford in general and then pick an engineering major when you get here

    So I have a question. I’ve been writing my essay and I’m almost done but my concern is that my writing is too poetic-ish. I write in a sort of fancy way that no one else does so it stands out against other people’s writing, do you think that’s okay?

    • @eleniarizona
      @eleniarizona  7 років тому

      it depends if your style hinders comprehension. if not then i think it should be fine!

    Did you recycle your one best common app essay for all the schools you applied to or did you change a couple things

    • @eleniarizona
      @eleniarizona  7 років тому

    What is a gimmicky essay??

    • @eleniarizona
      @eleniarizona  7 років тому +5

      it's like when you rely on stylistic choices or topic matter to make your essay punchy/different when under the surface there's not actually much substance to it

    Hi Eleni, how many common apps admission essays did you end up writing? Would you recommend writing only one for all colleges that you applied?

    • @eleniarizona
      @eleniarizona  7 років тому

      i wrote one common app essay and several supplement essays. i don't think there's any reason to write more than one common app essay

      Hi Eleni,
      I have a question regarding the essay editing process. When you ask for feedback from your teachers or others, did you give them the final revision to read before submitting it? So if you make multiple drafts, did you have people proofread every single time? How was your experience of that proofread and editing process, and how would you approach them? Could you please give me some advice on what I should do and avoid?
      Thank you so much, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
      Huong
